Just seeing you back in this kitchen feels like a warm hug! 🤗 And about your colors - I think you might be a winter, maybe true winter? You look incredible in cool saturated colors! Lots of contrast. Second to that maybe a true summer? I keep thinking of how that berry/burgundy color you dyed your wedding dress is like your perfect shade.
8:33. …. I am soooo feeling nostalgic watching you back at your parents place. Watching your videos during lockdown kept me so very calm and sane. It was one of the silver linings to COVID. 😘
Heck ya… for sure this is a nostalgic experience for me to watch!! I am loving Ralphie, your parent’s two dogs, that amazing big kettle, the orange pan, that grand ol’ kitchen clock, the South Downs where you did your 75km walk, your bedroom, the beautiful tea cups, the interesting stove in the background (is it called an aga?), your parents small chatter in the background, and so many of the homey things that brought connection to us all during the pandemic. Somehow I missed Idgy?? Thanks for sharing all of this, it was fantastic and I truly loved the nostalgia of the entire video. I am binge watching all that I missed this Fall while doing my post-graduate uni courses… and now I am onto the next video. But on second thought… I think I will save some videos for tomorrow. This will be a great way to start off 2025!! Thanks for bringing us along on your trip back home, Ⓜary💕👩🏻🎓

def feel that nostalgia seeing your parent’s home again. thanks for taking us on that beautiful walk. 😊 looks like you might need to knit the doggos some outfits, too! 😋
Immy! This is such a beautiful, cozy video. I hear to on the nostalgia. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Your videos are totally my comfort zone.
Your parents home is so lovely and cosy and quintessentially English. So lovely to have such a safe space to return to. Thank you ( and your parents) for bringing us along.
Oh yes, I loved your videos in England! I also just visited England for the first time in 20 years (used to be married to a Brit) and went to the lake district and to Oxford. England is the best. I feel for you in that I moved away from my home city to a small town. Every time I go back there, my heart aches. Much love to you and your family.
Yes Immy, we do remember your parents' kitchen. We miss your videos in England. In the future, we will be moving back to England permanently? We are so happy for you that you had a wonderful visit with your family.❤❤
What you said about the quality of sleep you get at your parents' house is so true for me as well, my parents live in northern Canada in a very small and quiet town, my childhood bed is so comfortable, and every time I sleep there nothing wakes me before my body naturally wakes on its own, it's not usual for me to sleep for ten to twelve hours at a time. I'm in my 30s with a busy life, so that never happens anywhere else other than there!
usually silent viewer here, but i've been watching you since you lived in an apartment before moving back in with your parents :) definitely very nostalgic for the UK kitchen vibes
Ayyye, perfect timing. I just sat down in bed with a tea and hot water bottle❤ And yessss, I remember the kitchen. It’s amazing to see how far you’ve come yet your content has stayed a cosy safe place for me!
@@SustainablyVegan I always enjoy your videos! I‘m still trying to find the patience for knitting and you’re a big inspiration when it comes to learning new skills and persevering through challenges - something that does not come easy to me whatsoever. This made for some perfect cozy viewing after a very long icky day. Also I totally feel you on the making the same recipes over and over (my current kick is mushroom stroganoff. I'm obsessed).
Yes, total nostalgia! - I had to look to make sure this was a current video! It's a beautiful home, and a wonderful place to explore different thoughts and ideas. Thank you so much, and to your parents, for sharing such a warm and wonderful place! :)

RE: Tofu Scramble...you HAVE to try Rainbow Plant Life's recipe! It's life changing, and I bet you'll love it since you love so many of her other recipes. It's unlike any other recipe I've ever seen, it's so moist and delicious.
I didn't think I'd feel as nostalgic about your parent's place as I did - the beautiful kitchen and Sussex countryside just made your video feel even more warm and calming than usual. I'm obsessed with this Peanut rayu sauce! So funny to see it in your video. Also I can highly recommend an in person colour analysis! Mine was such a fun experience and so interesting when my colour analyst showed me not just which colours are best but also how certain colours make me look and why! I admit I'm just curious now myself about your colour season 🙃
Get well soon! And thank you very much for the beautiful video.I haven't found that many vegan favorite recipes for lunch and dinner yet, I'm still trying something new all the time. The only recipe that has ever been repeated is actually "Bolognese". And in the morning oatmeal....but usually always something new. But in fact, there are some breakfast variants that I repeat from time to time. Greetings from cologne Andy
my hard earned secret to good tofu scramble = keeping it moist! i always add a splash or two of alt milk to mine so it's more saucy than chunky, and make sure to add plenty of seasoning as well (usually coriander, nooch, garlic powder and paprika for me + often a splash of tamari and/or worcestershire), and i like to cook the base veggies in vegan butter for that extra bit of flavor!
I've been watching you since a few years before the pandemic and it is so nostalgic for me to see you back in the kitchen! Although I can still rembember your flat in London that I think you shared with your sister? But maybe I just dreamt that 😅 Still I am so happy for you, that you are able to live with your hubby 🥰
I 'member this place! And being mildly confused at the number of cooking surfaces there are lol. Thank you for taking us with you to such a beautiful place! I'm, as always, so impressed at your progress knitting -- fingering-weight yarn is personally my favorite to work with but I absolutely understand the "I've been knitting for 5 years, why have I only gone an inch?" feeling XD Thank you for making such wholesome and calming videos, they always kick-start my self improvement drive.
If you haven't tried Rainbow Plant Life lemony chickpea soup you must!! It's so cosy & incredibly delicious 😋 p.s your family home deffo brings back some nostalgia for that cosy english home
Just found your channel. I love it! You are so enjoyable to watch. I wish that I had found you sooner, oh well! Better late than never!✨💕 Beautiful sweaters too!
Love the silent long cooking video from your parents kitchen. The house looks so beautiful and cozy. Can you tell me about the traditions in the UK related to housing - I hear you have two siblings, so when kids grow up and leave parents home is it common to downsize for parents, or to change the location near bigger towns to access healthcare etc?
Yes! I have an older sister and an older brother. So this isn't the house we grew up in. We grew up in a house in London and when I moved to university my parents decided they no longer wanted to live in London and wanted to live in the countryside so they bought this house (about 10 years ago). I think they would have downsized but they wanted space for everyone to be able to visit and stay throughout the year and at Christmas etc. They didn't anticipate that my brother would move out of London and move closer to them, nor my sister splitting her time between sussex and London too. Most of my friends parents still live in London, and considering house prices have skyrocketed, the idea of selling and moving seems like a bad choice as they've lived in those houses for over 30 years!
Hi Immy, love your videos..to umph up your tofu scramble, I mix in some silken with the hard tofu along with some nooch, turmeric, plant milk, chilli, black P an salt . I find it change up the texture an makes more pleasant. :)
If you want to do your colors yourself, i just tried doing it myself and it was really fun! I started by seeing what clothes I had that I really loved and kind of “dissecting” what I liked about it (specifically color). Then I went to the fabric store with a mirror and hold solid fabrics up to my face and seeing how I felt against my skin. It was fun, especially with a friend. :)
I remember your parents kitchen, but I also remember the apartment before that. Its just hit me that I've been here a while.... Also noticed the channel name change! Scared me for a minute as I thought the channel went missing, but then I found it :)
@@SustainablyVegan I love the change! Using your name definitely fits with the wider range of content that you now make, but also how you have grown as a creator over the eight years I've been watching. :) A little jealous of how lovely and cold it looks in this video, as I am from Australia and its summer here and its just hot, all the time!
I tried tofu scramble and I didn't love the texture. Your parents house is nostalgic. I love the open space of the kitchen. I remember you starting the garden and all the things you would cook with whatever you harvested. I learned that pickling and storing food isn't as scary as it seems. Have you made any recipes from your new book for your family? Is the Curry recipe in the book?
This video feels like a hot cup of tea ☺ I'm curious to know what blush you use (sorry if you've covered it in a previous video!) - it looks just like flushed skin, which is always what I aim for! I have scooped the very last drop of my Rare Beauty liquid blush today and am finally on the hunt for a new one.
Typing my comment here as I'm enjoying my dinner with White Mausu chilli oil (had to take a double take at that scene because I recognised the jar sticker lol). Tbh as an Asian I've stopped eating imported Asian sauces as many still have MSG and other synthetic chemicals. So I'm really glad my local refillery has this WhiteMausu brand
Colour analysis! So I did one and I can tell you right now, that you are the fall-ish type with 1) warm colours, 2) muted colours, 3) darker colours. I am similar only i have fewer contrast between my skin and hair, so i look best in mid-contrast colours. So you'd look great in like a deep warm red, a hazel brown, a yellow ochre, or an olive green or something. Your hat is beautiful, only it's a bit too cold coloured or light for the 'perfect colour analysis' match, but F*ck the colour analysis sometimes :') just wear whatever you want! But you're definitely fall, too I'd say :D
I love your childhood home in England. Are you able to give a tour sometime? And are there 2 stove tops? What are “ downs”? And sorry another question, do you Rory about the ingredients in vegan meat? I am vegetarian but I have friends who as they wouldn’t eat fake meat due to what’s in it. And I can’t wait to see the baby book you’re going to make. I did miss your videos but glad you’re back and let us visit England again. I also “kinda” crochet and m trying to make a large stuffy dragon out of blanket yarn and yikes I’m having some trouble but hope to continue and learn. Great video.
@@SustainablyVegan I had already been following you before the lockdowns, but it was during that time when you moved back home and started making all kinds of delicious treats in your beautiful kitchen that I began watching you regularly.
I just noticed your knitting technique and I can see why it takes you so long if you let go of the needles to put on the thread. I would hold the strand on my finger and grab/pull it in with the needle. Then you can do it very fast and even without looking at the knit. Just never let go of the needles.
I think you are a winter type in terms of colour scheme, because you have a fair skin and dark hair, like me. I'd safely say that the colours that would suit you are purple, burgundy, deep and salad green. I saw in one of MuchelleB's video that you can use AI to figure out your colour scheme by uploading your picture.
here's what I used: 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp chilli oil, chopped spring onions, sesame seeds, a little seaweed. I didn't use brown sugar but a lot of people do!
Loved this video! Yes, I do feel nostalgic about the videos from your parents' house. I am so sorry you live in the USA and the political lanscape is grimmer than UK weather ... I hope you feel you have a choice to move back to UK with your husband or be brave and watch a dark comedy or some absurd theatrical moves from the next" president". On a much lighter not, darling, would you share which one of amazing Ottolenghi" books the ragout is from? As far as Rainbow Plantilfe goes, 80 % of my Pintrest are her recipes ( along with "The First Mess", from Canada )and I pre-ordered her book for my Bday bas long as yours. Love The Conscious Kitchen and it's an amazing spiring book for people learning about sustainability and making things from scratch the make you connect with Nature and Wonder. Fermentation is an live process that will keep us alive and well beyond what most people know. Be brave, stay healthy and keep the good work. Much Love and Peace from Upstate NY, Raquel
I’d really like to know your thoughts on the recent US election as a resident, but not a US national? Has it swayed your plans at all? Particularly as you’ve mentioned potentially having children in the future.
Yes it absolutely has. I've spoken about it a lot on instagram, and tbh it's really devastating for both me and my husband. We have had a lot of very serious conversations about when we should move, and how we would go about doing that. We aren't ready to move back to the UK and we're not ready to start a family but the future here is very very scary. The problem is that it's expensive to move and we will need to go through the whole visa process for my husband to move to the UK so no matter what everything will take a lot of time, and a lot of things are out of our control. We are both truly horrified by the election result.

I adore your videos.
Loved this 💛
I remember this kitchen very well 🤎☕️🧹 I would guess your a winter. Maybe raspberry, mullberry and pine tree colours?
Ohhhh interesting! I will try out some of those colours
Do you know where I could find the recipe for the Roasting pan ragu by Ottolenghi?
I love your parents house is the home that I. Dreamed of.
Thank you.
Thank you for being here xx
@@SustainablyVegan I had already been following you before the lockdowns, but it was during that time when you moved back home and started making all kinds of delicious treats in your beautiful kitchen that I began watching you regularly.
ah thank you!
Are they just ideas or is it possible to find your recipes for all these dishes? :)
The recipes from other people are mentioned in the chapters but everything else is super simple and just thrown together with whatever I have around!
What is the pattern of the sweater you’re wearing? The coffee colored one
Oh I have no idea it's my sister's and she bought it from Toast
Why did you change the name of your channel?
Trying so hard to see what all you put on the silken tofu in the beginning!
here's what I used: 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp chilli oil, chopped spring onions, sesame seeds, a little seaweed. I didn't use brown sugar but a lot of people do!
@SustainablyVegan awesome thanks so much!! Keep up the great videos ♥️
Nostalgic for your parents’ house 🙋♀️
@@SustainablyVegan Same, it was a sickening punch to the stomach...
Bye bye!❤
@@Nsb2488 joking about this, seriously?
❤❤
Ah, Sussex. Wish I were there. Given the choice to live there or in America, why on earth would you not choose England. It's so insane over here.
❤
Dear Immy, I was subscribed to your YT channel for many years but miss the kind of videos you made in the past. This video reminds me of them and made me decide to unsubscribe because I realised you have moved into another direction. The change in channel name says it all I guess. I wish you all the best in life and thank you for the enormous inspiration you have been!!!!
Thank you for being here for such a large portion of this channel, I've always appreciated your comments and seeing you here in the comment section. Thank you for the support and I wish you all the best too! It's been a pleasure xx Immy
What beautiful countryside….can you really just walk through farmers’ fields with sheep?!?
In the UK we have what's called "a right to roam" so public footpaths go through fields which have sheep, cows etc in them!
Honestly Immy, I prefer you in the UK, and your Britishness. I still watch your US videos but you have lost something. However, everyone changes, and living there is a new chapter. I still enjoy your videos but miss the old you.
Yay, colour theory 🙏I hope my comment helped you ❤ It saves a lot of money, especially as you go to such amazing heights making things 🫶
