    Entered customs. Queuing up, they closed all counters and asked everyone to go to the auto gate on the right. Did not register the form, passed through.
    Questions: 1. Can I get the stamp after passing through auto gate? Is it ask at the counter after that? 2. Pass through auto gate and got no stamp, how to pass through Penang airport?

      @FlyHighCruiseFar  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your query.
      If you use the auto gate, there will not be any stamps given. When you exit through Penang airport, let them know you entered via e-gates in JB and it will be ok. All records are shown in their system.
      Hope this helps and apologies for the late reply.

    Hi, I have a Malaysian Permanent Residence Card with a Swedish passport. Where can i register my Passport before departure? i heard there's a few registration kiosk in KLIA 1 for the e- gates? Can you do the registration without Departing? meaning only go to KLIA just to register your passport for it?

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      As you are holding a Swedish passport, you are automatically eligible to use the e-gates at KLIA as it is part of the EU. Do take note that your passport must be embedded with microchip to use the e-gate.
      There is no need to register your passport prior to arrival in Malaysia. However, you do need to fill in the MDAC within 3 days of your arrival to Malaysia.
      For departure from KLIA, once you have entered using the e-gates, you can automatically depart using them as well.
      I am not sure for your case as you are currently residing in Malaysia and asking about use of e-gates when departing. I think you should be able to use it as your passport is in pre-approved list and there is no longer any requirements for e-gate users to pre-register for it. Just ensure that you have filled up the MDAC successfully and then proceed to the e-gates.
      Hope this helps, thank you.

    Hi, I have successfully applied for the egate when using my previous passport. I am now facing some issues with my new passport when applying for the egate. I had tried serveral time to ask the custom officer to activate for me. But still unsuccessful with the egate activation. When I inserted my passport at the egate, it can be scanned with my name details but after that show verification error and said must proceed to immigration counter. I have already tried and told the custom officer but they keep telling me try again in next visit. Please advise what's went wrong with the egate activation.

      Hi, thank you for sharing your experience.
      Based on what you shared, you had no issues with the old passport for e-gate use but cannot use the new passport. Based on what the immigration officer said, I think maybe you should do up the MDAC and then go to the manual counter again like it is a fresh new application. When at the counter, let the officer know you want to apply for e-gate and they can do a more thorough biodata verification.
      I have a friend who did this and the officer told her she cannot use e-gate because her fingerprints are not clear. So maybe this new application can help "refresh" your data on their system?
      Sorry I am unable to help more as I am not part of the Malaysia immigration team, hopefully my suggestion works for you. All the best. Thank you

    Hi, I went to JB last Dec (on Tuesday morning) & submitted MDAC form before that. Upon reaching JB checkpoint, I went to queue at manual counter (no 6 or 7). After almost 1 hour Qing, my passport get stamped. But the officer didnt take any biometric/fingerprint registration. Will I be able to use E-gate in my next trip? Otherwise, which counter at JB checkpoint that I must queue to get my fingerprint verified? Thank you.

      Hi, thank you for sharing. The counter you went to, was it the one with the MDAC E-Gate verification standee? At Woodlands, there are now 1-2 counters which are doing e-gate verification for first time applicants. Previously any counter can use, so I am also not sure whether the verification was completed for you.
      A friend of mine went through normal counter, did not say he was doing verification BUT the next time he visited, he tried the e-gates and it worked for him thereafter.
      So I suggest you try the e-gate when you next visit. If it doesn't work, there is a counter near the e-gates to help you do verification instead of the normal counters. There will be a standee and signs to identify these counters.
      Hope this helps. Thank you.

    Hi, may I ask,
    Question 1, let say I go on 24 April 2023, when should I apply MDAC?

      Hi, thank you for your queries.
      1. If you are going on 24/4/2023, you can start applying from 22/4/2023. 3 days (including day of arrival).
      2. After you have gotten the verification on your first time visit, subsequent visits will still require you to fill in the MDAC before arrival. You just do not need to go counter after that first time.
      Hope this helps, thank you.

      1. Only Singapore passport holders are eligible to use e-gates
      2. You can apply for MDAC from Malaysia if you have a dependent pass in Malaysia.
      3. Motorbike users cannot use the e-gate. It is only for those going in and out of Malaysia on public transport or buses.

      No, Singaporeans holding a valid Singapore passport no longer need to fill in the MDAC online form. This applies to both land entry points (ie. Woodlands Causeway + Tuas Second Link) as well flying into KLIA.

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      Yes, there is a timing for egate verification for first timers recently. It's Mon - Thu, 8am to 7pm. Before your entry into Malaysia via land checkpoint (bus only), fill up the MDAC and when you are at CIQ, you can go to the MDAC special queue and get it verified. During registration, the immigration officer will request to see the email from MDAC to you. They will take your fingerprints. Then, they will scan your passport into their system. The whole process takes about 5 minutes, if everything is in order.
      Hope this helps. Thank you

      Hope this helps. Thank you

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      If you are travelling into Malaysia via car, you will not be able to verify and use e-gates as it is not available for cars.
      If you want to apply for and verify for e-gates use, you can only do so using the manual counters in the CIQ at land check points Woodlands and Tuas 2nd link.
      Hope this helps. Thank you.

    Hi, does the 30 days social visit entry pass still apply; or does the departure date entered in the MDAC overrides it? Similarly, I believe the departure date cannot be more than 30 days, based on Malaysia's entry permit for social visitors.

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      Yes, you do not need MACS if you are holding a valid Singapore passport. To register for e-gates use and verification, please fill in the MDAC within 3 days of your arrival in Malaysia land check points. Once approve, please also fill in the MDAC each time you enter Malaysia via the land check points and KLIA to use the e-gates.
      Thank you.

  • @celyntan7307
    @celyntan7307 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If we do not have the MACS, can we still register? Every visit must apply MDAC only register at manual counter for the one time verification? No need to stamp passport after applying for MDAC right? If take car in can use and how long the MDAC last for, cos i see some say only for 3 days.

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      You do not need to apply for MACS if you are holding a valid Singapore passport. MACS is more for long term residents in Malaysia.
      To use the e-gate with your valid Singapore passport, you need to apply for it by submitting the MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card). On your first visit after submitting the MDAC, go to the manual counter to verify your biometrics data. Please also exit using the manual counter on the same first visit.
      After this "first" submission and visit, your e-gate use should be approved as long as there is no issue with your biometrics. On your subsequent visits to Malaysia, fill up the MDAC each time and then you can use the e-gate directly. No need to go to the manual counter for passport stamping.
      There is no e-gate option for cars, e-gate is only applicable for land crossing with public transport and at KLIA airport.
      MDAC is for a arrival card, so it is technically valid for that day of arrival. You can only fill in and submit within 3 days of your arrival in Malaysia, e.g. you cannot fill in the MDAC now if you are going to Malaysia on 1/4/2023.
      Hope this helps, and please leave us your queries in the comments if needed. Thank you.

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      For the first time when you use a manual counter for biodata verification, on the same exit, you will have to go back to manual counter as your passport was stamped on your way into Malaysia.
      On your NEXT visit into Malaysia, if you use the e-gates to enter Malaysia, you can then use the e-gate to exit. Or if you choose to use manual counter to enter, you must also exit using manual counter.
      Hope this helps, thank you.

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      For train to JB, there is no need to apply for MDAC as there is no e-gates for use at the train check points. It is manual checks only for trains. E-gate use is only for those taking buses via Woodlands and Tuas as well as flying into KLIA.
      Hope this helps, thank you.

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      If you enter via the e-gate, and you exit using the same land checkpoints, then it is adviseable to use the e-gates to exit. Otherwise, the immigration officer manning the counter may query why your passport did not have the entry stamp.
      If you are driving out or flying out, then I do not think that should be an issue as you do not have the e-gate options.
      This is just my personal opinion as I have not tried to enter with e-gate and exit with manual counter, do let us know how it goes if you try it. I'm curious too. :)

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thank you for your query.
      Technically, you do not need to show the immigration officer the confirmation screenshot.. BUT some of the officers do request to see the MDAC successful submission when you tell them you are applying for e-gates. One of my friend did not mention to the immigration officer about e-gates even though he did submit MDAC. On his next visit in, he breezed right through the e-gates without issues. For me, I did show my MDAC on my HP when requested. So it really depends.
      So if you want, do go ahead and let the immigration officer know you are applying for e-gates and have submitted the MDAC, and standby the MDAC if requested for.
      Hope this helps. Do let us know if you have more queries in the comments. Thank you.

      Hope this helps and happy holidays.

      Hi, thank you for your compliment and query.
      The MDAC has to be filled earliest is 3 days of your arrival but you can also fill it up on the day of your arrival, i.e. on the day itself.
      E-gates can only be used when you take bus. I am not too sure if there are e-gates at the train station and whether it can be used too. Please share and update with us if you have successfully used the e-gates at the train station. Thank you.

      I am not too sure what you meant with "Screen shown successfully registered but no name on it". Do you mean the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card?
      If you have checked on the same website that you use for registeration and it shows no record, that means you may have to re-submit a new arrival card application.

      Hi, thank you for your clarification.
      After you have submitted your MDAC, you can go to the same website, on the top, next to "Registration" is "Check Registration". You can click on that and fill in your particulars to confirm that your MDAC was successfully submitted and is valid for the period you are travelling into Malaysia. All your details such as name, passport number etc should be shown clearly. You can also download the PDF onto your HP as a backup in case the immigration officer wants to look.
      Thank you

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      The 'Check Registration' function is just to check that the MDAC submitted was successful and all details correct. For your first time applying to use e-gate, it is best to download the PDF and bring along just in case the immigration officer at the manual counter requests for it.
      After your first time at the manual counter to apply to use e-gate, you will still need to submit the MDAC for each and everytime you next enter Malaysia and want to use the e-gates. Without the MDAC submission, you will not be able to use the e-gate even though you have successfully done it previously. (We did an experiment to proof this. After first time applying for e-gates using the manual counter, we went back to JB 2 weeks later and used the e-gates with the MDAC duly submitted. No problem, breezed through e-gates. 1 month later, we went back and purposely DID NOT APPLY for MDAC and tried to use the e-gates. Did not work for us, e-gates did not open. So we stood to one side and did up the MDAC on the spot. Waited 3-5 mins and e-gates worked for us.)
      'Check E-gates eligibilty' is something new. I think it is for people who have successfully applied for e-gates use via the manual counter already, and also submitted MDAC for the upcoming trip into JB. If it is your first time applying to use e-gates, this option is NOT for you.
      If you have already used the manual counter to apply for e-gates use, then you can check your eligibility here BUT you must have already submitted MDAC for this upcoming visit too.
      Hope this helps. Thank you.

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      Under "Last port of Embarkation", please fill in Singapore. This is the Malaysia Digital ARRIVAL card, which is filled in when we enter Malaysia, thus the last port of embarkation for us is Singapore. When we leave Malaysia, there is no Departure card to be filled in so no worries about that.

      For the very first visit when you go through the manual gates to do verification, you have to exit using the manual gates.

      Hi, thank you for your queries.
      With effect from 1 Dec 2023, all foreigners entering Malaysia will need to fill up the MDAC within 3 days of their entry into Malaysia. This applies to all foreign passport holders regardless of mode of transport into Malaysia (i.e. by bus, train, foot, car, airplane, ship).
      So if you have successfully registered for the e-gate already, the next time you enter via Tuas or Woodlands by bus, you just need to fill in the MDAC and then enter using e-gate instead of joining queue for manual counter. It really saves you alot of time at the customs. Do take note there are also e-gates on the right side of the customs hall if the left e-gates are occupied.
      Hope this helps. Thank you.

      Yes, you can go for manual counter if you want to... we use e-gate cos it's faster and less queue. But if you use manual counter to go in, you must use manual counter to come out. Hi, thank you for your query.
      1. If you are holding a Singapore passport, you DO NOT need to fill in MDAC if you are flying in, cruising in, driving in via private car or taking public transport in via land check point.
      2. If you intend to apply for the use of e-gates, then you will need to fill in the MDAC before entering Malaysia via land checkpoint on public transport. You will then need to go to the MDAC verification counters which are opened Mon-Thu, 8am to 7pm. After your verification, you will receive a stamp on your passport and you will need to exit via manual counter when you leave Malaysia after your trip.
      3. Subsequent visits, you can directly use the e-gate AFTER filling in the MDAC before your entry into Malaysia via land checkpoints using public transport.
      Hope this clears up your queries, please let us know if you would like more info. Thank you.

    • @FlyHighCruiseFar
      @FlyHighCruiseFar  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, thank you for sharing.
      Not too sure about your scenario because when you enter via car, your passport will be stamped. Technically, you will need to get a stamp when exiting Malaysia.
      The first time I went to the counter to verify my biometrics, I asked the immigration officer about leaving with the e-gate but he said no, have to get passport stamped. I think that will apply for you case.
      If you are trying it out, I suggest that you fill in the MDAC as per normal for the day you enter Malaysia. Then when you exit, see if the e-gates can be used. If not, then go the the manual counter.
      Please do share your experience with us if you try the scenario out. Thanks in advance.

      Hi, thank you for your query.
      The MDAC is actually an arrival card declaration, so the departure date is not as important. If you stay overnight, there is no need to re-register as you are already in Malaysia and not "arriving" again.

      @@justinaho-s1q Hi, thank you for your comment. After you have successfully verified the biometrics data required, the next time you enter Malaysia via Woodlands or 2nd Link, you should be able to use the e-gate (provided you have applied for the arrival card for this next visit too). There is no way to check in advance, only upon use of the e-gates will you know whether you can use it or not. At the Woodlands CIQ, there is a separate counter at the e-gates that you can approach should there be any issues with the use of e-gates (provided you have previously applied and verified it successfully. This additional counter is not the normal manual counter. Only approach if there is problem with using the e-gates.)
      No, you can only apply the arrival card within 3 days of your arrival, not 1 week in advance. When you are filling in the arrival card online, there are only 3 days to choose from, the day you are applying and 2 days after. So please only apply within 3 days of your entry into Malaysia.

      Hi Claire, that is such a terrible experience to go through. Recently there were some articles and reports pertaining to the use of e-gates and several Singaporeans who managed to use it also ran into problems whereby the machine did not accept. One such Singaporean said he tried another machine and it worked. So I think maybe can try the different machines and if really cannot, go back to the manual counter and ask them to do verification again since you already submitted the MDAC and are at the manual counter.
      And then try again the next time you go in. All the best.

      Hi, thank you for your comment.
      Yes, if your Singapore passport has at least 3 months validity, just fill in the MDAC online and arrive at either land checkpoint on the date stated on your form. I brought along a soft copy just in case and did tell the immigration officer that I am applying for the e-gates. It is not neccessary to let the officer know because my friend applied without bringing the MDAC nor tell the immigration officer he is applying and is still able to use the e-gate now... but you can let the officer know just in case so that they can verify the biometrics data.
      On the day of the first visit to the manual counter, you have to exit using the manual counter as well, do not try to exit with e-gate on that day. On the next visit after your submission, please fill in the MDAC online, then proceed to the e-gate and use it. No need to go to the manual counter BUT filling in the MDAC is a must every time you enter Malaysia via the land checkpoints and want to use the e-gate.
      Hope I have been able to answer your queries. Please feel free to let me know in the comments if you have any additional questions etc. Thank you
