They explain why Mira is Human in the later games, though I'm pretty sure there's lore floating around about it even before the later games. Basically, she was born immune to Immulsion, and ended up being sent off to be experimented on with all the other kids born to parents with Rustlung/ Immulsion poisoning. The CoG scientist thought the creatures of the Hollow, like Wretches, Corpsers, and Brumaks were also immune to Immulsion (They aren't) so they did genetic experiments on the dying, disfigured kids, which created the Sires. They took Mira's DNA, combined it with the Sires, and made the very first Locust, which Mira can control mentally. From there, they slaughtered all the scientist and fled undeground, where they made their own society. Problem is, the Locust turned out not to be immune to Immulsion, so the Lambent became an issue. Because the Locust couldn't stop the Lambent, they decided to eradicate Humanity instead and take over the surface, locking the Lambent away underground. Problem is, it is the Immulsion that's the real issue.
*Deep Lore Time:* Dom was basically Marcus' brother from another mother, cause before becoming a scientist, his dad was a CoG soldier himself. He retired when his wife died on the job, and he was never really there to raise Marcus, so he'd basically always be hanging out with Dom and his huge family. So now Adam feels bad about never really having been there for his son, and if the games explained that more instead of needing to read books, Dom's death would hit even harder than it already does.
actually if you look more closely Marcus was really close to doms brother Carlos Benedicto Santiago, he served with carlos during the pendulum wars, carlos died defending a bridge for UIR soldiers and when marcus learnt that dom was still alive he gave dom carlos's dog tags then they became close friends.
i do miss the days of playing this with a friend of mine we used to dominate this game so much be it camp horde or beast mode we leveled so much together did so much on this game we loved it so much sadly he went away from the game and wont ever come back to it i know this just a shame since i still love this game so much
Man, Adam was basically set up to fail cause Immulsion is like the basic building block of Locust cells/ DNA, so there'd be no way to exterminate it without killing them all off, especially considering even with Mira's immune blood in them, they're still susceptible to becoming Lambent

The boss fight for me was far more aggressive with the reinforcements, you got a cakewalk lol. Took me somewhere of 1hr 30min too 2hr to beat it 😭
