My friend Andres has a beautiful collection. On this occasion I will present to you the largest tips that he has. It is thought that this type of points were ceremonial but they could also have been used on spears for big game hunting. These points are generally found where the coastal natives lived, that is, on one side of the sea. It is believed that they were also used to fish for large marine pieces. I HOPE YOU ENJOY.
On the entire shore of the Pacific Ocean there are water entrances to land that we call estuaries. They are up to kilometers long. When the tide goes out, large pools remain in which some large fish are trapped. I think that the natives hunted them there with spears and spears like are. BLESSINGS.
Of course they did... Awesome blades have been discovered in burials, and large caches, containing pieces that were fashioned well beyond, normal skill levels... this Was, something they did.
Yes, my friend, and perhaps almost certainly they were used in ceremonies, but I also believe that each of these pieces had a use according to the needs they had. Rare pieces to find but they still exist. BLESSINGS ALWAYS ON YOUR WAY.
I agree, most highly, Senor! With the skill that the natives did have, there has to be a reason, why they were not serrated! They must have had a particular function, is my guess...God Bless! 👍
Good Afternoon Coyote 🐺 Arrowhead Hunter hope all is Super Great with you SIR!!!! I'M BUSY PICKIN' UP PECANS CRACKIN' OUT PECANS AND PITTIN'EM IN THE FREEZER TO BAKE PECAN PIES COOKIES BROWNIES ETC
I would love it too, my dear friend. Oh yes I have heard of that mound culture. The Mississippi River was like the Nile River or the Euphrates, great cultures flourished on its banks. My email is jesusromerosanchez@yahoo.com in case you want to share photos of your collection. 🌺💖🙏🏼🌞
The large barbed tangs might suggest they were used to spear aquatic fish and mammals. The other artifacts look like knives used in processing them. Take care my friend Coyote 👍🏻
No friend, in the introduction I explained that I visited a friend who showed me his collection of points and allowed me to take photos of the large points. I wish they were mine. Peace among humanity.
HAHAHAHAHAHA I already have two points like those friend. In the first videos of the channel you can see it th-cam.com/video/K-bmdNjfHiQ/w-d-xo.html BLESSINGS.
Jesús, when you say “one side of the sea” did you mean on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, or on the other side which is the Gulf of California which is often called the Sea of Cortez? This artifact is very large as we can see. It has deep notches and well defined “ears” on either side of the notches. The presence of the deep notches might suggest it was NOT intended to be used as a knife. This could be ceremonial artifact due to its size but it could be used as a “harpoon” point for sea mammals like seals. Once again viewers of your UTUBE channel get to see an incredibly well made artifact. I would like to know the rato of the “width” to the “thickness” of this artifact at its widest position. Just from its appearance and careful craftsmanship I would guess the answer to my last question maybe 8 to1 or perhaps greater. The maker of this artifact possessed great skill.
Hello my great friend. Today my friend John arrived from Pennsylvania. I mean the Pacific Ocean. These pieces are works of art, I don't actually have them in my hands but they are very large, 6 inches the largest and they are very thin, millimeters. I think they hunted large animals like seals and fish. In the shell area we already found a large piece but 3.5 inches. I already told Pepe that you won't be able to come in February. BLESSINGS.
@ Please pass along my best wishes to John. I have a large piece of Georgetown Flint from Texas. The piece of stone is large enough that I will attempt to replicate this exact artifact as shown in the video. Jesus, you say the artifact is thin. It helps a great deal if the stone is of high quality to flint knapp a stone artifact of this size to be very thin. Not many modern Flint Knappers today are capable of making a stone artifact like the one in the video. This point reminds us that while the natives are often called “primitive” by people living today, they were highly skilled at stone tool manufacture.
Very nice blades. I think a lot of first stage blades are mistakenly thought of as ceremonial or called ceremonial for various reasons. Why would they make something so much nicer than the ones they use every day? Survival was very hard they didnt have precious ones set aside they didnt use.
Yes friend, I think that all these pieces had a very defined use and that they were used in ceremonies like any other artifact when burying, for example, a native who was buried with his belongings. But every artifact and tool had a main priority of use for a need. Very good my friend. BLESSINGS.

Excellent show. Yes, I can imagine they may have been large fishing spear points for the bigger fish. Who knows.
