I hate Pecan Pie…but I love Pecan Pi!! Orchard audio is still the best amplifier I’ve heard. I’m not surprised at all that their dac sounds that great. Excellent job on the build.
Excellent Love watching your build I DIY speakers but not components I am very happy with my Orchard Audio DAC Did not get the streamer but it is an excellent 4499 DAC 🙏🙏🙏
That's a tough question to answer. There a lot of great plans out there. Or if you design your own, the possibilities are limitless. SB Acoustics makes high end drivers, Purifi also makes excellent drivers. Scanspeak, and so many more. For me, most of the affordable kits & plans sound good enough, not to want to spend thousands on drivers alone.
@@DIYhyfy Thanks for the quick reply , I have got a few months to kill. Can you suggest something with a budget of around 3-4K. Something that I can build and call it a lifetime achievement. I noticed that you are more of a Wood/Design guy , if I may take the liberty to suggest ... then I will recommend to pick up learning CAD and some electronics. Both skills will go a long way with you.
The 7$ Apple dongle DAC does the same fucking thing. Don't waste your time glamorizing D/A conversion. It's a solved issue, and not worth taking any more time or money away from parts of the system that ACTUALLY matter.
While this is flatly wrong, it also ignores all of the technical benefits I described for myself. Both RCA & Balanced, Huge Headroom, Compact, Affordable.
@@DIYhyfy The technical benefits are pointless, human ears can't tell. You're just emotionally entangled in the hobby and a slave to your ego and subconscious biases. I guarantee you will never in your life be able to reliably tell the difference between two functional DACs of any kind. You're fantasizing.

It's crazy how good it sounds right? They were ALL over the place at a recent show.
Leo with Orchard Audio is great, I had the pleasure of meeting him in person here in Arizona a couple years ago.
He was super nice to work with. This DAC sounds incredible. I'm pretty skeptical of big improvements from electronics, but this blew my mind.
Very informative and educational video.
Liked the video. The extra power of the XLR connection I am sure makes a difference.
Definitely!
Good work! I had a PT1 with my Emotiva amp. Upgrading the DAC was a massive improvement.
Truth!
Thank you for your time and effort.
What speakers are you using ? If you have a no budget hold , then what speaker would you be building ? What choice of drivers would you be using ?

You're absolutely wrong, troll. You're just broke.
