Goodbye KLM MD-11!!!!!! Thank you for 20+ years of service!!!!! I loved seeing you fly into JFK on rare occasions. You will be missed very much. Perhaps your scrap metal may turn into a washing machine that I may buy someday. Once again thank you for your service. The MD-11 is my second all time favorite. I'm glad FedEx still has them flying. Thanks Dan!!! Very lucky for you. That was awesome to be able to go to the cockpit to visit, and take a picture. I love doing that, all my flights, I always visit the cockpit.
Wow, what a quite emotional video for those who are die hard aviation enthusiasts. Such a shame to see the MD-11 leave passenger flights. The MD-11 is such an iconic aircraft. Awesome video .. Liked.
I never flew ever ever on a DC-10 or an MD-11. I am kind of pissed ;-( Great video as usual :-) I love those large opening windows in the MD-11 cockpit, must be very useful if one wants to clean these @ 40,000 feet :-)
I thought this was a very, very good video, it explained everything on the md 11 and I would like to thank it for its service as I flew from Montreal to Amsterdam the following day
I enjoyed the format of the video and also your commentary. It would have been good to include the take-off from AMS seeing it was the last ever commercial flight the plane would make from there. KLM has always had a good reputation for its inflight service, and glad to see that they still deliver it. Thank you for sharing a historical experience such as this.
massive bummer I never got to fly on an MD-11, naysayers of the MD-11 will point to the DC-10's shortcomings but once those issues were fixed it became a very safe airplane. I have no doubt that the MD-11s still flying today are still very safe airplanes, otherwise they wouldn't be flying even for cargo
Thanks for sharing a part of history with all of us avgeeks it's really sad to see the MD-11 go for KLM I wish I could have been on it for the last flight ! Amazing video
I remember when I was at Schiphol airport and saw 3 KLM MD-11s before they retired. I feel so sad that they're no longer in commercial service any more. I miss them a lot now and never ever had a chance to fly on one. My most favorite trijet in the world.
Denver to LA in Dec 1971 MD-11 home for Christmas Continental Airlines. I don't remember much because I went to sleep. Here is to all the flight crews that flew on MD-11. Thank you Dantop Aviation, and continued good luck in school.
Dan, I wish I could've been on the return flight-but seeing your coverage of the it was a satisfying equivalent. KLM has my favourite airline livery and the MD-11 was an unforgettable plane. Me, living a couple hours from Montreal could've easily made the flight, but I wasn't as aware of events in aviation back then. I'll miss the blue MD-11's :)
Thank you mate for posting this video!🙏 I was hoping to get on this flight but unfortunately it didn’t work out((( this is my favorite aircraft. Sadly to see them retiring even as a freighters...
Beautiful men ! You were very lucky to be on this flight. It's incredible how much you travel and you aren't a business man ^^ I'm jealous. I like your way of doing such reports :)
I see it almost every day on my way home from school. I've always wanted to fly a tri-jet but I never got a chance. At least, I'm glad I brave the weather just to see its last time landing in Montreal.
Very nice format. Interesting - would have liked to see take-off perhaps but otherwise very informative. Thank you! I never flew on an MD-11 sadly but did fly on a Tristar once ...
I will miss it however I think that this is a major milestone in aviation history, because with change always comes sorrow and with sorrow always comes happiness the MD 11 and DC 10 will be mist and I hope that we will be as welcoming to the new jets in the future!
It is such an amazing aircraft thanks for sharing,I will truly miss it flying into Toronto and it will never leave my memory because i fly it In Microsoft Flight Simulator X with the KLM Livery and will make a Video to make tribute to this Historical Flight. I subscribed
No footage of take Off? Oh excuse me, you have to turn all devices off. Lol my mistake. Apart from that, nice vid, good commentary and so long to my favorite plane. Thanks for uploading!
Looking forward to the take off / landing videos. Never flow the MD11 but have flown the old DC10 which it resembles. KLM is a favourite airline of mine too.
I flew the MD-11 in may 2011 and the aircraft registration was PH-KCC nammed Marie Curie. Also I flew KLM Boeing 737-400 aircraft registration:PH-BTA Fernao de Magelhaes. All off these planes with KLM has been flown from VCE to YUL due to Air Transats bad reputation.
Great video Dantorp! It's sad to see it go :( I had the video for the last flight landing and takeoff from Toronto YYZ...BTW, you had a great channel...I subscribed :)
Very nice job, Dan! This aircraft will be greatly missed. Unfortunately on the day of this flight, I caught the KLM 747-400 flying over me. If only an MD-11 were operating that flight.
My goodness, I loved the MD-11 series, the DC-10 series, and the L10-11. Just a question for you...How long do you think before FedEx retires their fleet of MD-11's for more efficient fuel sipping aircraft?
Excuse me ? can I use for your audio file of flight announcement ? I need to do the event with the flight simulator sooner or later, but I will put your link instead. If you allow me, thank you very much.
It's so sad the md11 has to retire what an aircraft it was!!! I wish they could make an upgraded version of it that will meet today's technology standard! It will be mist
Far from it. The MD-11 and DC-10 are both still in commercial freight service, along with the 727 (which Iran Aseman still flies passengers with) and all of the Russian trijets: the Tu-154, the Yak-40 and Yak-42 are still in limited service.
I would be curious to know who bought the aircraft. South American of African airlines often buy old jets and use them for decades after we are done with them. Any way to locate this plane now?
Goodbye KLM MD-11!!!!!! Thank you for 20+ years of service!!!!! I loved seeing you fly into JFK on rare occasions. You will be missed very much. Perhaps your scrap metal may turn into a washing machine that I may buy someday. Once again thank you for your service.

Many cargo airlines fly them LH,EVA and I think more
africa still uses md-11 as commercial flight. especially local airlines
American Airlines B777-300ER A
That was truly amazing! Absolutely friggin' amazing! I can't wait for the takeoff/landing video footage :)
Wow, what a quite emotional video for those who are die hard aviation enthusiasts. Such a shame to see the MD-11 leave passenger flights. The MD-11 is such an iconic aircraft. Awesome video .. Liked.
What a fantastically done video mate, going to miss that wonderful MD-11 in the skies as everyone is retiring them now.
Beautiful video Dan! An emotional flight for us enthusiasts. Good job :)
Another absolutely stunning video, thank you for all you do!
Farewell MD-11, you were not the best, but you inspired a whole new generation
I never flew ever ever on a DC-10 or an MD-11. I am kind of pissed ;-( Great video as usual :-) I love those large opening windows in the MD-11 cockpit, must be very useful if one wants to clean these @ 40,000 feet :-)
Consider yourself lucky. 8% of the DC-10's had fatal crashes.
Amazing video!!! It's a shame to see it go, I wish I could have been on that flight!!!
Wow... I am speechless! Very very special video mate!! Thank you for uploading and I really enjoyed watching!! :D
I am a flight attendant for KLM, and flew this aircraft, till the end!!
I had great flights with this old lady!!
I will miss her!!
I will miss the md-11 :( very historical aircraft
A very passionate video saying goodbye..................Thanks for sharing such a wonderful in its final glory.
I always wanted to fly on a trijet 😢, well at least you were lucky to fly on one. Keep up the good work!
I thought this was a very, very good video, it explained everything on the md 11 and I would like to thank it for its service as I flew from Montreal to Amsterdam the following day
How lucky you are! We are going to miss the MD-11, it was a great video as always!!!

Almost like being there in person - thanks for sharing a great experience on this slightly sad occassion.

That was sad! But woah, the plane has services for a long time!
This was fantastic, well done and wish I was there to experience the last commercial outbound flight! Keep up the good work.
Denver to LA in Dec 1971 MD-11 home for Christmas Continental Airlines. I don't remember much because I went to sleep. Here is to all the flight crews that flew on MD-11.
Thank you Dantop Aviation, and continued good luck in school.
Dale May Pretty sure it was a DC-10. The MD-11 was introduced in 1991… :)
Thank you for this video. I am sad that this beautifull aircraft is gone from the KLM fleet.

Awesome flight!! Love your new logo!! Thanks loads!!
Beautiful men ! You were very lucky to be on this flight. It's incredible how much you travel and you aren't a business man ^^ I'm jealous. I like your way of doing such reports :)
Loved your video and I almost cried saying goodbye to the MD-11 :(
I love the voice-overs. You have a very nice voice!
Awesome and Sad At The Same Time. Wish It Was Longer Though.
I see it almost every day on my way home from school. I've always wanted to fly a tri-jet but I never got a chance. At least, I'm glad I brave the weather just to see its last time landing in Montreal.
Hey Thank you for this impressiv Video!
Good Work
What a great flight review. I'm looking forward to the takeoff and landing videos. Thank you.

GREAT VIDEO! I miss the KLM MD-11 too D:
An excellent video and an aircraft of character. I only flew on her once, but I shall miss her.
A great plane to fly on...did ams-yvr return on Klm and ams-dxb-tpe return way back in 98
The smoothest flights I ever had
KLM still one of the best airlines ever, MD -11 was certainly the best of its kind during that time ...thanks great video.
I can see myself in your video! :) Only took me 3 years to realize you were on the outbound flight!
Awesome video, what a great airplane...sad to see her go!

Wow you're a lucky guy! I wish I saw the MD11 at all! I never saw it at Heathrow. Anyway, good video!

Very nice job, Dan! This aircraft will be greatly missed. Unfortunately on the day of this flight, I caught the KLM 747-400 flying over me. If only an MD-11 were operating that flight.
I was in this flight as well it was great!
Who's watching this in 2020?
My goodness, I loved the MD-11 series, the DC-10 series, and the L10-11. Just a question for you...How long do you think before FedEx retires their fleet of MD-11's for more efficient fuel sipping aircraft?

Thumbs up coz I'm gonna miss the KLM MD-11

+hovermotion They were produced from 1990 to 2001.
It's so sad the md11 has to retire what an aircraft it was!!! I wish they could make an upgraded version of it that will meet today's technology standard! It will be mist
The end of commercial tri-jets. :(((
Far from it. The MD-11 and DC-10 are both still in commercial freight service, along with the 727 (which Iran Aseman still flies passengers with) and all of the Russian trijets: the Tu-154, the Yak-40 and Yak-42 are still in limited service.
Just one Question: What did they do with the aircraft after the last flight??
Sell it to FedEx
Will probably be scrapped ,and sit in the sun at Goodyear in Arizona. How Sad :(
Nice Video
Hey Dan! what was the problem with ur IFE?
Really nice vid, but the sound is kinda odd for me (lagging)
So sad..goodbye KLM MD-11! :)
Viaje en un vuelo de San José CR Ámsterdam y viceversa y el servicio y la comodidad de este avión era muy bueno fue muy agradable
So what happened to the pilots of the MD-11 do they have to train for a different plane type or just retire
Wish I could've flown on KCE again.....
The engine on the tail REALLY Freaks me out.
So sad one of the last passager MD-11
I would be curious to know who bought the aircraft. South American of African airlines often buy old jets and use them for decades after we are done with them. Any way to locate this plane now?
The MD11 will be missed 😭
she will be missed! ;(
I flew on the very last flight from YUL to AMS!
