Opie with Jim was better than anything post-O&A from Jim or Ant. Opie isn’t good on his own at all but neither are Jim or Ant. Even when Jim used to go on compound more regularly they were just so flat. Recycling the same old jokes over and over again, and they never had good material to work with. Opie was very good at providing Jim and Anthony with material they could routinely work well with. Most of the best bits either came from Opie‘s ideas or from the producers that Opie hired, and you know he did, because Jim and Anthony had nothing to do with anything behind the scenes which led to a lot of the tension between the guys. Opie had his role.

Opie was pretty funny on the segments where Ralphie May called in to the show and O & A got Ralphie to talk about his traumatic past and how he ended up gaining all of his weight.
Are they lying about how they left Boston? It seems like they go from being facetious to being serious. If it's true they lose a lot of credibility because they've talked for hundred of hours about how they got fucked over.
