    Can you please make more dinner videos like this? I'm newlywed, and not such a great cook, and these videos are so helpful for me to make small portions for the two of us. I also love the way that you do your videos, you go over each and every step which is so helpful for someone like me who doesn't know to do those small important steps.

      Anika, how touching, you need to learn to make small portions suitable for 2 because you are a new bride. I need to learn to make portions for 2 because my children are now grown up and I only cook for my husband and I. Believe me, it sounds easy but actually it's almost a new ball game. I hope you'll be very happy. Bon appétit to all retired people too! 😊

    • @murfenator923
      @murfenator923 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@isabellelaval7294 The rice is easy. You make it the same way you normally would only you toss in a couple of star anise with it and either some cracked cardamom seeds (to let the flavor out - but not crushed) or just use a little powdered cardamom. When the rice is done, everything will have floated to the top of the rice making it really easy to pick them out. Then fluff up the rice like usual and serve!

    Just found your Chanel and great cooking for two. Can you do the same with bone in and skin on thigh? Can you also put foil on cookie sheet? Looks delicious! Thanks!

      Hi Gael! Welcome, I'm so glad you found my channel. You can definitely use this recipe for bone in and skin on thigh, but you may need to adjust your baking time to make sure the chicken is cooked through properly.

      Christina Lane do you have any idea approx how long to cook? Thanks!

    • @ChristinaLane
      @ChristinaLane  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fry until crispy and then start with the original baking time of 15 minutes. Then stick a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh and make sure it is 165 degrees Fahrenheit. If it is lower then increase the time by 3 minute intervals until the temperature of the chicken reaches 165. Christina Lane thanks so much Christina for taking the time to help. I bought everything yesterday but forgot garlic. Will get later and try to cook tonight. I might put foil on the baking sheet, I hope that’s ok, if not I won’t worry about it, I know it will still be good. Thanks again!

    • @ChristinaLane
      @ChristinaLane  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment Carl. Cooking and carving a whole Turkey doesn't really fit into the small batch, cooking for two theme. But I like the idea of cooking a turkey and then using it in 3 or 4 recipes throughout the week. Usually though, my recipes will just call for a turkey breast. Subscribe and stay tuned in November for turkey recipes.

    Great video and technique. Love the cutting with scissors. Only thing is that it appeared the chicken was fried in olive oil. Would use something with a higher smoke point like canola, no?

    • @ChristinaLane
      @ChristinaLane  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Sorry for any confusion, the chicken is not fried in olive oil. You should definitely use a neutral oil with a higher smoke point. I used Canola oil in the video, you can also use Vegetable oil or Safflower oil.

      frying seems a waste and adds fat. I just mix in the bowl spread on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes ....then put under broiler for 5 minutes to crisp. Also add hot sauce, scallions and onions to the original sauce. Just a enough to wake it up.

    • @THERoryBreakerATL
