His contribution started and ended with being the joke. Jimmy's belittlement eventually saved him and Bobo learned how to be a part of the show rather than just being an embarrassment. A good example of Bobo's shift was when they had the magician on. Bobo heckled him the entire time and hit him with pure gold. Angrily calling his magic bullshit, it was hilarious. Only a few out of like 30 heckles bombed. If you haven't heard it then you should check it out

A whole bunch. But it's hard to say if the bit was great because Opie steered them to conception or because the others carried the ball and ran with it. Usually it's the latter.
