Thank you! I try so hard to avoid these and other mistakes. I've heard about the mentioned mistakes not once from many vocal teachers around TH-cam and elsewhere and today I also realise the whole importance of it. But one thing I noticed about concentration is that in some moments when I get distracted and get my focus off but automatically keeping singing/ making certain exercise, I appear to sound better. Sometimes even to "Wow! I've just sang this piece I was struggling to so hard untill this moment!" Maybe it's because when you're over concerned about perfect breah support and all the stuff which must be considered etc ,you're kind of not relaxed enough. So when you basically stop overthinking the singing process, your actual singing will apparently sound more relaxed and natural. Guess that singing on certain level of experience, must become an instinct so that you don't have to guide yourself mentally in the process of singing. It's just like once you've learnt well a foreign language, you don't have to think about grammar while speaking it.
@gleb202 yes, overthinking can become an obstacle too; that’s more like anxiety, which is different from concentrating. And yes, with time a lot of things do become automatic, although we should always be aware if what we’re doing. Thanks for your comment. 🎶
Such good advice, totally agree you need to find the right specialist for your own needs. Great to understand the common mistakes as this will hopefully help me avoid some of them xx
Thank you for making us aware of these 7 common mistakes in singing.
