"Can We Sustain This?" Piers Morgan and Douglas Murray Debate Migration

  • Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by associate editor of The Spectator Douglas Murray, TalkTV contributor and lawyer Paula Rhone-Adrien and TalkTV contributor Esther Krakue to have a discussion about the migration crisis within the UK as net migration reaches record high.
Piers asks Paula whether the UK can sustain this level of migration when public services such as the NHS are already under pressure with understaffing and underfunding. Paula explains that is in fact why we need more people to come to this country because they can help prop up some of our struggling services such as the NHS.

@@hassyg4083 well you’re talking rubbish there, it’s how corporations stay wealthy, cheap labour to drive the taxis and deliver the food, pay very little taxes, they also bring dependants. These dependents need schooling, the older ones need health treatment, and eventually they will get old and retire then need to dip into what is already a failing pension system. So when this happens, more imports will be needed to put the next plaster on the wound and the cycle continues. Skilled migration is a benefit to us, but also detrimental to the country they leave. None skilled mass migration is a drain, it is not a boost, and I am not even touching on the obvious societal explosion which is coming very soon

@raycorrigan3297 There's a big push to get people to vote Reform at next election. Get rid of the legacy voting mentality. Voting the same as your dad did is not a point of pride when the party is not the party your dad voted for. Labour will make this Conservative term look like a happy memory with what they have planned. Labour and Conservative as well as Liberal Democrats are the same party. They take turns with their hands in the cookie jar. Piss the populace off as far as they can, under one banner, and then carry on under another when the public knee jerk and force a name change, giving a cooling off period to the previous party. Reform will break that deadlock and if we can all vote for the one and not water down votes, trying to bring others in, or panic vote for lib dems in case cons or lab get in. Vote reform and break the liblabcon chokehold on us. Anything is better than the rabble we have now and opens the door for people to realise there is more than the three to select across. Make elections less predictable when people exercise choice. Even if they're 'one trick ponies' they break the liblabcon monopoly and get people realising, hopefully, there's more options than the corrupt trinity that had run this country into the ground.

It's not the illegals or those arriving in boats that you can control; most of them are coming from war-torn countries that have been affected by the actions of the UK and USA. The real issue lies with student and work visas, which have become increasingly easy to obtain. Work permits, in particular, are practically handed out like peanuts. The Home Office is essentially selling these visas, making money from them. On top of that, they collect taxes from both employers and the individuals granted work visas. More people mean more tax, more money.
In the last three years, around 6 million Indians have come in. India is a peaceful country with a GDP larger than the UK, so why are they coming? Rents are high because of them, and they are taking jobs, even in the NHS. Complaints about minimum wages abound, but do you know how many visas the government has issued in healthcare and how many Nigerians and Indians have arrived? Yes, they will pay taxes, and that money will go to the government, but they're not going back, mate. Good luck finding a job.
Suella Braverman played a dirty trick by blaming Muslims for everything. She has left now, but she started Islamophobia, antisemitism, and far-right riots. Yet, no one asked her about the 6 million Indians and how we've been replaced within a year."

Fight back. I am training to become a children's lawyer but homelessness is a subject we have started going into. Get a solid well organised and trusty lawyer who deals specifically in housing and real estate laws etc as they'll be able to go into more depth and know things most do not, your landlord could be exploiting his right to own properties. Build a genuine case by going through everything with a lawyer and take, your landlord to court if it comes to it, (the fact they're illegally in the UK) it would gain public traction outside of what your landlords doing in secret, and would speak bigger volumes and get more people in the UK talking if it were to be a public case. You'd most likely win that case because of the outside noise and facts around your situation would be too damming to be ignored. You have play to it right, and see as your the landlords breaking the law and using you as sort of bait through calculated bullying tactics. I am pretty sure that breaches his/hers powers as a landlord, and the fact he's harboring illegals whilst having a binding license within the UK. Get a housing lawyer, see if there's anything you can do with it and go from there. 👍

For decades our country has discouraged families and if the argument is "We need more people" then the solution is to encourage people to remain in a marriage and encourage them to have children NOT to import adults.
Give married people tax breaks and the longer you are married the more breaks you get then give people more money/help for having more children so they do not have to worry about being able to afford another child, it would not take long for the next generation to increase solving the problem "We need more people" with the added bonus that those people are British.
This of course is for people who are born in the UK not immigrants and we would have to deport all the illegal migrants.
The government created this problem to justify importing people and we only started this after WW2 when we had so few people left we needed to import people but instead of stopping as soon as we had filled the lost people in WW2 we started to say "Diversity is our strength" and "Multi-culture is a good thing".

And her argument seems to be that we need people to staff the NHS, so we should just open the doors to everyone. That's absurd: We can issue visas selectively, and it has been demonstrated that migrants from outside the EU take more in taxes than they contribute. We do but the truth is none of the indigenous people want to do the hard jobs. They all want the blue collar cushy jobs that pay which leaves gaps in employment i.e nurses, retail staff, tradesman to name a few. The work ethic of some of this young generation of people raised in western countries is absymal. The immigrants have a superior work ethic to them and the Indian community is a shining example of what ambition and hard work can achieve.

So let me get this straight. We need more people to mitigate the fact we have too many people for the NHS to handle, rather than simply not bringing in more people in the first place to require even more people to compensate for the initial influx?
What percentage of these immigrants are putting more in to the system than not? Should we accept such immigrants in if they are not a net benefit and don't have jobs but require benefits?
Your answer would be no, because its not about the NHS, its not even about th3 immigrants, it's about your hatred for the native.

We have too many AGING people, meaning people who will in the next few decades leave the workforce and become dependants of the state (pension). Combine that with the a low birth rate from native brits and you have a generation of young workers who's taxes are mainly going to supporting those older people.

It is such a nonsense to state that we need more workers because our own people won't do the work. The effect of mass low skilled immigration is to constantly depress wages eventually to thevlowest common denominator, further discouraging the incentive to work. The minimum wage rarely applies because so many of these immigrants work in the black economy where workers rights are also non-existent because employers know they will not complain because they probably have no right to be in the country. Further, immigrants grow old as well and will need care in their old age. So, how will we look after them? Answer, more unskilled mass immigration. The rise in immigration on this model will be exponential.

The US state of Oregon is approximately the same size in land mass as Britain. The populations are dramatically different, with Oregon having: 4,240,137 (4.2 million) and Britain having: 67,827,150 (67.8 million) Which means there are 63 million more people occupying this land mass than there needs to be for comforts sake. It is over populated. Which would you imagine has the better quality of life? Britain or Oregon?
The weird argument, that comes from certain people, such as Jordan Peterson and Elon Musk, that "We need more people, vastly and desperately more" is completely baffling to me, and they are so vehement about it. Perhaps because North America, Canada especially is under populated and spacious. It is also from people who don't live in cities who think this the most. And as we see the quality of life in cities and large built up areas is an extreme contrast in degradation from that of small towns and villages. Pumping more and more people into already over populated areas can only decrease quality of life for everyone. People living on top of each other, racial and religious demographics aside, the sheer discomfort of traffic jams, crowds and the seething anguish of disparate ideologies unable to relate to each other is simply not desired by anyone. Cities are imploding under these unbearable conditions, all over the world. We all want abundance don't we? A house, safety, a garden with a fruit tree that grows old as we do. Not a return to serfdom under the new Lairds. Governments should be concentrating on the flourishing of life, the joy of living, serving and protecting us, beautifying and repairing, that's what we work hard and pay them for. Instead we get chaos.

I guarantee she wouldn't have an answer. It's blatantly clear to everyone who lives in this country that it has been massively overcrowded for many years. In my lifetime alone, the population has increased from 50 million to 70 million plus. However, this woman clearly doesn't live in the real world when she says we need more and more immigrants. Whoever said that the muslims' aim is to convert this country into a complete muslim community was absolutely right. You only have to look at the average number of offspring they produce compared to other religions. In the past, I have worked with a Pakistani muslim who had 9 kids by 3 different women....nice!! The argument that services like the NHS benefit from immigration has a shred of truth but it's looking at the positive while ignoring all the negatives.
What is in effect happening (ignoring intangibles such as national identity and societal issues like ghettoisation) is that successive governments have been playing Jenga with the economy, using immigrant workers to garner extra votes and as a short term economic stimulus while degrading the national infrastructure that the whole rests upon.
The problem with this is that you can only pull out so many blocks from the bottom while adding to the top before the whole system collapses!

The UK does not "need" any more immigration, it "needs" a program of active de-population. This could be achieved by simply not issuing or renewing visas, caps should be put on the amount of foreign students able to be accepted by universities. Citizenship tests should be made a lot harder more expensive and limited in numbers. Everyone always seems to look at the UK's problems with housing, infrastructure etc as being one of build more stuff as opposed to remove the demand. The future in most industry is automation, why on earth do we need to keep on importing more people when in 20 years time there won't be anything for them to do. With smaller class sizes better education can be delivered, less traffic on the road etc it's becoming ridiculous in the South of the UK, it's a very claustrophobic to live compared to even 25 years ago.
