I remember his legendary appearances on Howard Stern and then many more awesome appearances came along when he was on Opie & Anthony. Love Pat Cooper. The man is a rare breed of talent.
Pat was good enough to be there for me many times, he was generous. There are always two sides to a story. My dad was old fashioned and never told me he loved me, but I knew how he was raised and his limits in expressing himself. I chose to give my father some slack, and loved him deeply and always showed him respect - he was my father and I owed him that. I hope they reconcile.
His best comes from his add libbing and freestyle entertainment (like carrying a radio interview). Nobody could follow him on a roast. He closed them. He was more than a name performer, even though that's what he was. You can learn all kinds of things, similar to a George Carlin, but of course not quite.
@@jamesbanks1845 Really? He quit standup comedy in 1994? My point was that he was a very angry and bitter man and was never content about anything. You can see and hear it in every interview he ever did and in every standup comedy routine so what more do you need to prove that he was never content, but you want to tell us how "content" he was? Okay, so if you want to believe that then go ahead and believe it. It made him feel good to tell us how it was "Ova" for other comedians and singers including himself. @@jamesbanks1845 After hearing how he talked to his own mother and children I really can't stand the guy. He thought he was funnier than he actually was in reality. Alienated a lot of fellow performers and paid for it. Despite what he professes he was jealous of comics like Don Rickles because of their continued success well into old age.
@@chrisnalina1755 I think he was a incredibly jealous and insecure man. Seems like he had “issues” with his parents, his siblings, his wives and children, and other performers. @@dannyryan9246 Pat told his son not to call him when his son's grandmother ( meaning Pat's mother) dies, according to his son. What a great interview my gratitude to the interviewer and those that made this happen. RIP Pat

Man, Pat going toe to toe with Patrice O'Neil is the stuff of legend. I listen to it several times a year.

The "Greats".....are pretty much.....almost all gone. I'm gonna remember them "live"....one day soon. Thank you for posting this interview
Excellent interview! Thanks for posting.
Pasquale: What a journey!
Listened to his comedy albums since I was a kid..great guy
great man...
RIP Pat Cooper. For a lot of laughs over the years.
love him
MY OPINION.....MR. COOPER.....ONE OF THE TOP 5 FOR SURE.....POSSIBLY TOP 3 .....COMEDIANS OF ALL TIME. PERIOD
He makes a good point about knowing when to step off the stage...some folks hang on for way too long...RIP
Patrice O'Neal loved this man, I can see why.

What a great interview!!! All you did was hold the microphone, but it was still very entertaining lol
He makes so much sense
IT DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN Mr. Cooper.
IT DOES NOT !!!!!!
The BEST.....HAS COME.... AND GONE ....RIP Pat. Thank you for this video
I'd love to hear what Pat Cooper thinks about the insanity today? Makes the time of this interview seem like the good old days
Pat is the real deal funny. Legend. One if the very best ever. Its not an act.
That's a real man telling it like it is.
I'm sure his son and daughter would disagree......Google their relationship. He's FAR from a "real man"
He’s wearing the jumpsuit! Love you, Pat! ❤️
Why is somebody making weird noises every time he says something?
Who's the annoying guy in the background moaning through the entire interview???
good question.
Looool
It’s fascinating how comfortable he was with saying “it’s over” he must have been truly content with what he had done
"Content"? It does not seem like he was ever content about anything in his
entire life. He used to do that, "It's ova" shtick 20 years earlier.

Legend...Vic Dibetto stole his act and persona..
You are right about that
