I never really got it when people would say "your music saved my life!" but when I realised I was transgender- Against Me! did that for me. And now after being so bemused by all of the Lauras- I'm one of them. It's my middle name, because as I said I know so many fucking Lauras lmao that taking it as my first name would have been awkward, but I still took it.

I saw the last AM! show in Portland, Maine before they shut down the tour after just 2 dates in March of 2020. It's heartbreaking to think that I likely was seeing the last AM! show ever.

I saw this whole thing as " we will never sell out." Then they sold out. Their hardcore fans left, and he had a mental breakdown. With no identity remaining, in a final cry for attention, he decided he was trans. When your identity IS your sexuality, you become a shallow, waste of space.

Wears inappropriate clothes to important meetings. Overwhelming smell of cigarettes and cheap perfume. Openly brags about sexual exploits. Orgies, floggings, porn shoots. Then theres the actual sexual harassment that you endure. If you speak up? Transphobic.
