thanks nice tour. we will be on this ship in 6 weeks and good to know already a bit the layout and facilities. looking forward to our cruise. greetings from Spain
Thank you for this tour. I'm considering taking a cruise on this ship in October, but I've never sailed Celebrity, so trying to get a feel for the cruise and the ship. This video was thorough and helpful!
Personally, I think you will really like it Joanne! It is a more recently renovated ship for Celebrity and has an excellent feel to it. Also, it isn't too big, so getting around and learning the ship is easier.
Great review. We are NCL loyalist but we thought we'd try others as a test and this ship came up as a possibility on a back-to-back with a RC ship. We will test this one. Thanks!
Give it a whirl! Never know what you will find! Just enjoy it as a new experience and try not to compare as good or bad. See things as just different to help adjust to a different line! Let us know what you think!
Hi Brandon I sailed on the celebrity summit twice and I fell in love with the ship the size The edge class decor that they used I found it great for meeting people especially around the martini bar and the staterooms was very comfortable celebrity is one of my favorite cruise lines I love the solstice class and I also do like The summit. Great review I like your video editing and framing of a shots
Thank you! Always a work in progress but try to get it right! I would agree on teh size! Did Silhouette the next weekend and liked the older, smaller Summit better!
Thanks for this video! My husband and I are sailing on her next summer to Alaska and it’s nice to get an idea of the layout of the ship before we sail.
One thing I’ve liked in particular about how Celebrity puts towels on the pool deck chairs: It does a better job of mitigating the chair squatter issue than having empty chairs, as it ensures staff check on the chairs fairly regularly.
Never thoguht about this but it does help know if the seat has been used and can be recycled. That's a big issue on ships as you just never know when the seat has gone empty.
I will be on the Summit later next year. I found your video to get a sneak peak of the ship. I must say, it was an excellent tour. Surprises was the waffles, that concierge status gets to use the spa area (atrium?). Good tip on the buffet options on both sides. I’m a muesli lover 🙂. I’ll look for your tours for all my upcoming cruise travel - thanks!
Have been on the Equinox (twice) as well as the Eclipse and the Silhouette. This is a smaller ship? than those? Wife and I are going to be on it next month from Vancouver to L.A. Looking forward to it!
Wow, I'm becoming quite the expert. Have only been on Princess ships but I know my way around on Royal, Virgin and Celebrity as well. Lol. Once again Brandon, many many thanks 🙏. Your videos are always so fun and informative. I really do enjoy and appreciate all of the insight that you provide. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
My partner and I booked a New Years cruise on the Summit this year. It’s our first time on this ship and our first time celebrating New Years Eve out at sea. After watching your video I feel like an expert almost. This is actually our second cruise this year. We did the MSC Seascape which was huge and beautiful but a bit chaotic so we’re looking forward to a smaller less crowded experience. I see you went during Halloween which seems nice and festive. I’m hoping they have something special planned for New Years Eve. We can’t wait. My partner and I are looking into booking more cruises next year so I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos. You now have two new subscribers. Thanks again.
Welcome to the channel!!! I think you are really going to like the Summit! She is a beautiful ship and easy to navigate! I am confident they will have a special dinner menu and a champagne toast at the Sky Lounge! I will be ringing in the new year on Celebrity Solstice myself!
Hello, fantastic video. We are sailing this ship in November out of San Juan, PR. The ship leaves at 8:30pm. Do you have any idea what time they begin boarding at the earliest? Thank you!
Hey there! As it is in San Juan, this is a port I have only cruised out of and would hesitate to give a firm time. What I have found though, is they give a later all aboard to allow time for people to fly in but you can begin boarding at the normal time of after 11:00am. There are probably specific Facebook groups for the Summit and someone who has recently cruised can better answer this as your cruise gets closer.
It has been a while since I made a video talking about this. Might add it to the list! It comes down to being very intentional and having a life that revolves around affording ships!
Thank you so much for your very helpful review. I almost clicked PAY on the Virtuosa NYE 24/25 without research 😅 rookie. OMG NO!! This was the alternative and so much more my style.
Hi Brandon thanks for posting. I was quite surprised when I found out that this is a Millennium class ship. It's sooo nice! Next June I'm on my first Virgin Voyages (Valiant Lady) and first Celebrity (Reflection) both in June 2024. For some reason I'm more fascinated by Celebrity and lately been watching more Celebrity videos. Do you have a preference between the two lines?
haha you are reading my mind Aron!!! I have a comparison video on Celebrity vs Virgin Voyages coming out next week! Putting the final touches on it now!
Hi van you please recommend what charging plugs I need for the room (usb,ac etc). I'm will be 9n 9th floor upgraded from basic room. Also can you recommend a travel insurance? Thx!😊
I use Geo blue for my travel insurance. It is a function of blue cross and is medical only. Annual policy is VERY reasonable but doesn't have bells and whistles of trip cancellation etc. It is just medical
And for plugs, you will have two American outlets and one EU plug. Royal changed their policy but celebrity has held still I believe. Safe aide, buy a good Anker travel charger from Amazon. That's my favorite and the prongs retract.
Thanks for tour. Ship looks in great shape. I'm sort of revisiting Celebrity this week after having sailed them a while ago. This ship has been remodeled extensively. The problem with the Millennium class is that it is built on the Brilliance of the Seas hull and some of the spaces were sort of forced into the Celebrity format. So some issues with the ship were corrected with the Solstice class that's by far, IMO, the most representative of the Celebrity product. Still, this ship has retrofitted some new Solstice areas as best it can. So you're right, some areas are repurposed to facilitate new restaurants or social areas and such. The color schemes have changed to lighter colors and I'm not really a fan of the high-backed chairs. Some areas are less elegant and characterful, particularly some of the seating at the bar, sconces and such that were very retro-modern on the original ships. I sailed the Constellation, a sister of this ship. I toured the Millennium, originally, the most posh of the Millennium class ships (but no longer). The Rendezvous is a signature lounge that's been deleted from the Edge class. The Sky Lounge, signature, also deleted from the Edge class. The Solstice ships I believe also have the lighted tables in their theaters. So, yeah, that's not ideal. I don't mind the suite only areas in this ship except for Michael's Club. That, for me, should be a lounge open to everyone onboard. The Summit is a mellow ship and somehow, the Millennium class feel the most mellow of the Celebrity ships and even more mellow than the earlier Century and Horizon class ships. It's a fine ship. It's not optimized as a Celebrity ship but it still has the spaces that define the brand (unlike the Edge class ships that I don't really care for). And it does seem Celebrity is still big on cleanliness of the ships, at least in public areas. Hopefully, they're more consistent with food, something that seems up and down with this line. When they do it right, it's wonderful. But it can be mediocre as well on some sailings. Service is usually excellent.
Hello, I am curious how bad you can feel this ship move at sea? Possibly taking this cruise in 2025. I have medicine but I get very bad motion sickness. Thank you!
It really depends. For me, it has been a very small percentage of cruises where it has rocked (3 out of 140). Mostly, in areas where the water was expected to be rough. In the Caribbean and Alaska, it would only be caused by a storm of some kind. Normally, not rough at all and you will barely know you are moving. Hope this helps!
they will have a daycare for them but it is minimal. Think this would depend on how your toddler is having fun on their own. There will also probably not be many other children for them to interact with.
The Summit is going to be VERY limited. They also have a game room with puzzles and cards. Believe I also saw a playroom setup in a conference room but sailing with kids is not my expertise. :-(
I loooove Celebrity Summit it was my first cruise in November and I’m hooked for life! I’d give it 5 STARS! the food was excellent however the desserts 🍮 on the ship looked pretty but were pretty bad to be honest. Cafe’ albacio is highly overrated but the coffees are really nice!
Def agree about al Bachio as it isn't the best coffee! Funny you mention desserts, I feel this way with a lot of cruise lines. They make what looks like an amazing desert but doesn't match in taste!
Brandon, I have to agree with you that the Celebrity Summit is a very beautiful ship! They had some strange looking to me, super high back chairs in the dining room. They would be very private but they looked very narrow and hard to move without tipping them over. I would have to try them out before agreeing to use them.
There is a large number of crew that do speak Spanish. Cruise ships employee people from all over the world and you will always be able to find a Spanish speaker to assist. For the dinning room, I would check with the staff to see if they can move you to a section with a Spanish speaking waiter.
I just came off this ship in November! 5 Stars! hands up! food was excellent in the buffet, desserts sucked though lol At the cafe and buffet…. a drink package is not necessary save your cash and just buy your drinks separately. it’s not congested at all, and there’s so many different parts of the ship to getaway if you like the alone time w your partner. The rooms are super comfortable and equipped w everything lotions, shampoo, Deodarant, toothbrushes, body wash etc, like the name speaks for itself! overall 5 stars! Entertainment is lit everyday! in the day and at night!

We are taking this boat next year in July 2025! We are excited for our Alaskan Cruise!
ok, you've convinced me; I definitely am going to try this ship on one of my solo cruise adventures
Wow! What a fantastic job they've done on the renovation of this ship. Well done!
For her age, she is VERY impressive! They have done a fanastic job!
My friends and I are going on the New Years cruise, I'm so excited! Less than 10 days. This video was PERFECT!
Very glad to hear that! Hope you are having a wonderful time!
I'll be on the Summit next Monday. I'm excited. I believe she was renovated in 2019. Thanks for the tour!
Hope you had a blast!!
Thanks for this video! My husband and I are sailing on her next summer to Alaska and it’s nice to get an idea of the layout of the ship before we sail.
We will be cruising on her b2b in June to Alaska. Thanks for the tour!
That sounds amazing!
Oh Fun I status matched as elite so that should be fun on my first Celebrity cruise. I love the art on Liberty of the Seas.

That is great and thank you!! For the spa, that is included with Aqua Class but not a Concierge veranda. Hope this helps!

Summit is a smaller ship and an older build. she is part of the Millennium class. Same kind of layout though just minor differences you will notice.

I wish celebrity would send a ship to Galveston. Would love to try it
Their fleet is growing! Would not surprise me if they did exactly that one day...
We had dinner at the Tuscan restaurant a couple of days ago and it was very disappointing.

The port is fort Lauderdale going to key west and out to Mexico so I think it is mostly Caribbean. Hopefully no storms. Thanks you this does help.
Do you know the difference between a cabin A1 and A2 category?
It is very minimal. You're really talking about the location on the ship. Some locations are considered more desirable than others.
Would you recommend this ship going with a toddler (2yo)?
they will have a daycare for them but it is minimal. Think this would depend on how your toddler is having fun on their own. There will also probably not be many other children for them to interact with.
Leave your annoying and screaming kid at home where they belong!!!!!
