Joey was still the drummer at this point and didn't leave until a few years later. Joey's was great in this one but you also gotta give props to Mick and Jim for this one as well for the guitars. Its not a easy one and tires the hell out of your arm.

I freaking LOVE the intro with Corey and Lars! Hahahaha... I have NEVER understood how Slipknot was put in the nu-metal genre... To me they sound like a progressive Thrash / Hardcore hybrid. Like how Soundgarden ended up in the grunge genre, it just makes zero sense to me! Soundgarden is so obviously heavy metal in the Black Sabbath school.

I freaking LOVE the intro with Corey and Lars! Hahahaha... I have NEVER understood how Slipknot was put in the nu-metal genre... To me they sound like a progressive Thrash / Hardcore hybrid. Like how Soundgarden ended up in the grunge genre, it just makes zero sense to me! Soundgarden is so obviously heavy metal in the Black Sabbath school.

@@p-slipknotfreak But they don't really do much of rapping or scratching, do they? I mean you can count that on one hand, and it's all in their first album. Sure they have that going on but my god the riffs and the playing is more Slayer than Linkin Park!

By now Slipknot has done everything from total thrash to hardcore to soft almost Pink Floydish landscapes. You shouldn't EVER use "nu-metal" to introduce a band man lol. That is a swearword imo. In the end of the 80's the black people listening to mostly rap where I lived started wearing "..and Justice For All" Metallica shirts, because they identified with that chuggy sound and those lyrics. Don't underestimate people bro!

At first he thought it was just screaming and now bc he played drums back in his day he can totally appreciate the beautiful drumming and can appreciate all the different percussion parts.

Best one from the album man. The title track is a close second but man this one is so hard to play it’s probably never gonna be played live. I mean if it already hasn’t been then… probably no chance.
