What’s good brotha just seen your allroad build from a few years ago I’m trying to get a list of parts for everything needed to build the exact same exhaust on mine cause it sounds to good not to have on my own 😂
hi jake! interested in a longer opinion on the DTR vs IS38. im about to pull the trigger on one off those 2 for mi GTI. what do you think about the spool of the DTR? it is that much diferent? its my hardcore daily. im usually doing 85% of city driving. i love the numbers of the dtr, dont want to loose the fun of driving the car every day. i feel the DTR has to be an in-beween the is38 and the Vortex std. if that makes sense.. what do you think now that you have expeienced both? Thanks for th help jake!💯💪
Vortex std is a league above the DTR, which is comparable to the is38. Is38 spools a little quicker & the DTR pulls a little harder to redline. All three have their place in the market for sure, it just depends on if you want it to feel quick, be quick, or actually put down impressive numbers. DTR will feel quick, is38 is quick, and Vortex is the way to go if you wanna run impressive 1/4 mile times & making 400+ on the dyno. For a daily driver that sees the mountains & track days I love my is38 as a good all around’er. Not saying the other two don’t fit that bill, you’d be basically splitting hairs on daily use, but the is38 is the OEM+ champ for obvious reasons & FCP Euro selling them with a lifetime warranty is just icing on the cake. The best value if you’re starting from scratch is the DTR, since tuning is included.
I’ve been putting off radiator & oil cooler upgrades (real ones, not the Mickey Mouse versions on the market currently), so that would be the next mod before adding more power. On the street coolant and oil temps aren’t an issue, but 20 minutes track sessions they are.
Nice work, sounds and looks good. I'm just getting ready to install the DTR6054 on my Stage II 16 GTI.
It’ll be night & day faster from 5,000 RPM thru redline!
Give it some real fueling mods and a real tune and it'll move out pretty well.

GESI cat, Vibrant 17950 resonator, QTP valve & Borla XS Pro muffler. It’s expensive, but sounds awesome!

@@BaunPerformance thanks for your answer jake!
so if you had to build your GTI again from scratch, would you choose the DTR over the IS38?

First like normal. Carbon.
