There is no counter to this btw, people have tried ddos attacks from outside North america and the eu and those are even easier to stop and then track back. Also to get past a proper ddos protection we’re talking about (easily) $10k+ worth of attacks, these bums aren’t going to put more than a couple thousand into it.

I’m 4 and a half minutes in and this still hasn’t been said so I’m gonna say it. The bots exist because the account paid for membership. Jagex has a conflict of interest with preserving game integrity but also being profitable. If they ban every bot, that’s a membership that won’t renew. If they don’t ban every bot, the game will turn degenerate. So they are stuck having to hover around this middle ground.
I don’t think I am alone on this - I would rather pay 20-25$ a month for membership knowing the game is clean of any bots, DDOSers, etc. Mod Mark has been in an interview saying BOTs are just a part of the game. Keep in mind this is how Jagex staff is trained to think on the subject. So a culture shift needs to happen from the top down

My main and Ironman got banned during DMM. They said I was botting but I wasn’t lol. The appeal was denied and they said they had evidence….. I wasn’t botting though so how do they have evidence? Never had an offense. Wouldn’t start botting just for DMM gains.

Jagex is violating its own player agreement/terms of service by allowing this stuff. Especially in a cash prize tournament. Especially in a game we all pay cash value to play. They should be class actioned at this point in my opinion.
Back in 2010's RoT was actually more enjoyable. I was part of a singles clan that was mostly RoT for a short while, dishonorable things happened but at a much much lower rate. It's been a shame watching them degrade more and more over time killing off the PvP community. If you could completely erase that group of individuals from the game then the wilderness would have a chance of coming back to life.

Working with Jed to rig multiple DMMs by telling them the final multi location, Jed telling them about the skull mechanic at Revs and them holding shit hostage, DDOSing 1v1s in DMM, CONSTANT IRL threats against people, and now this multibox botting shit. They are the #1 reason why PVP is dying.

Multi shouldn't be an option for a DMM finale and is in desperate need of a rework regardless. Playing solo, the only viable option is to stand on top of streamers and clan leaders. As for the main game, it's a stupid idea that an infinite number of players can pile you. Your name or skill are irrelevant at that point. Need to rework that to a 3-4 person limit.

And banning the whole team is not really feasible since people can just argue there bad apples they dont know and just met online ingame, how would they be held responsible?
