- This song was written in 1972.
Kofia (كوفية) was a Swedish Palestine solidarity band from Göteborg that existed during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The group was founded and lead by the Palestinian singer/activist George Totari and was made up of Swedish musicians supporting the Palestinian cause. Many of them were members of a communist party in Sweden.

I’ve been living under so much propaganda growing up post 9/11, I’m just now learning about all of this.
As a person who’s grown up and lived on a Native American reservation my whole life, I hope for Palestine’s freedom as soon as possible. No one should live under colonialism, no one person deserves to grow up with generations of oppression.
You're not oppressed. You even got special rights in the USA. What kind of people, other than Europeans, have granted people they conquered MORE rights in history? Nobody. Usually you delete them from history if you conquer them. Learn hustory.
One could also argue jews have lived longer in that place than palestinians.
Back in the day, Israel suggested a two state solution, but the arabs nations refused it and attacked them instead - Israel won that war which resulted in them taking even more ground and that's the situation now.
But Israel of course is bombing civilians, and Palestinians attack their civiliasn back and that's how the circle continues.

I've seen protestors in Toronto roaring out the "Leve Palestina" part and every time I played it I sing the the chorus at the top of my lungs.
