@tomsunday We'll be on Celebrity Reflection July 13 thru 21, 2024. Than we'll be on the Celebrity Apex December 14 - 21, 2024. Have you signed up for the Celebrity Xcel yet, we'll be on December 14 - 21, 2025
Tom! You're a pro. Another top notch review you've delivered. Mmm choices choices. We've given our travel agent a few options for sailings in 2025 and she is getting prices together for us. We live in England so it looks like another Mediterranean cruise or a Canary islands one for us, watching this the longer the cruise the better. Tom your review on the Retreat is making us think of pushing the boat out and us having a total indulgent holiday. Keep up the good work. Regards
Hi Steve! It makes me very happy to hear that you enjoy my videos. Your comments motivate me to create more content. I'm currently working on a few more videos from my trip on the Apex. Next up is my cruise review, followed by an in-depth look at The Retreat. These two videos will wrap up my thoughts on the Apex. I'm scheduled to cruise on the NCL Gem in less than two weeks, which will be my first NCL cruise. I'm excited to bring you a lot of content from that trip and, most importantly, compare the experience to Celebrity to see how they stack up against each other. After NCL, I'll be cruising with MSC and Princess. The Retreat is an excellent option on Celebrity. If you're comfortable with the price, it will definitely provide the indulgent holiday you're looking for. I'm finalizing a video on The Retreat that will cover all the perks and benefits. I think that video will help you make your decision! Cheers, Steve. Thank you for your support. I appreciate you.
Thanks Tom! Another great and detailed video! 17 months before we're back on Apex (Transatlantic). We've got Equinox, Axcent and Silhouette to look forward to before that...
That is amazing! I got the impression that you really enjoyed your last cruise. How was Blu?! I heard a few people complain about the menus. Did you notice any changes?
@@tomsunday Hi Tom! Honestly we thought the menu was as good as we remembered, and we love Blu. It was a 13 night cruise and I honestly don' t recall any obvious repeat entrees nor reduction in selection. The quality was as expected. We had extremely good interactions with our Blu Matre'D (Telma) and Director Food and Beverage (Mazy) . The ability to supplement Blu menus with Main Dining Room also helps , and we usually do that a few times on a cruise... A real highlight was the off-menu Butter Chicken! We had excellent experiences at Lawn Club Grill, Murano, Tuscan Grill and Sushi on Five (Sushi on Five was a lunch for us). Would you be able to provide more details about the menu concerns? TBH, I'm not really a dessert person so I'm happy getting a nice Port or dessert wine most nights? That said, my wife likes desserts and had no issues.
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. This really helps because I value and trust your opinion. Several people mentioned that the portion sizes have been reduced. Others mentioned that overall quality is down. So, I just wanted to check and validate this. Last time I was in Blu, it was very good. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that thinks that.
Showing how the rich people i mean retreat hang out. I do love blu and sad it is only for retreat guests. Man that old guy been cruising for fifty years. I only met one and I like to ask what there least favorite cruise was. On Eden wish it was like royal and a true park but thanks for showing the walls are alive.
After many Celebrity sailings I've finally booked an Edge class ship this year. My experience on my last Celebrity cruise (Reflection) was below standard for them. It looks like it, and It's a shame if it is true that they are ignoring the smaller S/M class ships in favor of the Edge. If that trend continues I may have to find a new cruise line as I much prefer the smaller more personal ships.
Edge class ships are miles ahead of the S/M class. It does't even look like the same company to be honest. There are some bad things about the Edge class, like infinite verandas. However, they are a much better cruise experience in my opinion. Let me know your thoughts once you return. I hope you enjoy your vacation. Cheers!
@@tomsunday Miles ahead? I don't agree whatsoever with that. If you like a cruise product that puts a suite class in prime real estate in the front of the ship, erases an observation lounge that all passengers can use and squeezes this activity in a nondescript two-level area called the Club, deletes a library and smaller places for people to socialize, deletes the Ensemble lounge for quieter combo music, then this is your ship. I don't think this ship is that much bigger than the Solstice class. It's just a lot more generic in some respects. And since it deletes a lot of spaces for non-suite passengers, the usable amount of space is around the same.
The Edge class will be the latest class until the next class. Then the same process happens. I hope Celebrity changes a lot of features back to what they had in the Solstice class because the Edge class does not do it for a good amount of their repeat passengers. The Solstcie class isn't much smaller, it's just more intimately designed and AFAIC, a lot more elegant in some ways in some interior spaces. The Martini Bar is more elegant, nothing on this ship matches the Ensemble lounge, the foyer is more elegant on Solstice lass. The restaurants are similar in quality. Where the Edge wins is in tech but that's to be expected.

A lot of people prefer S class to E class
