  • Be sure to watch the last few minutes of the video before following the process. There might be an easy way to fix this quickly.

    It gets mistaken for the pull lever you would use to move the seat back and forth with manual seats.
    I know cause I ripped mine out on accident shortly after getting my car.

      happened within 5 minutes of borrowing my friend's 2007 not realizing they were electric seats.... might just bring it to a mechanic!

    I can’t thank you enough for this video. I’m not a car guy. I don’t know how to do these kinds of things. I was already in over my head trying to reupholster my front seat when I accidentally ripped that “bar” out. If I hadn’t seen this video I don’t know how I would have figured this out. Me and my 12 year old son followed your instructions and got it put back in. Thank you so much for taking the time to film and edit these instructions together.

    This is easily the best explanation of this entire process.

    2008 and later models use flexible cable with screw caps making the process much simpler. Fixed mine in 10 minutes. Thank for very helpful video.

    Thanks so much! I’m having the exact problem with my 03 Honda Pilot. Got a “new” front seat front the junkyard to replace my broken one but that piece was missing. Luckily my old seat had the part but I’ve been trying to figure out how to get it back in and there’s not a lot of info out there on this. So I really appreciate you filming this video!

    thanks for telling of faster way to get the 2 pieces apart. glad you were honest at the end and showed the faster way to do it. btw i guessed you needed to be careful to make the sides equal so the seat would slide evenly.
    this video saved me lots of time.

    Thank you so much, the only video for changing the shaft I believe. I shall give it a try next weekend, it's a Honda Odyssey, but I think the mechanism would still be the same, our shaft came out after someone rear ended us.

    Hi, I bought an Accord few days back with the same seat issue. Maybe it's a weak link. Thanks a lot for the video. I've looked everywhere to find out what it might be and here it is! It might be tricky to find that part, but at least I know what I'm looking for. Hopefully there will be an easier way to put it in place, indeed.

    • @brianmorris3614
      @brianmorris3614 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you could try other key words to get you there ‘power seat drive shaft (make model ect) square drive, or head, or worm drive if you got something weird. hope that helps. keep this comment alive if you figure out better search terms

      One-piece drive shaft. Two-piece drive shaft. Slip-in-tube drive shaft. are what google says are good wording combinations depending on what you are looking for. hope this helps!

    So for the next visitors, the last minutes of the video is all you need. Just unscrew that 1 screw, and move the rail up. BUT! Be careful with one thing! As i see on the video, he makes the same mistake like me. BE SURE that the BOTH rails are at one of their ends (same level). In other ways the seat will be skewed and will end stuck into the middle console. If you have drill machine, you can use it with the spring to make sure, that the rail is at it's end, because if one of the rails touch the end, the motor stops and the other one stops too and doesn't go all the way.

      Do you need to remove the seat out to unscrew that one bolt or can we do this whole process without taking seats off the car??

    • @dimitrov.nikolay
      @dimitrov.nikolay วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Abz84 You have to. Because you have to pull up the one rail. You can't pull it up if it's attached to the car.

    Did mine today and it he’ll to get it back in, just reconnect the plug and bring the chair backwards, reattach then bring it forward but mine is still not lifting the seat but it’s going forward now

    Not related with this video, but the leather of my seat has broken where I sit. I bought a seat with the back broken, can I get the back of my seat and install it to that one?

    • @PrincetonProjects
      @PrincetonProjects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. you may have to open the corner trim on both sides and remove few bolts under there. It would be better to take the seat out of the car.

    does anybody know where I can buy this part online without hitting a junkyard?

    • @PrincetonProjects
      @PrincetonProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I generally search "used car parts" website like www.car-part.com. They will show you closest junk yard that has the part. I call them to confirm price and availability then pick it up in person. Such bulky used car parts are not worth shipping. And yes, if you were referring to the shaft link itself then someone can comment about the part number.

      @@PrincetonProjects so I wasn't even sure what the part is called. shaft link?

    In the beginning of your video your kid is flipping off the camera my daughter was watching it with me not cool

    • @Abz84
      @Abz84 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Bro, that was unfortunate and did unknowingly. That kid doesn’t even know himself the meaning of flipping I guess and neither your daughter knows (if she is a kid) if she is raised well.
