  • An emotional reunion Friday night at Erwin High School.Petty Officer Dale Williams made a surprise visit to his daughter, Kendall.Williams hid behind the Color Guard as his daughter stood on the football field with her cheerleading squad.Just before the national anthem the announcer introduces the naval diver who's been stationed at Guantanamo Bay.It took a few seconds for Kendall to realize her dad was walking toward her but once she did they had an emotional reunion, "I saw him behind me...I was like woah!"Petty Officer Williams, "when i called her name and she turned around...I lost it myself."Petty Officer Williams' visit was short, he had to return to duty Saturday night, but the family said they were going to enjoy the time they had.

Anis Abd essalem You mean here in America? if so, then I would have to be honest with you and say, I am pretty much terrorized by my own fellow Americans on a daily basis. I hear people wish death upon me ATLEAST once a day. Go through some of my videos sometime and see how my fellow Americans treat me. And Im born and raised here. I love what my country was built on and was meant to stand for. However, Americans seem to be growing horns right in front of me. HOWEVER, just as I love the Syrian mujahadeen, I love our military men and women. They are opposite of Syrian Army. Its possible that the majority do not like Muslims, but their personal oppinion is not what they will lay their life on the line for. They will die in order or me to be Muslim...even if they don't like it. So, I do not like I government, but my respect for our military and their families is very deep.

I am often astounded by the commitment many American's make to recognise, thank and show gratitude to those who Serve. It's simply no longer a part of our culture here and I don't think ever was to the extent it is in the US.

hydrated She recognized him almost immediately at the 1;24 mark to be exact. He is smiling at her, look at her face. She thought it was him but probably couldn't believe it until they announced his name. You know your daddy when you see him but when he is supposed to be across the globe it takes a minute for your mind to believe it. I agree that she didn't dare believe it until he walked up to her. Our minds have a hard time processing something it "knows" can't be true. .My son did this to me in the middle of a restaurant and it took me a more than a minute to realize that the man in fatigues standing behind my other son, his twin brother, was my son that I had just spoken to 30 minutes earlier while he was sitting on his bunk in Afghanistan. Trust me, I was not as composed as this young lady. In fact, I think I may have injured a server or two once I realized it was him.It took me quite awhile to recompose myself, unlike this young lady. She gave herself the time to hug him and cry when he came to her but then they both stood completely composed during the playing of the National Anthem. Much more than I could have done as an adult. She deserves some credit.

Don't comment much at all, but i understand this man's tears. The flag can certainly bring you to the point of tears after suffering, and seeing home and family, after a time of suffering in points of isolation, especially deployed when just about anyone out there could end everything in the blink of an eye. I respect his discipline and respect in these short moments. Brought me to tears too when i should have been steady. Hope he has a happy life with his family.
