He's such a liar... armen didn't accept on 6 weeks notice AFTER having a fight... Islam hasn't fought since October and refused to fight Justin in February. Islam just wants these short notice fights vs guys who either just fought or who has no camp.

The problem is refusing a title fight is risky because you never know what happens. Someone gets injured, they do a rematch if Dustin wins, Conor asks for title fight after winning, Max or Ilia Etc. Etc. So many things can happen and that is the risk Arman has to take by saying No, wether it’s short notice or not. This sport is not always “fair”.

It's commercial BJJ belts, they aren't of true value. Cool thing about BJJ is that you can attend it easily as an adult. Other sports like Sambo/Judo are olympic oriented (at least here where I am) so you need to be kid to attend. Not so cool is that some dojos give belt "for pretty eyes" so if this black belt competes somewhere controversy occurs where there are some true black belts like Oliveira and fake as Dustin.

I think Islam fancies his chances against Dustin...even in the standup. And I think he will attempt to show that...knowing that, if things get dicey, he always has his superpower in reserve. And bearing in mind that there is no-one in the LW division who can strike freely with Islam without worrying about being taken down. That changes lots of things.

@Tomakia8 i don't know about all the dagestanis but khabib and islam are not cherry pickers. Khabib was cleaning out the division and he was practically begging for a title shot, they really denied him until the last moment. Any other american would have gotten the title shot sooner.
For Makhacev, it was more or less the same. He even took the volkanovski rematch on short notice because oliveira preferred to get cut than getting whooped again. Tell me when the great jon jones ever took a short notice opponent.

Dustin is good at striking but not at grappling. Islam is defensively the best in his division. The only realistic way to beat Islam is to be proficient at both such as volkanovski. I realize he lost twice, but his take down defense is much better than Dustin's. Islam can negate Dustin's offensive striking with defensive striking, close the distance and take him down either on fence or in the middle of the octagon. Everyone has a punchers chance of winning but i don't see Dustin realistically knocking him out.
