Is Marcellus planning to invade it using the map and Brad was really a part of the What secret service sent to retrieve it? Why would Marcellus wish to invade What? Is there oil in What? Is Marcellus planning to invade it himself or is he working with the US government? Does this lead to an alternate history where the Iraq invasion never happened because America already had access to the vast amounts of oil in What?

it was just a small sylistic choice. the briefcase holds no importance to the story. they must have thought that showing the viewer gold, jewels or cash inside the case would be less interesting than showing the characters reaction to whats inside.

It doesn't make much sense why someone who has so much power would trust people who are similar with precious metals such as pure gold or perhaps even worse - pure gems such as diamonds or maybe even jewellery

It's funny, I've heard lots of reviewers talk about it, but never any fans. I'm the same as you, I never really thought about it, which makes me feel it's a pure mcguffin- we care about he characters, the characters care about the briefcase.

Yeah, that's thing. As the video points out, it's barely even a maguffin, just a thing that exists in the story.
Yup. The only people who seem to want to dissect what's in the case are TH-cam movie vlogs. The rest of us know it's a simple device that kicks off a larger story, and nothing more. It's more interesting and less cliched than a briefcase full of money, but hardly central to the story.
Right, +Thomas... No one is really "seeking" the briefcase's contents. It's an errand Jules was sent on & he's fulfilling it.
A McGuffin (or maguffin as I was taught) is something everyone is vying to get. E.g. The Maltese Falcon. HoneyBunny didn't even know it existed 'til he stumbled on it during the restaurant robbery... and... he can leave it behind.

I was actually on set handling the lighting for this scene.. so I know exactly what was in that case.. it was Marcellus’s dirty laundry.. a gold set of his and hers thongs.. they were being taken by Jules and Vincent to get cleaned..

When the briefcase opens up, LEDs mounted in the inside wall of the briefcase (which are connected to a battery) turn on. The light emitting diodes help illuminate the solid gold bricks inside the case: creating an obvious golden glow.

The golden glow was a clean glow meaning it was reflecting a smooth same surface like 2 gold bars w a gold mace in middle[ ie not a cluster of glowing golden nuggety or diamondy stuff which would show a fragmented glow etc.

I think what you see in the case can help you expand on what the entire movie is actually about. That’s the beauty. Your perception of the story and the outcome can be decided by the contents of the case

Pulp Fiction is my favorite movie and to be fairly honest, i don't really care whats in the briefcase! Tarantino himself also stated that its whatever we'd like it to be. So for my eyes it should be something related with the Devil.
I have a personal theory for this: it can be anything.
Let me explain: it can be anything. A fancy weapon, a lot of money or something of good value, the soul of Marcelus, or even the result of the robbery that the gang of Reservoir Dogs achieved. And that's the purpose of the briefcase. Making you imagine what's inside and building theories of what's inside. If anybody discovers what is in there, all the interest on the briefcase (and its purpose) will be lost, and it will be from now then just a boring briefcase.
What’s in the briefcase depends on what someone thinks is in it, so it can technically be whatever you want.
But what was REALLY in that briefcase was just sum lightbulbs & a battery

From the starting of the movie till its end I thought that it contained blocks of Gold hence the yellow shine. I am startled to see why this video contains conspiracy about a soul but blocks of gold inside it.
Nothing...it was always meant to be a mystery maguffin so any conjecture is purely speculative. There is not supposed to be a definitive answer, choose your own adventure like the fade to black in the Sopranos finale.

There was another macguffin in the movie. It worked as a foil for Marsellus's own briefcase to the point that it led to Butch's eventual triumph over a fictional Los Angeles underworld. Notably, it was described as an uncomfortable hunk of metal. It's meaning, however, was thoroughly explained... in great detail.

So when I say Kill Bill in theaters the scene where the bride tells Vivca a fox's character how they would be square a dotted square appears like in Pulp Fiction but every other version I've seen is missing the box. Did any one else see the dotted box in kill bill?
To me it was always just gold. The characters that look into it are ultimately greedy, criminal individuals. Vincent stands in silence contemplating whether or not to take this life-changing amount of money, while Ringo thinks he just became unbelievably rich.

ill be very frank, i literally didn't even know there was a "new" narrator until comments made it a thing, but why does it even matter? the narrator is doing very well and the content is equally as amazing and in depth.

I love Pulp Fiction but I've never been able to work out what it's actually about.
Its about life. How the strangest things connect and how your choices matter. You see multiple forms of people just living their life. And how the weirdest shit connected them and got them into strange situations.
At least that's what i got from it.
I think it meant to be GOLD. The light projection and color would match and the look on the characters faces reminds me to the astonishment like in Kelly's Heroes as they uncover the gold in the bank.

In an attempt to get true surprised reactions from the characters it. Was gold foil around the edges along with LED lights over it with a PlayBoy magazine opened to the center fold in the middle.
