- Here's what you'll need:
1) Paraffin wax
2) Batik pen or Soft paint brush
3) Water for mixing dye
4) Any color dye (we've used red)
5) Rock salt (this will bind the color to the cloth)
6) Plain paper
7) Hot iron to melt the wax onto paper
8) Cotton cloth (white)

How do you keep the wax from flowing out of the jaunting tool? I gave up and went back to using brush.

Ibrahim Naujeer yes ye permanent hota hai... thodi process change kr sakte hai aap . Wax ko dye karne ke baad iron ki bajaye garam pani me nikalo to result or accha milega...
No it won't. You can't wash batik with regular detergent. Traditionally it's washed with a natural soap made of particular plant. There are some special soaps are sold for this kind of fabric. But you must not wash it too often, just wash it by hand with vry little shampoo n dry it in shady area no direct sunlight.

Hi ...Nice video....I am wondering why you used rock salt?
Rock salt acts as natural adhesive on fabric. so, the fabric colour on fabric won't fade easily when you wash it.

@@12chilly yea u can use.. it actually depends on the fabric powder u use.. in some cases we will use costic soda instead of salt. I don't want to confuse u.. try , u will get it.. 😊

@@12chilly on paper u can use acrylic paint directly na... Y to use salt? If u r doing it on paper u can use hot glue instead of wax. That will be more easy.
Dear which wax do you use,can u use plain candle wax or do you have to use a different one
zie p666 you can use just candle wax but the best is to use a mix of paraffin (candle wax) and beeswax. Paraffin cracks more easily and gives you that typical Batik cracked effect while beeswax is more flexible and will give you more solid coverage and less cracks. You can adjust the paraffin to beeswax ratio according to the effect you wish to achieve.

Hi, we don't retail any tools as such. This was part of a DIY series. You will have to search at art shows/colleges for the same if online doesn't work
