can confirm cash generators still does exist in the uk (barely), im in the midlands and there's one near me, they have pretty good deals on obscure tech sometimes
It looks like the top and bottom halves of the logo are ultrasonically(?) welded together. Clearest sign (no pun intended) that there was never any intention of fixing these things, just manufactured landfill. -Either the screws were plan A (back in the conception phase when they might've still considered just bolting the thing shut) or, and I'm inferring malice here, an attempt to make it seem like a quality product when in reality it isn't (banking on the perception that visible screws are a mark of higher quality than something that is obviously just glued shut).- I don't know where I saw screws on the back of the logo, I might be going crazy; disregard the preceding sentence. All that aside, nice build! 👍 Love watching people get creative with console mods. Also, that was a sick jump! 😎
Thanks for the info! I did not know much about ultrasonic welding until your comment, I'm sure I've seen similar before, but after doing some research, I agree, that looks like the most plausible reason for my difficulties. So thank you for the education 🙏. After editing and uploading, I did wonder about the edge blemishes when I received it. The paranoia in me says someone had this before and tried to get into it, maybe for a secret stash box.. it would explain some of the ridge problems, but not the bits of plastic that continued to peel from the front. Who knows. It's living its best life now I hope 😄
see people its called a ps1 even sony calls it a ps1 and this person called it a ps1, the psx is the ps2 that is a hybrid, for real though anything that is all about modding a ps1 is cool to see love when people take unconventional things and turn it into consoles
UK Bringus Studios is not something I was aware I wanted to watch but here we are. Fantastic build, dear sir. You have earned yourself a sub.

"the italian job" well, I was today years old when I learned about that game.
Class, maybe put back in the led strip so it lights up when the PlayStation is powered on
There's a James out there smiling about this.

holy cow game graphics have come quite a long way since the early 2000's
Yeah man, early 2000s graphics were wild at the time though, much better than those filthy 90s graphics. And we sure have come a long way!
i do have this light and the front gets scratched ALL THE TIME feels cheap and plasticy.
at least it works
