Thanks so much 72-year-old woman Rider here. Trying to get my bike started crf150f. 2005. I wish I had electric start cuz I'm almost too old to kick it over
Helped me out of a bind, thanks for the video. Got my son a crf150f 2005 for his birthday and the last owner left gas in it. Float stuck and I got a rebuild kit. First time doing a carb.
Question, same bike. 1/4 throttle is fine but 1/2 and full throttle bogs and dies if I hold at full throttle. Spark plug is dry fouling ( carbon billd up )
I use a strand bicycle derailleur cable it is just as thin but much stiffer and works a lot better. Also on the 50s and 70s sometimes I will heat the slow jet with a torch first
My CRF keeps bogging down and wont stay on. cleaned the carb, and filter. Gonna pick up a spark plug tomorrow. Otherwise what do you think it could be?
Thanks. I just rescued an 07 CR-150F out of a hot texas garage where it was sitting long time? More than a year. Needs some work. Carb clean out is 1st thing I’ll be doing, I can get it to run enough to ride it up the street and back but I can tell carb isn’t working correctly. However bike does have faint oil smoke in the exhaust, so once carb, oil, air filter, spark plug are serviced and clean fuel if it continues this I assume it’s worn rings? Could I get away with a refresh? Putting some slightly oversized rings in it?
Thanks for a great video. How is the hip? I had a hip replacement 2 years ago, it was life changing (for the better). And does the CRF150F have a fuel filter? Mine sometimes starves for fuel and I wonder if this could be the cause.
I split the cases on a 2007 CRF150F. When I spit them I didn't see a gasket only a few spots were there was some Permatex residue. Pulled up a diagram that does not list one it only listed gaskets for the case covers and I called a Honda dealer who couldn't pull a part number or see a gasket for between the cases either.
Silly question, there is no obvious way to remove the fuel screw on my 2013 CRF 150f. I have cleaned out the entire carburetor except that. Any advice?
@@highlandcycles I just picked up a hardly ridden 2013 CRF150F for my 13 year old son. It looks like a great bike. I love the old Honda XR. Having owned an XR200R, XR50, CRF100 & a CRF230F.
my car will run on any gas per mix left over but small engines won't I can't keep up 4 tear downs so far 1 waiting for me only preamum unleaded drain down end of season TKS your cool
I have a all stock 2017CRF Honda 230 F, i want to switch to a uni air filter, will it require rejeting of the carburetor?? It's all stock zero modifications. Thanks
hey what do you guys use in the ultrasonic cleaner other then water for cleaning carbs??? and what temp setting ???? I just purchased one and have yet to use it
AJ Re in this video it's some green soap. Not simple green but similar. But I actually like Fabuloso the best. It's available at Walmart or amazon. It's floor cleaner but it's amazing on Aluminum. It cleans the best I have ever used. I was just out. As far as temp, I do 60 degrees C
Great video! Just bought the same bike. Runs with the choke on, dies off at an idle. Need to clean the carb I know, but it also backfires? Coincidence? Or something else?
Awesome video; I wish I could take my bike to you for repair. So I got a question I hope you can help me with; My 2016 Honda CRF 150F was running fine until today when I took it out; its spitting and putting in 1st and 2nd gear. It will go a short distance and then come to almost a complete stop like its losing power. It will run with me giving it gas but if I take my hand off the throttle it shuts off. I thought it might be old gas but I completely drained it and replaced it with high octane gas...any ideas what could be going on?
Might have something stuck in the float valve holding it open making it flood. That is just a guess but it sounds like you need to take the carb apart. I would also check the spark plug. Might have fouled it somehow
Really great video here - thanks for posting. Have a question on this exact bike as the situation was quite similar (sitting a long time etc). Everything is running, idle set (per your recommendation), air filter new, new plug. Starts excellent and maintains idle. Now when I crack the throttle, it just dies. If I lightly crack the throttle, it’s totally fine. Is this normal or is there an adjustment to make somewhere? It might also be important to note there is a FMF slip on pipe (power core 4) on it…. Anyway, I know it’s not a performance bike and all and if it’s just something we have to live with (light cracks on the throttle), that’s all good but just had to ask hoping you might have an answer or suggestion. Thx in advance.
@@mattwinsor3784 Glad to help. Try going to your local shop that carries Protaper and ask them to ask their rep to get you one. They are usually happy to do that.
HighlandCycles thanks for share! Do you remember what is the number jets for that motorcycle or that carburetor? for that engine 150cc whats jets could be lean, stoich or rich? thanks again!
I don't remember. I will look and see if I have it recorded.

@@highlandcycles thanks for your time here! Thing is about jetting my XR150L so crf150 supose to have better jetting... my though it was just to compare and reference data. XR150L comes jet #35 and #102 little lean afr after spark plugs readings... Here in Colombia south america, is not easy get lamda or afr reading machines and spark plug reading knoweledge is not optimal... even plug chop runs and reading for main jetting is not known here! I know many things take care in jettting, like diameter carburetor air flow and more but a great knoweledge could say what a 150cc jets range need to be safe. Hey man, I just bought a used 2004 crf150f and there’s a few things wrong with it.. it has a really hard time idling without choke and seems to be running lean since I checked the plug and it’s pretty white at the tip of the plug. Also when I try to start the bike the kick start lever kicks back and hurts my foot all the time, Any idea what could cause this? Thanks
Most times when bike was sitting long time and it only runs on choke it’s a plugged pilot jet. You need to clean the entire carb but especially remove main jet and pilot jet and run the carb file(wire) through them to make sure they are clean. Carb wire tool is a few $s on Amazon.

You have to drill out the aluminum plug that is over it. Be careful
Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve been doing a little research and apparently it is a D shaped head on it, which requires a special tool to remove.

My bike won’t start and I had just taken it for a run the day before ? What should I do ? Electric start CRF 150f
Man, not sure. Check the battery cables.
highlandcycles thank ! I didn’t know where to start
I have that exact same dirt bike and mine will crank up but doesn’t idle and cuts off what do you think the problem could be?
Brandon Lindler most likely the carb needs to be cleaned well.
So where is the fuel screw on this bike I have one too but it bigs
It is the brass screw on the bottom of the carb that is towards the motor and in the center (left to right)
