I absolutely loved Sherlock. It's hard to explain why, but I have fond memories of evenings spent watching episodes. The characters, written and played to perfection, by wonderful actors; the way in which it always manages to surprise, take you by surprise, impress you with brilliant insights and articulated cases. The extreme realism of the scenes, of each setting, the subtle link between psychology and feeling of the characters with the resolution of cases and irony, makes this series unique, to say the least, not to be missed. One of the most beautiful I've seen
The choice of rhythm for this video is brilliant. Usually, we see the fast paced sherlock theme but this is classic. Also, missing some brilliant build up shots like the one when Sherlock meets Hudson in Empty hearse
*Sherlock Holmes* : Oh, enjoying the thrill of the chase is fine, and creating the distraction of the game I sympathize entirely, but SENTIMENT... sentiment is a chemical defect found in the losing side. *Irene Adler* : Sentiment? What are you talking about? *Sherlock Holmes* : You. *Irene Adler* : Oh, dear God. Look at the poor man. You don't actually think I was interested in you? Why? Because you're the great Sherlock Holmes, the clever detective in the funny hat? *Sherlock Holmes* : No... because I took your pulse: elevated; your pupils: dilated. I imagine John Watson thinks love's a mystery to me, but the chemistry is incredibly simple and very destructive. When we first met, you told me that disguise is always a self-portrait; how true of you. The combination to your safe: your measurements - but this... *Sherlock Holmes* : [taking her cell phone] ... this is far more intimate. This is your heart, and you should never let it rule your head. You could have chosen any random number and walked out of here today with everything you've worked for, but you just couldn't resist it, could you? I've always assumed that love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof. *Irene Adler* : Everything I said - it's not real. I was just playing the game. *Sherlock Holmes* : I know. And this is just losing
The cinematography of this show is actually insane. I’ve never seen action, heart to hearts, and drama shot so well and so cohesively. And the music and acting and stories are brilliant. Truly an amazing show
Honestly, it's very refreshing seeing a positive, BBC Sherlock appreciation type video on this platform. Say what you will about how the show holds up, it's still gorgeously shot and edited, and so is this video. Brilliant job, The Beauty Of!
This literally made my day. I have recently watched the “sherlock is trash and here’s why” video with 6 million views, and, although I really didn’t want it, almost quit liking the show as much as I did. This video made me reconsider the beauty of the making of sherlock, and is just straight out stunning and inspiring for editors like me. The comment section also convinced me once again, that it is okay to like Sherlock, because lots of people like it too. And its not a bad show.
i cant explain how perfect this show is, i just loved every single second of this masterpiece, and i'm so proud to say that Sherlock is my favorite tv show! thank you mark gattis, steve moffat, bbc and everyone who made this perfectly perfect dream come true. i love each one of you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! ps: one of the best videos of cinematography i've ever seen! congratulations to the creator, it's amazing!!
This video is absolutelly brilliant. I missed the morgue scene with mycroft and sherlock tho. "All lives end. All hearts are broken. Caring is not an advantage, Sherlock".
Seeing this montage made me think: When you are able, "The Beauty of Hannibal" will be a somewhat daunting project, because the imagery is often so captivating and amazing. It had such high quality visuals, especially for a network prime-time crime drama. Pity it got the axe after only three seasons. I have watched the series three times and every time it is mesmerizing storytelling. It's not for everyone; "Hannibal" occasionally showcases some ghastly, albeit striking, scenarios.
Im still so pissed that NBC never cared for the show, never promoted and changed the schedule all the time, and still wanted a lot of people to see it? The show deserved better.
@@jessica5497 Moving its time slot around (four times, no less, and _twice_ halfway through season three) was insane. It was almost doomed by that alone. The network heads are often mentally sharp as an old tomato.
@@eduardo_corrochio oh goodness that cinematography perfectly represents Hannibal it self. It’s so Sophisticated and the script... it is quite enthralling to my heart
This moved me so much since Sherlock was my childhood. Might sound weird cause Sherlock is for adults but I don't know how, I watched it and I adore this series. Can you do the Three Colors Trilogy next? Just a suggestion.
Sherlock is apparently pg13 (or whatever tv equivalent of it is) actually, so it is many people's childhood actually. So you sound perfectly normal. However, if you would've said something like Game of thrones or The L Word, then I might've liked some word with your parents.
Can't believe there wasn't the umbrella shot (Mycroft in front of the cafe, shot from up) and the shot when they both look through a small window in a hospital. Still great video!
I watched this show for the first time sometime last year, I have now rewatched it like 5 times since then. This show is so quick witted and fast pace it's amazing. Cumberbatch is fantastic in this role and of course the Moriarty villain is just all kinds of fun. Awesome vid as usual!
You did justice to this show. Such a beautiful video! After all the people hating on it because they don't understand the fourth season I was so happy to see this. Thank you
I just finished watching the series and was looking for a place to geek out (I felt a little slow to party 🙃). But I was truly impressed with the cinematography, editing and visual effects. It’s not just that each of these elements are remarkable on their own (which they are), it’s also that that they build on one another to deliver a truly visceral sensory experience that lingers in the mind long after each episode ends. And your edit encapsulates this beautifully.
you should do the beauty of "Patrick Melrose" sometime. If you haven't watched it , I really recommend you do. It's got an amazing cinematography as well as soundtrack.
I went to London last year. This city is beautiful, and one of the factors that made it look like that, for me, was watchinh Sherlock before going. See the places where the characters have been, and the most important, remembering the Soundtrack.
The cinematography in this series is widely accepted to be amazing but I find the modernization the most impressive thing. It doesn't feel try hard and it doesn't feel pathetic

first two seasons were downright perfect. S04 was a major let down.
I'm surprised you didn't include the falling into bed transition.
I thought the same thing!!!! ♡ missed it very much.

If your goal was to make me want to binge the entire series again this weekend, you’ve succeeded! :D
Sherlock can be beautifully shot with gorgeous lighting and framing, and then there's the Hound of Baskervilles Mind Palace scene.
Ok Twitter
It seriously is the worst of the lot.
Hmm ok
Ok yes that kinda sucked but.......... it wss still sort of ok??? Ig??? Oh who am i kidding it was terrible
Considering how much I loved the Abominable Bride Mind Palace scene as well
