Drew: since I been in the interior design business for many years and have gone thru many different trends and styles, I’m so happy to see antiques and vintage coming back. To me, to see an older piece with history, in a modern room is just heaven. Enjoyed your review of trends for 2025. I so enjoy you young designers using titles like “pattern play”and “color drenching” for specific looks. This makes it easier for the public to understand the thinking behind the look. Kudos! Ever since I discovered vintage I feel I am not going back. I am in the process of decorating my house and with a few exceptions, everything is vintage, antique and pre-loved. Love it so much that I also started reselling. The uniqueness that you can achieve sourcing vintage pieces is amazing. And look at your home! Perfect example!!!
Dearest Drew and all your friends, I'm popping in to see if you've posted anything. I see from many comments that so many of us are hoping you are safe. 🙏🏼🤞🏼 Holding you all in my heart. ❤🩹 Love, Jacqueline from New Zealand.
Every example chosen was so beautiful to the eye. You have such taste. But the best advice to all of us is " There is so much stuff in the world - do we need to be manufacturing more?" My house is full of things that have had a former life and I walk around thinking "Look at that. How lovely".
This! With exception of a few items of clothing (and even that I bought mostly second hand) and technology pretty much everything I have bought in the last couple of years is vintage or antique. I love imagening who owned the item/furnitue before me and what history it went through. I actually have trouble with dealing with changes, be it decluttering or chaging out item or adding something new but now I was able to declutter my whole home, sell or donate the things I really didn't use and/or got higher quality, more beautiful vintage versions of them and I no longer have issues with adding anything because old things just feel immediately familiar and cozy and not like they are intruding in on my home. I don't know if I explained that very well, but maybe you know what I mean.
@Olivaro10 💯 agreed!! I also enjoy walking through my home, envisioning the former lives of each and every antique and older piece I own. I love to think about all the people before me that adored these objects, and imagie who will own them when they are no longer mine.
My husband and I have been so blessed to inherit a house full of beautiful antiques. We've been married for 37 years, so we have loved having these pieces in our home. Now we will finally be "on trend" for a little while at least!
Hi Drew, I‘ve been to Tehachapi about 37 years ago. I‘m from Switzerland and during my semester break I went to California to help a beekeeper who was living there in a trailer. It was a very dry year so we mainly drove around checking the beehives. I don’t remember the town of Tehachapi clearly, but I got around a lot and it was one of my best times of my life!
Oh Drew, I sure hope you’re doing ok and not affected by the fires! Definitely keeping you in my thoughts and sending good vibes your way that you stay safe.❤
Me looking up at my saddle I have sitting on its rack in the corner of my livingroom (because im to lazy to take it back and forth to the shed) and telling it that its now in style and my husband can no longer complain about it being in the house lol
6:27 as a booth owner myself, I have always sold clear glass. But the key is to not display it with a bunch of other clear glass, always mix it in with other items that have the overall vibe you are going for when trying to sell it.
I’ve been a vintage collector since 1980. Everything is unique and unusual and makes me smile, knowing that when you come into my home, it’s not cookie cutter.
Trying to get motivated while having a cup of coffee and scrolling through youtube...... Saw your smiling face and had to click on Lone Fox. Instantly felt much better! You are so enthusiastic and obviously love to share your passion for design. I will definitely log on when I'm having "blah" morning. Have a fantastic New Year!
I started following you around the time you bought your house, so it’s crazy to me that you weren’t always so vintage/antique focused! You’ve done such a beautiful job curating these pieces into your space and I’ve learned so much about different vintage styles from your videos. 1000% can see you as an antique dealer in your retirement!
Yes yes yes! OMG! I am so happy to see this generation talking about antiquing! Once in a lifetime piece of furniture. You only need to buy it one time.
I am already at the "I can go to my grave with this furniture" stage with most rooms but I am currently doing this with my bedroom. Already got an antique linen closet and a small bookcase with glass doors, found a bigger 1800s jewlery box for 10 Euros (I don't think the thrift store was aware it was that old), got a ton of vintage frames collected for a gallery wall, now a nightstand, closet, dresser and carpet to go, maybe a lamp and a plant stand too. And then I'm don't need to buy any more furniture, I'm done, none of this stuff is going to break for the next 100 years or longer (my IKEA bedroom set is already broken or warped in various places lol).
Drew, yes you are absolutely right. I have several friends that are antique , furniture dealers and home interior company owners. They said people are starting to seek out big chunky ranch style furniture. They said the series Yellowstone has had a big influence on ranch style decor. On the other hand they said color is coming back. No more white modern farmhouse. People are throwing color on cupboards, furniture and walls. 😊
Here in UK our humble home has many little treasures that have been owned and used for years by people near and far. I love the mystery behind each item and I thrive when I bring home preloved items that haven’t just fallen off a conveyor belt. Thank you for all the time you share with us. ❤
Wow Drew! This is the best trends video I have ever seen. The images you used were so illustrative, I don't feel like I need to know anything more about what's coming up in 2025. You nailed it!
Funny how things I have from my great grandfather I’ve appreciated as I gotten older which I’ve incorporated into my living room that is Oak tone and burgundy. I also love vintage glass, especially red when light hits.
One thing I have learned from you, Drew, is just work at putting items together until you are happy. I like more of an eclectic feel in my surroundings so I may incorporate many elements from each of these trends.
@@lonefoxDrew what shade of white? I'm really thinking of painting my room which has a lot of dark brown paneling and making it white but I don't want it to look like a hospital room. Another great video. FWIW, if you love stained glass and road trips, Montreal is the epicenter of stained glass -- both historic and contemporary glass art. (This is because, historically, there were so many cathedrals, many of which have been turned into schools or condos.) You can find stained glass for very little in architecture salvage stores and even on Marketplace. When I moved here, I even took a stained glass-making class. There is an artisan community here that will make custom things.
I have always loved antiques. They were made better and have stood the test of time. So many of the modern furnishings fall apart quickly. I go for design and craftsmanship. Good design is timeless.
This. My parents have huge oak wood dowry chest from 1731 with the name of the lady who owned it craved into it and the date when she got married. The piece will be 300 years old soon and it will easily last several hundred years longer. I am pretty sure at this point it would take a huge effort to even make it burn, if it can be burned at all.
Omgosh! I grew up in Bakersfield! I am 65 and just left there to move to Texas. I am building a house and plan to use a bit of western decor. Tehachapi was a great place !
I feel like the last two ‘trends’ have been mastered by the British. I’ve seen so many designers and content creators from the UK lately that are experts in the mixing of patterns and using skirts in their designs. Thanks so much for sharing these ideas! 💡
I have totally loved your home remodel. I still say that if at all possible you need to bring back the previous owners just to see their reaction. Just like your landlords reaction of your rental before his passing. So priceless! Back in the late seventies I had a cleaning company. On many occasions I worked directly for the decorators and got to see some beautiful transformations from the drab white walls etc to a stunning home. One unit the paint on the walls was a charcoal gray/ almost a black. I thought it kind of dark considering walls, doors, casings and baseboards were all the same color. Then the accessories arrived. Typical to your glass, this was all done in a clear Lucite. The dining table, the chairs the server all Lucite. The decorative pieces were all Safari in nature. The russet and brown tones, plus any animal skins (faux in nature). At the end, the apartment was stunning. Can truly see why the dark walls - you would not be able to see your furniture.
Finally!! Vntage and antiques are coming back! I am so glad. I love unique pieces with character. I've had an Ebay store for a long time, and that's what I sell and decorate, keep for myself.
Drew, I grew up in the L/G community (and turned out straight) and love, love, love your style. I appreciate your decorating tips and your videos are so watchable. I like how you're leaning into the style of your house!
Lived in a small town in CA most of my life that was just 90 min away from Tehachapi. Loved that little town❤ How fun to know that my decorating cowboy style (over 20 years) is now a trend! Love your channel- keep the good work!
Hi From Florida was wondering how are you and your doggy, roommate friends and your home over there 👉??? All these fires 🔥 are so scary 😧 hope (everyone) is all good and safe!
Surrounding yourself with things you love, will surpass trends. It's easy for me to say, since many of the things you brought up in the fall into the "things I love" category.
I love so many styles. I love Bridgerton's set designs. I also love paintings of horses , birds and dogs. I just adore a touch of the western look. So my style is eclectic lol. I love that the skirting is back because I have it on a buffet in my kitchen.
I’m familiar with your home town. I grew up in a suburb (Highland) of San Bernardino! I’ve noticed many of the trends beginning in 2024 and I do believe they will take on life this next year. A lot of them are stemming from our containment during COVID. People were finally living in their homes. Wanting warmth, comfort and history to surround them.
As in " from Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonopaugh", heck Drew, your hometown is memorialized in song! I know, I'm old, but it's a mighty fine tune.
@mountaingarden8823 Thanks for the correction, I stumbled all over Tucumcari and never got back to Tonopah:) Still willin, let's hit that Happy Trail with Dallas Alice and have a fabulous New Year!
PLEASE DREW LET US KNOW YOU ARE OK!!! PLEASE BE OK…DONT give a fig if you lost your home (that would be sad for sure), but your home is replaceable; you and your crew and family ARE NOT!!! PRAYING HARD YOU ARE OK!!!
We used to have horses and we still have a couple of old saddles that we couldn’t get rid of. I love having them in the house along with the reins and bits. I am widowed and have changed things up so I’m not so sad in my house. I need to get the saddle soap out and spiff them up a little. A little piece of my past.
I believe you are so right about content creators pushing all the same stuff. I rarely watch them. Used to find it much more interesting but more and more boring. Th and you for being so original and unique!
Same, I have usubbed from a few content creators and I have recently noticed I am down to only those who use a lot of vintage items (Drew, Mccenna, the Sorry Girls who do a lot of DIY as well as vintage..). I also love Alexandra Gater, but I wish she would use even more vintage and less new stuff. Lots of amazing DIYs on that channel though.
Drew, I love your unique taste and that you go with what you love. Your house is a home and looks so lived in and warm, not staged. I love your tapestries. Watching from South Africa. Happy New Year
Apparently i love pattern play. Every photo you showed in that segment made me think I wish I could do that! I remember YEARS ago Emily Henderson was on a design/style reality competition show (whichshe won and that's how she got her start, I think) and I love her pattern mixing way back then but feels very much outside of my skill set.
Congratulations for your Homeworthy visit. I'm a ederly middle-class, who had to struggle poorly with the economic crisis in my youthness year of beginning 80's. You prove that good taste and class is not about wealth. A wind of youth and a beautiful life lesson!
Hi Drew I love your video content long time sub since 2020 (when I discovered you during the Pandemic). You creative magical eye and brain inspire a lot of DYI's and how ot set up my own place Thank you. ❤ I am worried for you with what's going on in L.A. right now. I pray you are NOT is any of those areas and you are safe. Praying for L.A. and all who are affected by those fires and bad weather. 🙏💓
Mixing patterns is such an 80’s look! I did a former living room in paisley, plaid and stripes all in the same hues, color wheel and family. Pinks, greens and yellows. It was an English country type of look and it was beautiful for its time. I can see it done now in more earthy tones, but I don’t think I want that again for me.
I find the trends are for designers period. Each style is personal and you should just love what you like for your home. Be happy with your own style. Thanks Drew for your opinions tho.
You can never go wrong with Shaker style. It can be incorporated into Western or minimalist. I love Shaker! As I am an equestrian, I have to say it is always around those of us who are, but I will tell you it does get old and actually boring. So I like to keep my favorite pieces and then add more of an southwestern/native cause that is my favorite.
Oh thank God some art in design! I’m not a maximalist but definitely I don’t find cubism and supper minimal design appealing. Design is ment to be a mix of art from different cultures, backgrounds and eras ! I’m so glad that this year i’ll be seeing really interesting interior design episodes. Mixing vintage, antiques and warm cozy colors is my favorite 😍
Love love love the silver. You know Andy Warhol had his whole loft covered in silver, he also used silver pillows which he launched from his balcony to announce the end of one era of his artwork, and the beginning of another.
I love art glass…..I struggle to leave blown glass in a thrift store! I have several sleek vases…never too many. I love bronze , pewter and sterling pieces. I also appreciate carved or natural wood burls. My mother restored antiques……As a result, I have a great love of, and taste for expensive things that are vintage. Hard to give them up…need to sometimes, though. My home is very eclectic. My favorite wood is still ash-blonde maple. I have mixed woods in my home…..maple, cherry, hickory and oak. I also love original art….too many beautiful pieces to buy prints. Cheers!
Drew, thank you for the years I've been watching you transform rooms into charming, elegant, interesting saces. You are one of the best!! So fun to see you with MaCenna, another one of my favorites. As for vintage/antiques I've been ahead of trends for years.
I definitely have vintage in my bedroom. Cannot imagine buying cheaply made furniture from places like IKEA or Target. You are right about country being in. There is a new store named Boot Barn that is trending in NJ now. I'd love to see vintage cotton bed sheets come back. The materials used today are so cheaply made.

This is so comforting to my eyes, it's beautiful 🤎
For real, what a dream bathroom! I wish this stain glass pattern was available was window cling film so I could put it on my bathroom window.
I really hope color drenching becomes classic. I love it!
Me too!!😊
Lived in a small town in CA most of my life that was just 90 min away from Tehachapi. Loved that little town❤ How fun to know that my decorating cowboy style (over 20 years) is now a trend! Love your channel- keep the good work!
Hope you are safe Drew! Sending out best to you and your family!
I really hope you and loved ones are well Drew and the fires didn't affect you ❤
Thank you for all the “blabbering on and on”!!! Love this! Happy New Year ❤
Hi From Florida was wondering how are you and your doggy, roommate friends and your home over there 👉???
Love that song! As a Nevadan I need to correct the spelling of Tonopah though 😊 Happy trails!
Happy New Year
Please let us know if you are ok drew!!
You are so lucky to have found your home. It has so much character, love the outside, and you have just taken it all to the next level. 💫✨
I agree as well! It seems to be what designers like to use as concepts for design and stores like to emulate the styles in shoppable pieces
Bringing the real into interior design. Color, texture, history and imagination. Well done Drew! People are over beige and conformity.
I hope you are all ok over there ❤🙏
Yep, use to drive thru Tehachapi when we lived in Victorville and drove up to Atwater. I’m sure it has changed a lot since I lived in California.
I hope you are safe Drew!
Great job Drew! Love seeing new trends and ALWAYS love your videos! Happy New Year! 🎉
Drew, YOU are always New & Fresh !
Sooooo glad oak is coming back. Such beautiful wood!!!!!!!
Ok your eyes are POPPPPPING!!! DREW IN BLUE IS 🌀
Drew i am worried. Hope yoy guys ok from the fires in LA. Another of my you tubeers lost everything in the fires. Please let us know how you are both going
