  • What is the meaning of surrender? It means taking complete refuge in the Self, in your own Pure Presence. Ultimately, the sense of ‘I’ has to surrender itself to Consciousness, which is the very source of this ‘I’. But how can this ‘I’, which does not really exist as an independent entity, surrender to Consciousness? In other words, how can a wave surrender to the Ocean? Does a wave have any control over its arising? Is a wave apart from the Ocean? Of course not! In the same way that the Ocean is ‘waving’, Consciousness is ‘I-ing’. And yet, all there is, is only but Consciousness.!
In this process of surrender we come to the understanding that there has never been ‘someone’ who could actually surrender as there was never ‘someone’ separate from Consciousness or Pure Presence.
