I’m editing since i’m sixteen but it never helped me more than when I lost my mum to cancer in 2018. Now, my fan-videos often have a link with grief and loss. I can’t help myself of seeing a lot through this perspective. I already did two videos about the feelings of grief. With this one, I wanted to show how much dreams can be a big part of grief. I remember in early grief when I dreamt of just speaking to my mum. I also had vivid nightmares where she was sick or dying. I was waking up and sometimes, for a second, I felt the relief of thinking “this is just a dream”. Except it wasn’t. It will be three years in May and I can’t even believe that it’s been that long. It feels like she’s still there.

It's incredible, the way you managed to put this video together. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I could feel your pain and it made me feel very sad for you. It's so hard to lose a loved one and losing them through cancer is another level of awful. I barely manage to edit these days because of much pain I'm dealing myself. You know when sometimes some videos are so good that you feel almost... too intimidated to comment? That's how I feel here. I wanted to take my time to really think about what I was going to comment because the power this holds... wow. But in the end words still fall short. In terms of editing, the parallels, the general progression of the vid, the voiceovers... everything is perfect. The moment where you move to the special theme of the video, about seeing the person and wondering whether it's real or not, and about waking up... that's what got to me the most. We're talking about a universal subject, that you can find a lot in art, and yet you managed to make it feel so new, so sincere and so raw. This is so powerful and sad. I’m so sorry about your mom, I lost a person really important to me too and I know how editing about grief can help you with that. Losing people sometimes is part of life and even if is unfair, we have to live with that and enjoy the little moments. I remember seeing my grandma in the window one day and after that, I feel that she is always with me. Your mom is with you too.
