Hey guys so besides the whole whale story, I want to tell my thoughts as well: So yeah, as the comments below already explained, it talks about one's inner fight about confessing his feelings and risking to end up feeling lonely (rejected) but I think it's not really a song they're talking about when they say I'll sing for you as the lyrics go: "As if I just made a song, I am trying to say it now" they compare a confession with a song, the way it goes, the way the feelingswhen expressed with words are music... Just the way Whales communicate we call it a song then, whales "sing" when they speak, got it? Also and just as important, who are they singing a confession to? Their friends or their lover? In both cases they could end up rejected, lonely and sad, it's like Kai is chasing them both, so maybe at the end he didn't just choose his friends over his lover but he just chose the ones he was singing to and all this time he was fighting about choosing to leave them and be alone (but was scared to do so) or staying with them which could explain the conflicts in the group, like they were fighting about those leaving it, breaking the frienship and just not being loyal etc...
