#8 is incorrect: the first US president born a US citizen was John Tyler. Tyler was born in 1790; the first one born after the adoption and ratification of the US Constitution (1789), which established the US as a sovereign nation. Tyler's nine predecessors in office (Washington thru WH Harrison) were born on what is now US soil, but, because they were British colonies at the time, they were British subjects at birth (though they were all given posthumous retroactive US citizenship by an Act of Congress in 1976)
The Delaration of Independence established us as a sovereign nation, the Treaty of Paris of 1783 led to Great Britian recognizing it as such. The US Constitituion just esblished a new form of government we were still a sovereign nation during the Articles of Confederation. Van Buren was born in 1782 so you could make the argument we weren't a country yet since the British didn't recognize our independence yet so it would still be John Tyler.
Planets were named after Roman(except one) Gods. They are better know by their Greek equivalents though... Mercury=Hermes, Venus=Aphrodite, Mars=Ares, Jupiter=Zues, Saturn=Kronos(Zues and his siblingd father) Neptune=Poseidon, and Pluto=Hades. Uranus is actually the Greek name of Kronos' father.
Millie's comment on smelling money was hilarious and had perfect comedic timing. Yes, he's right on that. Pluto Roman god of underworld, (not really a planet though). Earth would have to be Gaia or Terra, and the moon would be Luna or Selene if we were consistent. The sun would be Sol or Helios.
The sun is Sol. The solar system is even named after it. Science fiction stories use "Solarian". The difference is that in stories where we've terraformed worlds like Mars, "Terran" is someone from Earth (Terra) specifically, while "Solarian" would include those from the terraformed worlds I the system.
Not true. The Pentagon was built in 1943 (construction began in 1941). The U.S. Air Force did not exist until 1947. It's predecessor was the Army Air Corps. The Coast Guard was part of the United States Treasury Department but during WW2 it was under control of the Department of Defense (called the War Department at that time). But the Coast Guard went back under control of the Treasury Department in 1946....and I think for awhile it was under the Department of Transportation but I'm not sure. The shape of the building had nothing to do with the number of DoD branches because now they would need a wing for the U.S. Space Command.

Coca-Cola's original recipe was created in a backyard in Georgia, USA, in 1885, and did include small amounts of cocaine from the coca leaves used as flavoring, as well as high levels of caffeine.. Before Mr Pemberton died in 1888 he shared his secret recipe with a select few friends. The rights to the formula were purchased from the estate by a mr. Candler around 1891, who then founded the Coca-Cola Company. the formula was originally marketed as having medicinal tonic properties. That formula was revised in approximately 1903, but still called for a cocaine free coca leaf extract. The us government is said to have randomly tested the cola for the drug into the1980s. In approximately 1915 or 1916, the formula underwent another change asxaxeesult if a lawsuit, which was ruled in the company's favor, claiming it contained dangerous levels of caffeine. As a concession, the company agreed to lower the caffeine content.

You can’t be serious. You actually believed that the planet Pluto was named after a Disney character? And I thought education was bad in the US. Jeez!
No, was pointing out that there is a character named Pluto. Not that it was what helped name a planet
I've always heard stories of people waking up in a bathtub full of ice and a cut in their lower back, only to learn that a kidney is missing.
There's a great TH-cam channel with a guy who has 2 pet otters called Kotsumet (otter in Japanese) .
There's a funny line from the TV show, M*A*S*H: "The Pentagon - weird looking building - four walls and a spare."
These aren't necessarily America myths, just myths.
Mercury, herald and messenger to Roman gods, Venus Roman goddess of beauty and love, Mars Roman god of war, Jupiter king of Roman gods, Saturn, Roman god of agriculture, Uranus, Greek god of Sky, Neptune Roman god of the Sea.
@@aprilvoecks5877 Yeah, I decided to include the Greek alternatives for the Earth, Moon, and Sun.
It’s a pentagon because we have 5 branches of military Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coastguard
@@josephsoto9933 And the Marines are a corp of the Navy (hense the word "marine"). The original main role of marines was bording enemy ships and beach landings, basically the infantry of a navy, while navy sailors operate the actual ship and equipment [eg ships guns].
Greek and Roman gods WERE religious gods. 😐
It's funny how one of the newest religions (Christianity) is so widely regarded as the ONLY RELIGION that's ever existed on the planet.
Almost all the planets are named after Roman gods.
Mercury - messenger god (Hermes)
Venus - goddess of love and beauty (Aphrodite)
Mars - god of war (since it's blood red) (Ares)
Jupiter - kibg of the gods (Zeus)
Saturn - father of the gods (Chronos)
Uranus - Greek god of the sky
Neptune - God of the sea (Poseidon)
Pluto - god of the underworld (Hades)
I'm surprised you hadn't seen the meme going around the last few years that says something to the effect of:
Not saying it was a bad idea to downgrade the planet named after the god of DEATH and the UNDERWORLD, but... [gestures to current situation of the world]
Walt Disney named Pluto, Mickey's dog after the newly discovered (then) planet. Pluto is the Roman version of the Greek God, Hades, God of the underworld.
Just in case no-one's offered this as yet - for No. 12 - Martin van Buren is the only US president for whom English (even "Colonial American English") was *not* his first language. He was born in New York State to an immigrant Dutch family, so that's the first one he was exposed to - English came second.
It's very easy to super heat water in the microwave and hardly rare. It won't explode like a warhead. It'll sometimes tend to splatter violently.
It's very easy to do this, just nuke water then sprinkle salt into it.
Club 33 opened in 1967, not1963. New Orleans Square wasn't built yet,and Walt who died in1966 never saw it completed.
Pluto is the Roman name for Hades, god of the underworld.
#7: Haven't you seen the trope of getting drugged in Mexico, then waking up in a bathtub full of ice missing a kidney? They illegally harvested your kidney.
The "fact" about earth not being named after a god is wrong. In ancient Roman religion and mythology, Tellus Mater or Terra Mater ("Mother Earth") is the personification of the Earth. Although Tellus and Terra are hardly distinguishable during the Imperial era, Tellus was the name of the original earth goddess in the religious practices of the Republic or earlier.
How many people think the channel should be renamed, "Wait, What?!?!?"
😂😂😂
#18: "Pablo Picasso's full name had 23 words."
Pfft -- that's nothin'.
French composer and conductor Louis-Antoine Jullien was baptized as follows:
Louis George Maurice Adolphe Roche Albert Abel Antonio Alexandre Noe Jean Lucien Daniel Eugene Joseph-le-brun Joseph-Bareme Thomas Thomas Thomas-Thomas Pierre Arbon Pierre-Maurel Barthelemi Artus Alphonse Bertrand Dieudonne Emmanuel Josue Vincent Luc MIchel Jules-de-la-plane Jules-Bazin Julio Cesar Jullien
That is actually theoretical math beyond graduate level math. It’s part of physics and science trying to prove something. It’s actually a very hard branch that hasn’t been proven. Basically they exist but why.
Couldnt this be just 25 myths....not 25 american myths
Pluto is the Roman name for the god the Greeks called Hades. Pluto, the planet, has been downgraded to a Dwarf Planet. That means that it doesn't have the mass (gravity) to clear it's neighborhood of debris. Our planet's actual name is Terra.
roll up the dollar and snort....:p Disney named Pluto :p not to mention, that The abortion clinics sold the parts with out permission :( Math and Music have common ancestors....I am good at math and a lousy guitarist, but working on it. :p
Ok organ stealing I was researching urban myths and looked up the kidney one real life people in the middle east, don't remember where, would sign up for short term employment in construction and would have to do, among other things, a health check so the doctors would put them to sleep and then cut out their kidneys. That's the one I found but I'm sure there are other things
Not sure on the organ harvesting thing... Depending on the organ, they only live outside the body for 2 to 48 hours. The person receiving the organ must be the same blood type and of similar weight, height and body style. Then you need surgeons and crew ready plus more. Do you really think people are just going around collecting organs?
I saw a story by a girl who has an older twin sister. She said her sister liked to say "What I was your age" and then tell me what she did 20 minutes ago. Also, if you read about the formula for the early Coca Cola they used an extract from the leaves of the Coca plant as a flavor extract. They were NOT putting cocaine into the Coca Cola.
Just because background processes burn more than the food doesn't mean it's negative calories. You're still adding calories to the system. If you eat celery during a fast day your reserves will end up with more than not eating at all.
The implication is (he didn't explain it well) that the act of chewing and digesting Celery consumes more calories than Celery contains. Making it negative.
The gods the planets were named after were definitely “religion gods”. These gods had temples and worshippers and holidays and everything.
Really, there’s kinda gotta be a religion behind any god, otherwise they’re just a superhero.
If it hasn't been proved, then it's not a theorem!
There are sometimes statements that are called theorems (such as Fermat's Last Theorem) for various reasons, but for well over a century the discipline has been reasonably rigorous rule of "theorem = proved".
All the planets are named after "Roman" Gods. They're the same gods as the Greek gods, but with different names. Mars is the god of war ares for example
2:06 *Most Americans use a microwave instead of a kettle. A Pyrex measuring cup. 4 minutes.*
6:28 *Imagine you are a scuba diver with two air tanks. One empty. One full. Which is heavier? The one with more air in it.*
Born July 22 and it's true something about July hospitals loose there mind
Pluto was the Roman god of the underworld & the god of wealth under the Greeks.
Yes pkuto is a God but the guy that discovered the planet did name him after mickey mouse's dog, so that part is very misleading, he's right and wrong at thr same time, pluto wasn't discovered til after pluto the dog was created
It's funny that two twins will have separate birthdays. It can happen, if a labor goes well into the night and into the morning of the next day. Some have even been separated by a year, one being born on the night of the last day of December, and the other being born on New Year's Day in the next year. I always find this so interesting :)
Esteban Julio Ricardo Montoya de la Rosa Ramirez, makes so much more sense to me now😂
Pluto is the Roman god of death. All the planets are named after the Roman gods, and back then, that was an active religion
How long are you leaving water in the microwave for it to explode? Like water can be cooked in the microwave for at least a good 2 minutes for stuff like instant ramen. So idk where that even came from.
Don't give the Department of Defense any ideas. They'll get out of hand and build a dodecahedron two miles wide and tall enough to affect air traffic.
The only problem with young videos is you talk to each other to much with out pausing the video you're watching and the viewer can't hear what's being said.
Legit thought that everyone was in the know about black market organ trafficking and am now seriously questioning the types of content that interests me 😂😅
You guys are a cute couple. Reminds me of me and my fiancée's relationship
You don't "sniff" coke you snort it.. Ya gotta get it down..😂😂😂
I have a couple of comments.
1. One time after going ocean fishing, I cut up some raw fish into tiny cubes for treats for my cats. I put them in small freezer bags so I could get just a few at a time for them. So I labeled each bag, "CATS", so we knew they were for the cats. Any guests going into my freezer may have wondered if we were eating cats!😂
2. In Connecticut we had twins born in different years. One was born just before midnight on 12/31/2023 and the other was born just after midnight on 01/01/2024, just a few minutes from each other.
The contaminated money from cocaine is not visible to the human eye nor can humans actually smell the cocaine on the money. But a police dog can smell the cocaine on money.
Is that why we refer to celery as stomach brooms?
One interesting story about twins was the one about the twins born in different years. One was born shortly before midnight on Dec 31 and the other shortly after midnight on Jan 1. I imagine this has happened more than once
The United States are weird, awesome, and creepy all at once. Hug Archie for us. Can't wait for your videos from the U.S. Love, Pennsylvania! 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 ❤
Your weird,as most ridge runners are.
Pretty interesting except for the stupid comment about celery being gross.
I sympathize with you about the teething. I remember when my kids and then my grandkids were teething.
Regarding China and other countries that eat dogs and cats, ive always be totally disgusted by the fact and dislike these countries for being so brutal
The water in the microwave is pure water with low dissolved minerals. Add nucleation points in a smooth container to prevent it from occurring.
#19...crickets...photo shows a katydid. 🙄
Yes the pentagon. 4 walls and a spare. A monument to Murthy’s Law.
Earth is named after a god. Just different pantheon of gods. Have to look to the Sumerian, not Roman.
These are not myths, because they are true. They should be labeled as “misconceptions”.
