Conspiracy - How to Play 🎲 and Is It a Gem? 💎

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 31 ก.ค. 2024
- The name Conspiracy might suggest to a hobbyist a game of liars and traitors, but there are no such player shenanigans. In fact, it's a hidden bidding game. The board features several agents, loyal to no one, to whom you can secretly send money. Any player can give an order to any agent, with the end goal of bringing the top-secret briefcase to their HQ for the win. But any other player can challenge an order, and when such a conflict arises, the agent will listen to the player who had already bribed them the most. Be careful not to reveal that you've sent gobs of money to a single agent, or they may become the target of assassination!
If BoardGameGeek is accurate, this past year is Conspiracy's 50th anniversary! It's had many editions (and names) in that span. The most recent one is Conspiracy: The Solomon Gambit from Restoration Games, which has some nice streamlining and an alternate endgame condition to keep the game (maybe a little too) brief.

I absolutely love it. By the way, the casablanca version has rules for up to 8 players (winner isn't the player who brings the suitcase to their homebase, but the player with the most money on the agent who brought the suitcase to any base. I played it once with this many players and it was still great.
I am so happy you have looked at this. I tried to play this before (original) and was struggling. This helps a ton.
I think the main issue with this game is that if you don't trust the other players, it's rather easy to cheat.
Re finding similar games, I'd say Kremlin is a relative.
When I first discovered this game, it was in a book. I had no idea where to find a copy, so I created a board by drawing on an old wall map of Europe lines that looked quite similar to the ones on the modern board.
A game like it (but more complex) would be In Too Deep from what I know of it.
Enjoyed this one. I need to try this game some time. Killer content as always my man 🙌
I may need to get this updated version. Almost picked it up one year at Origins but didn’t.
Just found this at Dollarama in Vancouver for $5
Great deal! I think I might have paid about that at Value Village for the old MB edition. 😁
That's why I'm here, Dollarama giving to Canada for all the taxes, import fees, shipping fees and dollar conversion rate...lol
