Joyride is a common example of "youtuber aggressively tries to make a product" and since nobody on this plattfrom reads anymore they don't write books but make food, drinks or other products
I like that you’re branching out a bit into different topics open to review, there aren’t really enough interesting and recognizable TH-cam sponsors to make a career out of and those sorts of products probably aren’t that applicable to most people. One critique I do have is the loud noises you make and the over the top reactions (long coughing fits, wheezing) maybe back it off a little to get a bit closer to the casual yet professional style you’ve had in your other videos. Although this one was much preferable to the smoking video you did, that one was hard to get through. @@liz7457 I wouldn’t say that’s a fair criticism. We are the ones that thrust him onto the front page, he wasn’t seeking out near instantaneous fame. I need to clarify as a person with a lot of diabetics in the family. Sugar-free isn't healthy. Some of those brands add chemicals that are much worse for the health than sugar is. There actually aren't that many not sweet candies and chocolate brands that don't cost arm and leg. Worth noting that while consuming a lot of sugar isn't good for your health in any scenario it's better if you spread out this quantity evenly throughout the day. Also sugar isn't the only thing that can cause diabetes. If you eat irregularly and don't balance it can worsen the situation.

Artificial sweeteners are some of the most studied chemicals in the world, and there has not been any evidence of them causing any real damage. Sugar on the other hand is directly connected to obesity, IHD, and diabetes
Well, so is sugar, water, and literally anything you eat, are a mass of chemicals, you are also a mass of chemicals, being man made and being natural have nothing to do with it. Though that doesn't necesary mean all artificial sweeteners are safe or dangerous, as the lack of sugar does prevent many downsides such as diabetes. My gripe with artificial sweeteners is that they are vastly more powerful and sweet, they could half or quarter or even eighth the amount they put in, and would taste better
They're useful for peopel that are trying to lose weight. It's like zero sugar sodas, it's not good for you, but if you're trying to keep your calories in check and want a treat they're useful
I've seen a lot of comments saying this, I can't say for certain but the loud sounds and overuse of sound effects might be imitating a Ryan Trahan video. Same editing style, music and effects, just cranked to 11. EDIT: I think the editing gets crazier towards the middle of the video because he tries the ryan flavours lol
Listening to you talk about consuming too much sugar in one sitting and here I am drinking a can of cotton candy Faygo soda like an absolute idiot. I'm not checking the sugar content on the can, lmao. Also I did not know Joyride used to be Project 7. I remember the gum they used to make, many years ago it all got clearanced out at Walmart and I tried the snow cone flavor. It was so good I went back and bought every remaining pack. Lasted me a couple of years.
companies call it blue raspberry because they dont want consumers to think they use red dye 40 in their candy and over time it just became the norm, ryan could totally just call the candy raspberry instead of having a red candy thats labeled blue
So it's worth noting that for (some) diabetics there is a "recommended" amount of sugar/carbs for each meal and snack. The one I know IRL and spend a fair bit of time with says that ~15g of net carbs (which is sugars minus fibers) is considered a reasonable amount for a snack. So an entire bag being 12~18 g of sugar actually works quite well.
I like the idea of using less sugar instead of zero sugar. Kickstart does that and I think it's the better tasting energy drink out there. Liquid Death selzers taste great to me and they barely use any sugar. If these candies can figure out how to use more natural flavors to get more of a taste to them I might have to picl them up.
"Moderation" is not something people like. It's either "Chipotle and McDonalds every day" or "must be organic single ingredient foods only without using plastic".
One thing that's very common with zero sugar candy is that people think they're healthier due to them not using sugar buts that's not true as sugar free item usually use a sweetener called aspartame which is just as unhealthy
Ill be honest with you fam, i feel like the productio. Quality went down while becoming overproduced. Your first couple videos were bangers but they are getting further and further away from what made them good.
I used to always pick up Project 7's gum, specifically the cotton candy flavor and the unicorn flavor (which change flavor the longer you chew it), and lately, it had been so much harder for me to find them. It didn't take until I watched this video until I learned why I couldn't find it anymore. Hopefully, Ryan brings those gum flavors back somehow.
Bossman I don't mean to be rude but you don't need to give a history of candy and explain that it isn't good for you, your main audience is tweens and young adults, not small children.
heres the thing... 'healthy' candy never going to be all that enjoyable ESPECIALLY with the price point. mediocre taste with a higher cost just doesn't offset them technically being healthier. i find when im craving candy, i crave something sweet, and very often i find that im actually craving fruit. fruit... is good! because it has natural sugars and still has plenty of health benefits DESPITE the sugar! my go-to lately is a variety bag of frozen fruit, typically for smoothies. frozen fruit has a texture i really enjoy and i find that some frozen fruits actually taste much better than fresh ones (cherries are much more flavorful and i love frozen blueberries too). frozen fruit is even generally very cost-effective because it lasts longer than fresh fruit and you don't have to worry about whether or not something is in season. there was a long period of time where i was honestly JUST eating candy and junk, so substituting that sweet craving with something healthier has made me feel so much better. as corny as it sounds, whoever said "fruit is nature's candy" was lowkey right...... so to anyone looking for a healthier alternative, just try frozen fruit. just dont eat too many cherries or you'll be stuck on the toilet for a while.... from personal experience.
What's ironic is that some company could literally just sell candy that is sweetened 90% from the fruits themself and it would not only be more healthy than Joyride but probably taste better too.
@@woshee_real its a great alternative for people who want to be more health conscious, and i do agree certain sugar frees taste nearly identical to the original, even the synthetic sugars they use are only slightly better for you. if youre the type of person who will sit and just eat junk food forever (like myself) then you might need an entirely separate food that still scratches the itch. i do typically buy zero sugar sodas because i cant taste a difference and i dont drink soda more than maybe one can a day (and they arent an insane price compared to regular sodas).
@@Moving_Castles4278 companies that do use natural fruit sugars tend to be fruit snack brands, which is likely why the candy in the video tasted like fruit snacks. great when you WANT fruit snacks, but disappointing if you want candy.
@@mintytoasted the amount needed to have any risk depends on the persons weight but with my weight you have to drink more than close to 200 oz, which at the point is like if you drank 200 oz worth of regular soda.
If you ever do Gamersupps, be sure to know what you're trying. They have sample packs for free-- Most are good, some aren't. The taste can be subjective. From the Sample Packs I've gotten, Blo' hole blast (Tropical Punch) is the best, followed by Guacamole Gamer fart 9000 (Strawberry Lime). If you get the Dragon fruit punch (As name implies) or the Titty milk (Blue Raspberry Milk) flavors, you'll have a bad impression on Gamersupps. Dragon fruit Punch has an overpowering spice taste to it, so be aware of that if you get that one. If you do commit to buying one of the actual containers, give Sakura Splash (Sour Cherry) a try. That's one I recommend, since it tastes almost exactly like a sour bombsicle.

It's like zero sugar sodas, it's not good for you, but if you're trying to keep your calories in check and want a treat they're useful
ima join the train of "yeah sound effects/music too loud" and the bits (especially with the murdering ryan) are pretty pronounced
Texan here, never heard of joyride in my entire life.
Have we entered the "Stop a hero or live long enough for you to become the villain" era already for this channel. 😬
calm down bro, the screaming and loud sounds are completely unnecessary.
Titanium dioxide is white food coloring
The constant sound effects got a little annoying, but otherwise I liked the video.
Wasnt expecting you to reference Ryan's video style, loved that!!
companies call it blue raspberry because they dont want consumers to think they use red dye 40 in their candy and over time it just became the norm, ryan could totally just call the candy raspberry instead of having a red candy thats labeled blue
Wrong colour but it was red 2 I think I forgot
Can we just stick to the paid promotion critiques?
No.
i love the idea that eating ryans food is like eating ryans organs
I both love and hate that the cat girl poster is a staple for your videos now
One thing that's very common with zero sugar candy is that people think they're healthier due to them not using sugar buts that's not true as sugar free item usually use a sweetener called aspartame which is just as unhealthy
Stop doing the Scott The Woz. We have enough clones of him already.
Your content's very good to and I respect your type of content. Keep doing it.
How is this Scott the Woz esque?
Ill be honest with you fam, i feel like the productio. Quality went down while becoming overproduced. Your first couple videos were bangers but they are getting further and further away from what made them good.
Gotta do ridge wallets
This idea will bankrupt him XD
The infamous Matt scream, I could never mistake it for any other
thanks for informing me on my daily silksong news, good video
Lol I’m not the only one that found him through DSN
I used to always pick up Project 7's gum, specifically the cotton candy flavor and the unicorn flavor (which change flavor the longer you chew it), and lately, it had been so much harder for me to find them. It didn't take until I watched this video until I learned why I couldn't find it anymore. Hopefully, Ryan brings those gum flavors back somehow.
I like Joyride. Not every flavor hits, but there's some good ones and it's nice to have a sweet treat while I'm on a diet.
Bossman I don't mean to be rude but you don't need to give a history of candy and explain that it isn't good for you, your main audience is tweens and young adults, not small children.
Mungo
I work at a movie theatre, where we sell the Sour Gummi bears. I've only seen a SINGLE PERSON buy a pack.
13:29 EDP'S favorite book, for sure
Dial it back man your calmer vids i like more
The problem i have with "sugar free" candy is that its not really sugar free, they just use substitutes that taste weird.
Love your vids, but gotta agree with the comments. The screaming is kinda uncomfortable, I would stick with the vibe of older videos.
babe wake up new Shane McGillicuddy video just dropped
Here I come I am cinnamon…
And it sucks!
Go back to sleep babe… the new Shane McGullicuddy video sucks..
@@moocake057Nah.
heres the thing...
What's ironic is that some company could literally just sell candy that is sweetened 90% from the fruits themself and it would not only be more healthy than Joyride but probably taste better too.
honestly, despite the flack zero sugar gum and sodas get, it really helps my cravings, plus I wont be put in a diabetic coma for eating em.
7:55 bros going insane
Came for the tierlist
Stayed for the torture
Never heard of this candy, excited to see this review
13:30 the noise he made here…. Insane. Some sort of gorilla or perhaps a primate.
We've been waiting so much for this one, and its finally here!
The tier list starts like eight minutes in? Several content-farmers adopted your bit because it's a good bit. Commit to it. I feel safe guessing that no one was asking you for a high school level presentation on the health of candy or sugar content. Or....the screaming / laughing bits.... They make me want to unsubscribe. Who is that for? Is your target demo children?
5:41 my comment got featured in their behind the scenes of their Zack King movie they did before the Joyride commercial, and according to Sticks who featured the comment in their video, I was deeply influential in getting them to make the MatPat movie...
i was waiting for this!
Dude did you take substances before this recording
i've never really liked sugar free sweets, they've always been subpar to normal sweets & chok full of even worse chemicals than the stuff they replace like artificial sweetners for example are basically designed to go through you without breaking down aka like eating flavored plastics
burning of plastic can cause cancer
I can confirm that camel balls are ( barely edible ) ive only ever seen them sold deep into Australia marked as kangaroo balls
you content is pretty good and entertaining. And you making your hand movements more "exaggerated" (i dont know if this is the right word) to compensate the lack of facial expressions because of your mask is super cool.
If you want to try more candy, you should look at Oompaville's candy brand Sour Boys.
2:46 I heard its because of iron deficiency but I'm not sure. It happen to me so many times and the feeling is just so trippy
*I HEAR KLONOA!!! WAHOO!!!*
honestly i fw fruit leather so i'm happy
I love your videos! I’m always skeptical about sponsors, so I'm glad you're testing them for us. With that said, is it worth getting a VPN? I see it sponsored more than Raid, but their big selling point is watching streaming content.
As a type 1 diabetic, I can't bear Joyride candy....its bad
Okay, do prime.
