    I struggled with intimacy. Feeling awkward being "naked" both physically and emotionally took some time to over come.

      How did you overcome it?

    Wow, I feel really blessed to have the connection I have with my husband. I realize there are many problems that we don't even face....yet, it's just been 4 months. We are extremely open and loving and intimate. We waited to be intimate until marriage, and we were both virgins so I feel so secure knowing that my body is all that he wants and desires and vice versa. We are in harmony so fully. I feel so blessed.

    “You’re greater than your finances” and “I bring so many other things to the family” really ministered to me. You have no idea 🙏🏾

    • @vivienneink
      @vivienneink 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. Open conversation about finances and family is a must. If there is discord in these areas …there may lie other evolving issues to occur down the road. Too many people I know have lost love to divorce over these two matters.

    Thank you so much! That life balance one brought me to tears. We got married and had our baby 6 months later so I lost myself in being a wife and a mother. It's so easy to do, and it's been a challenge getting my *self* back. I'm working on it though so it's good to hear that I'm not alone!

    So needed this!!! ❤️️ getting married in about 60 days and I am scur---scurr--scurred LOL. I always felt like I had to be perfect and just know exactly how to be a wife from the beginning but I'm already realizing it's all a learning process and I have to lean on Christ and my almost husband. Thanks for doing this vid!

    Great video as usual. Can you make a video about how you prepared yourself mentally, spiritually, and emotionally for marriage? What did you do during the dating period (or before)to focus in on the intention of being married? Just to let you know I enjoy your content even though I don't always comment.

    Thank you so much for this video. Been married a year and a half and I am struggling through the balance. I have felt the same as you described coupled with moving here to Atlanta right after marriage. So I left the life I knew for 11 years. I have lost some relationships too but it wasn't because I didn't try. I always would reach out but phone calls began to become unanswered and not returned. I realize the seasons of some relationships but it doesn't hurt any less. At any rate, I'm trying harder though I must say making those relationships in my 30s in a new city (and I'm introverted too🤦🏾‍♀️) is hard. Sorry for the novel, but this hit home and I thank you for sharing. ❤️

    • @heir_born4108

      try to find local book clubs in your area, join a new fitness program (yoga, dance, etc), organizations that give back to the community in ways that interest you (youth mentorship, minority entrepenurship groups, political activism, etc) or even churches that might have womens' bible studies or prayer groups. Trust me I an introvert and could live the rest of my life without talking to a soul but at the end of the day, humans are made to interact with each other. You don;t have to have a 20+ friends but a good solid 2-3 makes a big difference

    • @Nisha8982
      @Nisha8982 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      HeirnBell this was great advice. I got engaged in Sept and will have to relocate once I'm married. I'm also an introvert with an Extrovert for a fiancé. I'm fearful of move and having to establish a new routine as a wife, mother, and building new relationships, but I'm looking forward to the journey.

    • @Selah1423
      @Selah1423 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nisha8982 if your husband is extroverted that may help get you out. Mine is introverted like me though he is way less awkward with people than I am. So neither one of us has the desire to get up and be around people much. I wish you luck on your new journey and move!

I love your vulnerability to your spouse and he too sounds as though he has created that space for you to feel free to express yourself in any way. May God continue blessing your marriage

    Tia, I needed this. Long story short, I am so anxious and fearful of how I'm developing into a wife for my future husband. It's like I can't relax and I'm obsessed with how I perform in several areas. I'm glad to see it's normal from your story and everyone's comments. I get down soo easily to the point where I feel that I'm not good enough and I'm inadequate. It's like I'm afraid to let go of what I had for myself, fully support the family vision, and move forward without doubt. It makes me feel like running away!! This was very helpful and I hope we get a part 2 also!

    I would love to hear your husband's perspective on all these issues too. In my personal time with the Lord, he lead me to your video to remind me of what my future wife would be like in terms of nature, character, and ebullience. With your husband's permission, I would congratulate you on your maturation as a wife and the intimate trials of which you triumphed during your journey. This was so helpful and encouraging. I now have something to look forward too and of whom to continue to plan. God Bless you sis.

    Thank you for this video Tia! I love and admire your sweet, positive spirit. This video is so timely for me. I recently got engaged almost 3 months ago (10/29) & the thought of being this awesome guys wife has made me anxious. I look forward to growing into the best wife I can be for him, I just get nervous that I maybe won't... I love that you really stressed extending grace and love to self because though this transition is exciting and beautiful it is a big change and I need/should be patient with myself as God is preparing me. I look forward to the marriage series & hopefully I can watch them with my fiancé 😊 Thank you for the prayers too! I'll do my best to keep you & Tre in prayer too.

      Chanoukah Olivier congratulations on your engagement. I usually don't comment much but I read your post and felt moved to say something. This is a great period for you as this guy you love reciprocates that feeling for you and wants to do life with you. This should tell you, you too are just as important and essential in his life so take the pressure off your self a little. I'm still learning each day in my marriage and I have come to realize that whether we've been married 2months or 80yrs we all have very similar worries. But focus on being happy in yourself as a happy self brings so much light to the table and contributes to a happy marriage. There are areas where you might not be as strong and pray for the strength to allow yourself to acknowledge those weaknesses and then make a plan on how you will overcome them and of course seek help. Working on your shortcomings again will make you feel great and again allow you to enjoy your marriage. It all takes little steps but as long as you are moving and progressing and staying true to yourself and your values everything balances out. Good luck with your wedding planning and wish you all the best in your marriage

      @colivier09 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you @missT1806! I really appreciate your kind words and encouragement :) I will be more intentional about enjoying this process and being happy. With time, I am sure I will develop the qualities needed but I will just take it all one day at a time and just enjoy the journey to and in marriage. Thank you again.

    Opening up and asking your intimate partner what they like and how they feel is huge. Getting on the same page is key to happiness in and outside the bedroom!!!

    I love these videos, as a newlywed I completely understand trying to be the "perfect" wife and trying to please him in every way...and financial troubles. We are currently trying to work out these things...keep these videos coming! 😊

    Thank you Tia! I'm getting married this year and my fiance and I are already following these points. We ate friends and are planning our future spirituality, financially and discuss our expectations as as well how to balance our union and individuality. Thank you, this is confirmation.

    Thanks for being very opened especially sharing about intimacy. I'm still single so I feel when I'm married I can use some of what you have shared.

    This was an incredible video! Your openness and honesty really shows and I appreciate that so much! I am so grateful that I came across this video because I have a fear of #3. My relationship is in the same boat as you; where I am not experienced and he is. I would love to learn more about this topic, hear more of your advice and how you dealt with it, talked about it and what you overcame and how to best prepare before Marriage.

    Great video thank you for sharing. I am in agreement with the friendship relationship in marriage. My husband and I were friends before we were married and the friendship helps along with both our relationship with Jesus Christ. Marriage is a lot of work and can be very educational if both couples are open to learning. Your sharing in the videos shows you are both open to educating yourself about marriage and the couples events you both participated in through prior videos. We do couples events too. We love Weekend to Remember through FamilyLife Ministry. We will be married 11 years in March and we do educational couples events every year. Thanks for the marriage prayer too and my God continue to bless your marriage too.

    Tia, this was a beautiful video. My hubbs and I have been married for 27 years we were 26 when we married and my parents have been blessed to have 56 years😊. You are doing Gods work helping others set a Godly foundation for marriage. When both partners walk with the Lord it's sort of like having a leg up on marriage because we have God as our head, not that it makes it any less challenging Lol!!! But like you and Trey my hubbs and I started our marriage as best friends and had known one another since, in our case college. We both tell people who as us our secret that first there is no secret but openness, Consistent Communication, PATIENCE( Lord thank you for that one 😂😄) respect for each other, putting the others needs as priority and you have to actually LIKE one another ! We've met so many people who when it comes down to it, don't like their partner, so they don't really try in the relationship. Anyway, I've rambled on long enough🤗. Great job you're off to a great start🙏🏽 Blessings to you and your family.

    This video was so amazingly informative. I wish I would have had this insight before I got married 23 years ago. We went through all the challenges you presented. The most difficult was financial. We did not get married until I was 29 and my husband was 31. We were used to spending our money how we wanted without having to consult with someone else. We were making large purchases without the other persons knowledge. So we thought we had a certain amount in our account when we did not etc. of course this always ended up in an argument and causing a strain in our relationship. Luckily we got back on track, set down and tales about it and looked at ways to overcome this issue. It all worked out in the end and we are going Happily strong after 23 years of marriage. Thank you again for great info . I love you three to pieces
