      Thank you so much. Painting, in general, has been such good therapy for me. It is so relaxing and enjoyable. Having a purpose for the paintings I choose makes me work harder to finish them.

    Thank you for the tips. I lost my little brother when he was 16yrs old. I understand how objects, events, places can trigger memories of our lost ones.

      It never gets easier, but somehow painting and these kinds of creative projects seem to help us work through some of those triggers, don’t they? ❤️

    Omg.... I feel so bad and really embarrassed. I think you might remember me from the other day when I had a rant about you due to me having a bad day with bi polar. Then I watch this and learn about your son. I have s son whose 24 and he's my life. I can't even begin to imagine what you went through. Yet you was so gracious and accepted my apology. If anything now I will stop and think before I speak and you have taught me a lesson. Just cause I'm struggling and you're on TH-cam doung great videos, you never know what someone is going through. As women we ate good at covering how we feel. But I was rude and you had done nothing to warrant what I said. So thank you so so much for teaching this to me. I love you're videos and as a newbie painting by numbers you have taught me a lot. I have tried 5d art, crochet. Knitting but 5d was too much for me and the crochet & knitting I think you need good wool to achieve good quality items and it can be expensive but painting by numbers is the one for me. I love it. But sometimes lol I get a bit bored and start another before I finish lol. Once again thank you so much. If I have questions I will definitely ask you. Big hugs and thanks again xx

    Hi....very new subscriber here. I found you because I've been wanting to try out paint by numbers. I've watched so many videos so that I'm prepared for my first kit, but yours are by far my favorite. You give so many great and detailed tips, especially for beginners. I can't wait to use your tips on my paintings. I definitely want to try out this company at some point too. Such a great video and I love that you are so real. It saddened me to hear about you losing your son. I am so sorry and cannot imagine. What an awesome blessing it was to have found that pirate painting. Can't wait to see it completed.

    I love the Christmas one and the street scene. They ate lovely. The most I've paid is £16 and the least is £6.99. But I so enjoy them although the dearer one the paint is so amazing. I don't buy the canvas on a frame. I just get the piece of canvas but I'm starting to think when I really like a picture I might buy it on canvas but it's £30 but I wonder what can I do with them all when finished. I might give to charity xx

      tina werner thank you! May is now a rough month with Mother’s Day, Logan’s birthday, my birthday 3 days later, my husband’s birthday, the anniversary of his mother’s death, and the anniversary of his father’s death. Two years ago on 5/5 we got married, so that I could make the month a “better place” to be.

      Oh honey, I am sorry to hear that. 🥺 It is so excruciatingly painful to lose a child. No one understands the magnitude of that kind of loss unless they experience it themselves.
      Over the past 18 months, my oldest sister was suing me for my home and trying to have me evicted. We had to pack everything up, and put it in storage. We haven’t brought it back yet, because my father passed away in October, and my siblings could try to come after my house again. I’m living out of boxes & nothing hung on the walls. I did do a video of all of my completed pieces and my works-in-progress. It’s unfortunate that I can’t even hang up my paintings 😔. Here is the video to see what I’m working on...th-cam.com/video/tzUMpMQIFBk/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Melanie. I ordered the skull from masterpiece. I love it. I found your channel after I had almost completed it so I found out about putting gesso on it after the fact. I agree that it would have helped with the pores of the canvas. Thank you so much for the tip. Just another tip to pass along on this particular painting. I used magnifying glasses with a light to ensure all the fine detail work. It is very detailed and small. Your favorite small detail brushes are perfect for this piece. By the way.....everyone should know the final turned out awesome.

      I may never get to finish that piece, but that is a great tip for anyone working on the paintings with the tiny openings! I will be recording a “Paint & Chat” where I will use a very detailed painting. I’ll be sure to mention that!

    Hi Melanie... I just wanted to share with u how I found ur channel...I'm a puzzle queen and have done so many that I needed a break... I became intrigued by the Paint by Numbers so I began watching YT videos....ur tips & tricks sold me...I've ordered two both framed bc I had concerns and thought framed would be easier to paint...i bought the items u suggested (Gesso and brushes). Here's the funny thing and will make u laugh...I've had a cross stitch piece I've put off finishing for years... I told myself I must finish that piece which is 70% done before I can begin my paint by number venture...I've come to enjoy ur videos no matter the content 💕💕💋 thank u

    I started a Masterpiece By Number about 2 weeks ago. I used clear gesso. I tried flow aid. I tried light modeling paste. Nothing has worked to improve the opacity of the paint. I am really disappointed in it, especially since I paid $59 for the mounted canvas. I don’t have a lot of money, so this was supposed to be a real treat for me. 🙁 In my opinion, paint-by-numbers we’re much better when they came with oil paints.

    Hi, is your Princeton detail brush tip stiffer? i find that so many are pointy, yet too soft and bendy when they hit the canvas. Do you know what I mean? I am always searching for the perfect brush. How did your Chicago Craft- Ease go? I find that it has a million things wrong with that particular kit. I really enjoyed Chaperon Rouge by Craft- Ease. I ordered two more from Craft-Ease and hoping that Chicago was a lemon.

    I am touched by your story, thank you for sharing it. I am brand new to paint by number, I just ordered some yesterday and I am watching all your videos. I wonder about putting the canvas on some sort of backer board? I thought I saw you with one that had adhesive. Any suggestions???

      Beth Evelyn Barber thank you. It was difficult to talk about. For those who can’t dry mount their painting, I’ve been suggesting my favorite Sketching/Drawing board. It’s perfect to hold the painting, and it has clips to secure it in place. I have a link for it in the description, and that should take you right to it. I don’t know if TH-cam let’s me put that link here.

    I'm about to finish my first paint by number, do we sign our paint by number or no?

    • @MelanieBsCreativeStudio
      @MelanieBsCreativeStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure you should! You may not be the original artist, but you did your own artwork and added your own creativity to it. I sign & date mine, because if I am going to pass it down to my kids or grandkids, I want my name & the date to be on it for archival purposes. You can always sign the back instead, if it makes you feel better to not have it on the front. ☺️

    I notice when you paint, it almost appears that you use your paintbrush like a pen. Do you? I shake very bad and have a hard time staying in the lines on bad days... usually I just don’t paint those days (I have tumours that cause pain and pressure on my nerves), but I’m wondering if were to change how I hold the brush or how I make the stroke if it would help with the consistency of how much paint is applied and maybe even me staying in the lines... haha. Is short quick strokes better. How much paint should I be applying? Thank you so much for these tutorials. PS. I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t even begin to imagine. No words could ever provide the comfort you need, but I sure wish I had them.

    • @MelanieBsCreativeStudio
      @MelanieBsCreativeStudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do tend to hold my paintbrush like a pen for paint by number paintings, because I get more control for the small openings. I use short strokes and go in one direction. I don’t have to use a lot of paint, because I use the Flow-Aid to thin it out some. It seems to cover so much better that way.
      Thank you for the comment about my boy. It never gets easier, I can tell you that.

    The service I received from this company was appalling. I ordered a custom kit and the day before the 8 week delivery period it was promised to be delivered in, I was messaged to be told there's something wrong. Before this period I messaged them 2/3x just for updates on the order. I was told it's coming were sorting it. Then after I aired my complains they dropped my order. Very very rude I dealt with Nancy was very very rude. When you deal with these companies you expect a professional approach not an immature one.

      @MelanieBsCreativeStudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! I totally agree! The 4 orders I’ve placed now from Masterpiece by Numbers have shipped within 24 hours and I have received them within a week. I have not, however, ever ordered a custom piece, but I will definitely keep that in mind when or if I ever do! Many of the companies I have done reviews on have really been horrible since the pandemic started. The companies I loved before are not on my “trusted sites” list. I’m waiting to do a video about that until things get back to normal. It’s gotten crazy!!

    • @asimkhan1020
      @asimkhan1020 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MelanieBsCreativeStudio I thought it's one of those family companies and you'd expect good service etc. I'd rather have been told earlier look it's gonna take more time to do your order. I didn't appreciate being told it's coming it's coming and then 1 day before the 8 week period told it's not and had order dropped. Extremely poor service! Very much looking forward to my order. If it was a case of too difficult to replicate by all means tell me. But the fact that they just dropped the order was very very very poor

      Don't let one bad review put you off, Waiting on Elvis! I've ordered off this company several times during the pandemic and even though I'm in the UK, they've arrived very promptly! Custom orders, in any business, can encounter unexpected problems at any stage of the process, and it's not fair to base an opinion on someone's else single bad experience. Good customer service is paramount but everyone has an off day and we don't know the full details, or both sides of the story. I'm going to order a custom piece off them shortly and have no qualms about doing so....
