Hi Joe. This is an absolute gamechanger. I am in love with falloff and incline strength settings. Just playing around with those params one can create almost infinite amount of landscape brushes. I am astounded how clean the result is and how different it looks from the initial brush. I have only bought this plugin several hours ago and I am already finishing raw details of my 4square kilometers landscape. Just wow. And the fact that you can move brushes around in a non-destructive manner is a cherry on top. Super cool. Good job.
I was watching the voxel plugin livestream in the unreal channel the other day and I was amazed that they were able to "create" and move mountains in a matter of seconds. Well.. I guess I don't need to learn the voxel plugin anymore. Outstanding job Joe!

Thank you for creating proper tutorials for your Plugins. It drives me crazy when plugin companies for Unreal and Blender don't provide good tutorials that allow you to take advantage of the software or assets they sell. This is great customer service and I'm excited to use the Brushify Smart Brush System and other Brushify assets you have created. Perhaps a video explaining the difference and how to use those additional brushes in BSBS would be great.

First off, amazing work. Really incredible. I have a quick question tho. Where did you learn what you know? What is it you think was essential for you to know or learn to advance to reach the level where you are at right now? Are you self taught or maybe it was your experience in the industry?
Biggest advice I have is to simply try to create something, do that enough times and you will identify problems that need solving and solve them! Once you solve a problem, find a way to bring the solution to as many people as possible. That's the journey! You might be able to teach yourself tools... but concepts, ideas etc those come from the people you surround yourself with, the tasks you set yourself and the hurdles you overcome. So be really picky about your company, try to be the one that asks questions and actively seeks feedback.
What a fantastic way to quickly world build! Often, the time spent in Gaea or World Builder can slow speedy conceptualizing. With this, you can quickly layout a concept and test. Great edition to your product line Joe!👊🙏🤘

@@HavokSage Nice, yeah I think a decal system that bakes into the RVT could work well, at least for performance. Using decals for huge landscape brushes might cause other workflow issues with decal layering in a level, projecting onto things you don't want them to. hello I am getting very blurry textures when I have RVT enabled at 4kx4k. I am unable to find a value in "VT_mip distance" that will allow the textures to appear properly. Did you find a fix for this?
@@HavokSage I get it imported but I guess my UE5.1 knowledge is too limited to be able to use it correctly. When I apply grass to the landscape it gets all wibbly wobbly. I need to take some UE courses I suppose :D

Hi, Brushify studio edition is a bundle product , all the 24+ Brushify products in one combined project. It actually includes Smartbrush. Please read the product descriptions on Fab for more information. It explains what's included in each product.
Love your work! Question - How would I use large steep mountains with worldpartition? I have tried and end up with partial mountains unloaded/loaded. I ended up using static meshes, but I would rather use the landscape. If I knew how, I would purchase your pack for sure.
I would only use World partition for the objects that decorate the landscape. The actual landscape itself can be a single actor. Check out my workflow here: www.brushify.io/post/massive-worlds-workflow The concept of landscape tiles unloading/loading is pretty antiquated. It's not been necssary for a while since we moved away from the old world composition system and new landscape LOD features based on screensize fixed performance issues. www.brushify.io/post/world-composition
Hello, nice brush system, before buying, does you system can export heightmap with all brush in a single file ? I ask because I use a plugin that load this file for my terrain.
@7:56 you talk about the settings too adjust the scatter or render parameters for the grass, im trying to find the parameter that allows me to give me a larger render distance for the grass in the auto material and to make the materials on my mountains look better from a distance.. any help would be appreciated.

Hi Garth, this look sawesome, I have 2 other Brushify packs Mars, and the City. I have a question about LOD's in the shadows, when I move further away I lose the shadows? Im on 5.1. I see it on your screen to, can that be disabled somewhere?. Thanks
Hi you’d have to increase the range in the sunlight (directional light) you’d also need to increase cascades as well which gets a bit more expensive. There’s also the option of distance field shadows though, tbh unreal gives many options. The brushify assets are simply geometry like any others.
@@HavokSage I painted megascan grass next to brushify grass, to test both, and both did the same, then I forced LOD 0 in console commands, megascans grass work fine and can see shadows and grass from anywhere but brushify grass still disappears. I will look into your mentioned options thanks.
@@nmatthes2927 No sorry. But you can look at the pack’s assets and you should find the “procedural foliage” asset. In there, you can set a culling distance preset for the “cinematic” view distance setting in the engine. When you want to render, just turn it to cinematic and it should work. Hi Joe, doing great work, and have a lot of your brushify packs, am no expert in unreal, but 3d modeller for 20+ years and looking for any tips on creating a landscape based of a mesh created from a laser scan i have done (trimble tx 8) its my bread and butter at the mo, topo and building surveys, drawings and models. The landscape is very high detail, but only 120m by 120 metres and cannot get that resolution i need via a heightmap, any help appreciated, as i realy want to use brushify, otherwise, i would bring the mesh in as nanite, but not as versatile :)
Hey Joe! Excelent work putting this together! I have a doubt that I would like to clear with you. Is it possible to change some of the rules for the layer info so, for example: If I need a slope to keep a material like grass, instead of getting rock applied. How should I proceed?
When I move the landscape (along with smartbrushes), the blueprints smartbrush pivot points gets skewed. Any way to remedy this? It is a bit cumbersome to edit on the smartbrushes when they are offset a kilometre away.

Wonderful stuff! One question tho, since each brush can have its own material, can I then have multiple environments within one large landscape? For instance, put snowy mountains up north, desert in the south and maybe a forest in the middle.
Absolutely, the automaterial is designed for this. You can paint materials separately to height. Brushify was originally intended for huge open world games. Multiple biomes on a single map is a core feature, it’s also one you won’t find in other marketplace automats

Landscaping and textures are my favourite parts of the unreal engine, it's great to see someone dedicating themselves to landscape art!

It loooooks sooooo nice, and the price is very reasonable.
First off, amazing work. Really incredible. I have a quick question tho. Where did you learn what you know? What is it you think was essential for you to know or learn to advance to reach the level where you are at right now? Are you self taught or maybe it was your experience in the industry?
Biggest advice I have is to simply try to create something, do that enough times and you will identify problems that need solving and solve them! Once you solve a problem, find a way to bring the solution to as many people as possible. That's the journey!
You might be able to teach yourself tools... but concepts, ideas etc those come from the people you surround yourself with, the tasks you set yourself and the hurdles you overcome. So be really picky about your company, try to be the one that asks questions and actively seeks feedback.

Mixing would be a next step, or some sort of decal system, although I might take a more global approach.
@@HavokSage Nice, yeah I think a decal system that bakes into the RVT could work well, at least for performance. Using decals for huge landscape brushes might cause other workflow issues with decal layering in a level, projecting onto things you don't want them to.

hello I am getting very blurry textures when I have RVT enabled at 4kx4k. I am unable to find a value in "VT_mip distance" that will allow the textures to appear properly. Did you find a fix for this?

It looks absolutely fantastic, but I still haven't figured out how to use my brushify grasslands pack in UE5.1 so this will have to wait.
Hi, what's the issue? it should be that you can simply install directly to a UE5.1 project. Brushify supports all latest engine versions.
@@HavokSage I get it imported but I guess my UE5.1 knowledge is too limited to be able to use it correctly. When I apply grass to the landscape it gets all wibbly wobbly. I need to take some UE courses I suppose :D

Love your work! Question - How would I use large steep mountains with worldpartition? I have tried and end up with partial mountains unloaded/loaded. I ended up using static meshes, but I would rather use the landscape. If I knew how, I would purchase your pack for sure.
I would only use World partition for the objects that decorate the landscape. The actual landscape itself can be a single actor.

The concept of landscape tiles unloading/loading is pretty antiquated. It's not been necssary for a while since we moved away from the old world composition system and new landscape LOD features based on screensize fixed performance issues.

Hi Garth, this look sawesome, I have 2 other Brushify packs Mars, and the City. I have a question about LOD's in the shadows, when I move further away I lose the shadows? Im on 5.1. I see it on your screen to, can that be disabled somewhere?. Thanks
Hi you’d have to increase the range in the sunlight (directional light) you’d also need to increase cascades as well which gets a bit more expensive. There’s also the option of distance field shadows though, tbh unreal gives many options. The brushify assets are simply geometry like any others.
@@HavokSage I painted megascan grass next to brushify grass, to test both, and both did the same, then I forced LOD 0 in console commands, megascans grass work fine and can see shadows and grass from anywhere but brushify grass still disappears. I will look into your mentioned options thanks.

It is possible with a console command but it is shown on an other tutorial.

@@nmatthes2927 No sorry. But you can look at the pack’s assets and you should find the “procedural foliage” asset. In there, you can set a culling distance preset for the “cinematic” view distance setting in the engine. When you want to render, just turn it to cinematic and it should work. I’m sorry I lost the video.

Hi Joe, doing great work, and have a lot of your brushify packs, am no expert in unreal, but 3d modeller for 20+ years and looking for any tips on creating a landscape based of a mesh created from a laser scan i have done (trimble tx 8) its my bread and butter at the mo, topo and building surveys, drawings and models. The landscape is very high detail, but only 120m by 120 metres and cannot get that resolution i need via a heightmap, any help appreciated, as i realy want to use brushify, otherwise, i would bring the mesh in as nanite, but not as versatile :)

When I move the landscape (along with smartbrushes), the blueprints smartbrush pivot points gets skewed. Any way to remedy this? It is a bit cumbersome to edit on the smartbrushes when they are offset a kilometre away.

For instance, put snowy mountains up north, desert in the south and maybe a forest in the middle.
Absolutely, the automaterial is designed for this. You can paint materials separately to height.
Brushify was originally intended for huge open world games. Multiple biomes on a single map is a core feature, it’s also one you won’t find in other marketplace automats
