    Wasn’t aware of that eyepiece that turns it into its own standalone thermal monocular, very cool! How much is that extra little adapter?
    Have you guys played with the new fusion thermal NV binos from infiray? FB I think it’s called?

    • @coldharboursupply
      @coldharboursupply  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find the eyepiece on our website.
      The JerryFB, from when we tested it, had some good ideas but the build quality and lens quality left a lot to be desired and as a result we are holding off until the next generation comes around. But it does scratch the thermal fusion itch a bit... Just understand that it is quite unrefined.

    Very professional video. I have the rh25 but it’s only good for hand held or as a clip on in front of an lpvo. Tried running with PVS 14 doesn’t work well. This looks great to clip on my binos

      What about running both pvs14 and the rh25 that put you off? I have a mh25 v2 and was thinking of getting a pvs14 to run next to it. I read that trying to see both at the same time made your head hurt

    Excellent overview. Do you think the CE2 sacrifices detection range?

    • @coldharboursupply
      @coldharboursupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      From our testing out to 500m, we did not see a difference. I don't imagine that you would. A lot of devices in iRay's line use 320 cores and they have detection ranges exceeding 1km. From our experience, the lens size matters more but in this case the CE5 and CE2 have the same lens size. I think iRay made a good move in terms of sizing down on the display on the CE2 rather than simply magnifying the smaller resolution core.

    • @RDT_IR
      @RDT_IR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@coldharboursupply That's great to hear, you might've saved me a grand. Last thing; the CE2 is a 384 core not 320, right? I think you say 320 in the vid but your website says 384

    • @coldharboursupply
      @coldharboursupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@RDT_IR You are correct.. we always default to "640" and "320" cores as those just seem like industry standard "buzzwords" but the CE2 is in fact a 384x288 core. (as you can imagine this is hard to remember)

    Awesome video, brother. I’ve read that the overlay of the C5/C2 can cause both temporary burns or permanent burn-in on a variety of tubes. L3 tubes seem to be the most sensitive to this and Elbit/Phototonis thin-filmed seem to be most resistant. Have you noticed anything like this before? I’m using L3 bino’s btw. No sense creating burn-in, and perhaps it is best to just buy a dedicated unit like the MH25 or RH25 (or ML19 for that matter).

    • @coldharboursupply
      @coldharboursupply  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your mileage may vary depending on what mode you're in, how bright your ambient light levels are and how high you have to turn the brightness on the JerryC to overcome that. Generally speaking we try to stay below 40% regardless of tube

      @@coldharboursupply very good to know. Truly Appreciate the swift reply. I’m running an N-Vision Halo X50 for my thermal today, which is fantastic. However, it’s big and sits on a heavy firearm. Really tough to scan with. Hence my question on the scanning optics. If you had a choice, based on a sole need for scanning brush/fields to ID (not necessarily PID with it), which would you pick between the ML19, MH25 V2, or RH25?

    • @coldharboursupply
      @coldharboursupply  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@garrickr5084 If weight is of no concern, then RH25. Otherwise MH25, but you will lose the ability to collimate your thermal to a night vision device if you're using it as a bridged hybrid setup.

      In our testing in practical scenarios we were able to see a human-sized target past 400m, but they looked more like a speck at that point. Keep in mind that the host device is 1x magnification and there's a limit to the pixel size.

    Does CE5 take its own exclusive battery cable or standard LEMO/FISHiER cable?
    For example, Lindu nvg take exclusive battery cable that does not compatible with other battery packs. . .

    • @coldharboursupply
      @coldharboursupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The CE5 takes its own proprietary cable, but we're looking to have an adapter made so you can use a standard LEMO or BNVD cable.

  • @aigeas666

    Is there a firmware upgrade so a CE2 (without Voltage change option in its menu) to be operated with a split cable from a BNVD Battery pack?

    • @coldharboursupply
      @coldharboursupply  ปีที่แล้ว

      We do not recommend powering the Jerry devices off of 3rd party battery packs using low-voltage cells due to substantially decreased battery life and voltage incompatability. The aftermarket splitters need a buck converter to be added.

    Could a clip-on thermal device overlay onto non-NV optics? For example, onto one of the objective lenses of a pair of binoculars, if you found a way of rigging it up. I'm thinking for highlighting well-camouflaged subjects (eg. birds).

    • @coldharboursupply
