Similar concept is already done in a marathi movie called "mala aai vhayachay" which this movie is a remake of (done by the same director). That one is also a beautiful movie. Since you haven't watched any marathi movies, you can consider this original one. Though original seems more emotional, this one seems to have lot more comedic elements.

I loved what Jaby said about Indian movies.. whether it's Bollywood or the beautiful regional cinema..the stories here do have a lot of heart that actually connects with the normal people of the heartland with beautiful music to go with it. They grope you with beautiful illusions but keep a firm grip on the reality as well if that makes sense.

I am so happy Kriti is finally getting such good roles where she can prove herself, cuz she is really talented, period. She just wasn't getting the right opportunities like eg. alia bhatt. But yess, after bareli ki barfi, she's going to prove herself this time too.

you know the point is that we want what is being made on ur side is what we want and vice versa.
I also agree with the fact that they showed the entire movie in the trailer....they should have kept some suspense for us .... Which would bring us to watch the movie...but there isn't any suspense left......as they have shown the whole movie in just 3 min.

Why are you considering this film as a thriller film? Why are you obsessed with "plot twist" or "suspense". It's a plain simple drama-comedy, focused on "how" factors not on "what next" or "why" factors.
Okay what if there is more "suspence" in the film but just because you saw one you are considering there can't be any more? Alternatively if they didn't show this particular twist, what if you've said it's repetitive cliche comedy film, what's new or catchy here??? It can go either way

OMG I've been waiting for this movie since early 2020! It was pushed back because of covid. They were finishing the shooting around March when the pandemic hit. As soon as I read about the topic and saw the casting I was super interested. I love Kriti Sanon and I hope she gets really good roles and I love Tripathi too. Yeah the trailer shouldn't have shown that much but honestly I'm still super hyped! 😃😃😃

There was another film about surrogacy in India by the name of Chori chori chupke chupke that did gain some popularity but lost its tone after sometime
I was thinking back to that film when the promo started. But I guess with time this went down the international surrogacy in comedic effect.

This movie 'Mimi' is a remake of 2011 National Award Marathi Feature Film "Mala Aai Vhaichay" which means I want to become a Mother. Original Marathi movie is purely innocent, emotional and touchy. You guys should watch that first.
Dasaratham, Malayalam movie talked about surrogacy in 1989. similarly Badai ho came in 2018 only, but Pavithram, again a Malayalam movie, dealt with same topic way back in 1994. both movies featured Mohanlal. actually there was something called surrogacy tourism, which is currently banned.
