I see a few silver bay horses there. My mini gelding is a silver bay. My mare and her filly are black. I love them to death. The gelding and mare drive, jump, and barrel race. The filly is learning to drive, but she's just a yearling. Her harness is fastened to mom's harness when I drive her. She's not actually pulling anything yet---just getting used to the equipment. (Jan Griffiths).
@@melhawk6284 It sure was. Now she's a 3 year old and driven with her mom or the gelding or alone. Never an ounce of trouble from her. (Jan Griffiths).
@douglasgriffiths3534 probably picked it up like a little sponge! I have been tempted by Minis, because I have lost ALL my confidence with the bigger breeds, sadly! How much can a single Mini pull, if I may ask? Because the barrels look like a LOT of fun! I probably won't STAY at 1, though... I have heard they have a fair resemblance to Lay's tater chips, 😆!
@@melhawk6284 Well, I weigh 124 pounds, my sulky weighs about 25 pounds. My minis range in weigh from 245 to 285 pounds. They are very strong for their size. I'm also 5'11" in height. They have no trouble at all pulling me being driven singly. (Jan Griffiths).
@@melhawk6284 Yeah, she learned quickly too. She was my mare's 8th and last foal (mare is 16). All of her foals were started that way. Their smart little guys, let me tell you. (Jan Griffiths).
Hi, I was wondering if I can use some of the videos that you have taken of the miniature chuckwagons for the Alberta Miniature Chuckwagon Racing Assoc. website? I enjoy the videos you have taken over the years!
Not all of them. Some are in proportion, like the 3 I have. I have a 37 inch tall black mare, her 3 year old 34 inch tall filly, and a 34 inch tall silver bay gelding. All are in proportion, and have the longer legs. (Jan Griffiths).
Minis can have tooth problems too, so their teeth have to be checked frequently. They have large teeth like regular sized horses, and may have to have some of them removed. They need them floated (filed down) more frequently than regular horses too. Mine get theirs done twice yearly, or when I feel points on their teeth. (Jan Griffiths).

That's smart with the filly! Learning manners and rules from her mama, along with the basic commands, probably!
