One of the best performances by any actor that I've ever seen. Masterly.

Always such humility. Truly a class act.

Rylance is so natural and so talented. Very modest too when he’s such a superb actor.

Mark Rylance WAS Cromwell. He absolutely deserved this award. Too bad he didn’t win the EMMY too. That was shameful.

For anyone else, this would a rambling speech instead Mark is so genuine and thoughtful in his enthusiasm.

I'm Italian and I think that the acceptance speech of Mark Rylance is beautiful and true to the core and I admire him for it. He's a brilliant British actor.

What a lovely speech, even including non acting people who love jokes, stories and baking cakes. Wonderful!

Only in England could the magnificent Wolf Hall be made. A production filled with extraordinarily fine actors and fantastic locations and with a masterful crew of genius behind the scenes craftmen and women! Mark Rylance was absolutely stunning as Cromwell!

If the award was for the actor most like being himself and not acting, I’d agree.

By the way, there were Moors in 16th century England who were not slaves. Moors was the term for black individuals.

What awful interviewers. How hot is your suit etc. etc! Shame on BAFTA and the BBC for not having people of higher quality asking those questions. The Academy has been dumbing down for years just like the BBC I’m sad to say. They didn’t deserve the quality of Mark Rylance’s responses.

They were just making light of the situation and making it less serious. Doesn't make them awful interviewers, they asked some very good questions

Brilliant series totally ruined by the woke brigade. Saw an interview with the producer claiming that the only thing that wasn't accurate about the films portrayal of 1536 was the use of fake beaver skins instead of real ones. What about all the actors in it of African heritage - guards , lords etc? England in 1536 wasn't a diverse multicultural community. Im sure the woke brigade will condescendingly say my ignorance means I don't understand that anyone of any colour can play any part. So why not have a more diverse range of actors working in the fields in the film '10 years a slave' or represented amongst the tribesman in the film 'Zulu' ?

You're so lame that this ruined a show for you. Get over yourself. You have some really issues if a few black and brown extras ruined a show for you.

Tudor England was a much more multicultural world than you seem to think it was.
