On a spring day in 1987, Bill Kuhlmann went from relative obscurity to being one of the most recognizable names in fast doorslammer drag racing. Kuhlmann, the acknowledged darkhorse in the race to 200 miles per hour for a full-bodied car, achieved the feat during the IHRA Winternationals.
Kuhlmann had his skeptics, but in the end, he also delivered on drag racing's first 200 mph doorslammer.
Finally got Mr 200 on Story Tellers!! Now we need a full episode 💪🏻

I'm old enough to remember the early days of Pro Mod. Kuhlman, Carpenter, McCamis, Cannon just to name a few. Still my favorite class
