Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a 2003 first- and third-person shooter action video game set in the Star Wars universe. It was developed by Raven Software and published by LucasArts in North America, by Activision in Europe and by CyberFront in Japan. The game was released for Microsoft Windows and OS X (published by Aspyr) in September 2003 and for Xbox (developed by Vicarious Visions) in November 2003, and received positive reviews. In September 2009, the game was re-released with the other Star Wars: Jedi Knight games (Star Wars: Dark Forces, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith and Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast) through Steam and Direct2Drive.[5][6]
Jedi Academy is powered by the Quake III: Team Arena game engine, the same engine used by Jedi Academy 's predecessor, Jedi Outcast. In a new feature to the series, the player can modify the character's gender and appearance, and can construct a lightsaber by choosing the hilt style and blade color.
In single-player mode, the player takes control of the character Jaden Korr, a student at the Jedi Academy under the tutelage of Kyle Katarn. The player must complete various missions assigned to them by Katarn and Luke Skywalker. There is also a multiplayer mode that allows players to play against other people over the internet or via a LAN.
Gameplay: As a first and third-person shooter set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Jedi Academy puts the player into combat wielding a variety of firearms from that universe, as well as lightsabers and Force powers. The player can choose perspective for every weapon. The shooter aspects of the game are standard, including a variety of projectile and energy weapons and explosives. Players have a health meter and a shield meter, which are replenished separately.
In both single-player and multiplayer, the player character is a Force-user, who has access to a variety of Force powers in addition to their lightsaber(s). Powers include Push, Pull, Jump, Heal, Lightning, and other abilities from the Star Wars universe. Force powers are categorized into core, Light (defensive) and Dark (offensive), and each Force power has three ranks, with the power increasing in effectiveness with each rank. In both single-player and multiplayer, players choose how to rank up their powers, adding a layer of customization. During gameplay, the player has a "Force meter" which is depleted when powers are used, and recharges when no powers are in use.
Jedi Academy places a heavy emphasis on lightsaber combat. The player can create a custom lightsaber by selecting a hilt and one of five blade colors.[7] Later in the game, the player can choose to wield a single saber, one saber in each hand, or a "saber staff" similar to the double ended lightsaber Darth Maul used in The Phantom Menace[8] which also adds a kicking ability unavailable with any other lightsaber. The different sabers each have unique styles and special moves. When using a single saber, the player can choose between three stances which affect the speed and power of attacks; if using dual sabers, the player can switch off the second saber and use the "Fast"-style single-saber stance, or if using a saber staff, the player can switch the staff into a single-bladed saber that uses the "Medium"-style saber stance. - บันเทิง

In the movie this part was so bad i mean the other 3 defated so easily was so dumb...
well in cannon they were battlig with force speed whole time ;) and it was hard represent in movie.
the movies can only display the actors moving in real time (which is slow in comparison to the fight in canon) without it looking retarded. in canon, all you would have seen of the combatants would be just a blur of lightsaber strikes. the squids simply couldnt keep up

I would have loved if the other three lasted that long in the movie. I understand the Canon reason was Sidious moved so fast, but it didn't translate well on screen at all. I think the choreographer, as great as he is, and Lucas couldn't figure out a way to make a 1-on-4 duel between masters look believable in that cramped setting, while still getting good close-ups of Ian's face on top of making the saber combat itself enticing and emotional. Just my take.
Spencer Grady actually it makes perfect since he was fast but a special fast not the normal fast we are used to it's like something that goes slow at first but then gets faster with the emperor every time he strikes the strike picks up that's why he was so deadly
I just go with it looks slow on the screen so we get how he killed each one, while to the character's it was actually almost instant.
Should've just had him kill the other three with the force

I heard they had the same problem with the Kenobi vs Grievous duel in that they had no idea how to make a 4 armed cgi cyborg fight McGregor convincingly which is why they had to resort to a lot of narrow shots and why Grievous lost two of his arms so quickly. This had the unfortunate side-effect of making Grievous look like he was really flashy but had no bite, like he really didn't pose much of a threat to Kenobi. Force pushing him and then the General running away and going out like an idiot didn't help either.

Fun fact: mace windu used form 7, which is actually a sith form, it’s said that he channels their anger through his lightsaber and directs it back at his opponent with increasing momentum, so the angrier the opponent the stronger he will be, and he has to fight differently with more calm opponents.

The novelization explains this battle far better, Sidious killed the others because he used the dark side to move incredibly quick. Either the team making the scene didn't want to show it that way, or couldn't.
Samuel Richardson I heard it's because it wouldn't be entertaining to watch.
It was more that the Jedi rely on the force to predict movement and intent in combat and Sidious was a master at masking that through the force, which was why he was able to keep himself hidden from the Jedi Order for so long, even though many of their best interacted with him fairly regularly. Master Fisto and Master Windu figured out that they couldn't rely on the force for prediction quick enough to not die instantly after the first 2 went down, but poor Kit wasn't prepared for a fight like that, whereas Master Windu, well it's still up for debate whether Palpatine was actually struggling against him, or if he was toying with him until Anakin arrived.

Rosario Crimson I’ve heard it’s been said by Lucas himself that Palpatine would’ve died if it weren’t for Anakin’s betrayal. Windu’s fighting style absorbs the dark side in order to balance it into the strength of the force, hence why his lightsaber color is in the middle, between light and dark. Sidious underestimated his opponent, and the harder he tried to fight the more power he gave to Windu.

It only hits you if you are on the ground though, so like, you need to be laying down for it to actually register as a hit. Because he was not on the ground it didn't hit :P
No, any contact with a lightsaber during the swing scores a hit. Definitely god mode as the health and armor bars were frozen at 100 all fight.
I was playing movie battles last night, the floor stab only registers as a hit if your enemy is on the ground. But yeah it's obvious they also have godmode. Maybe it's different in the base game, and the floor stab can hit people who are standing, but in the mod it only counts if you're on the ground.
Well he was hit with force lighting and didn't take any damage...

All bosses were just reskin basic enemies with no uniqueness besides character story. I wonder if anyone would be willing to make a full remake using the academy software...
