I certainly prefer the less edited down videos! It's nice to see more of the decision making and seeing how the clan grow as well as learning how things work! Thank you so much!
Yes this version of editing is a lot better, not only does it allow a peek behind the decision making, it's also less stressful for you in the editing, I believe. Because editing down what could be 2-3 episodes to 1 episode would take a lot more work :)
From a trying to learn this game perspective I love the idea of less compressed videos, from a consumption perspective I think that so long as it doesn't over burden your production queue then by all means. As always love the content, and put your mental health first!
Adding to people who have said they like the slower pace- I find it's easier for me to follow what's happening this way as someone who doesn't play a lot of these games myself but really enjoys watching Aavak play them.
Love that you are experimenting with your format. I hope that you aren't having to talk more to compensate for anything - always love your playthroughs 💚
I'll be the first to admit I'm in favour of 'MOAR!!' as far as videos go, and if this means more Aavak uploads, I'm happy, but I do also enjoy watching the big progression moments.
In preparation for winter, i made my clans toilets into 2x2 and added bathtubs. Since your clan is currently pretty big, you will probably need 3-4 toilets and bathtubs each to keep the clan members clean. As for family homes, i used 4x5 for the bedrooms and 2x3 for the childrens rooms when they were old enough to have their own rooms. I also added a common space for the music rack and some additional clothing storage (full sets of fur, linen and wool clothing take a whole bunch of space).
i think now that the clan is established there are a lot more things to work on and for us to watch, so feel free to cut only the boring eventless time i guess? loving the series, i don't mind more episodes! cheers!
I didn't initially think I'd have too much of a preference, but I actually do prefer the more lightly edited videos! It feels like, especially at this stage with the clan, there's so much going on that keeping more of the "downtime" in is worth it. Plus, it means getting to hear more of your thought process, which is always very nice :)
Following up on my comment from last episode, I think I can conclusively say I prefer it this way. Shows more of the game's mechanics if nothing else, and that's a huge part for me.
That's a very good point. The lighter edits allow more of the game's mechanics to shine through, while the little bits and bobs I'm having to work with/around to get large chunks of progress made do have a way of obfuscating that a bit.
I'm happy with whatever is easiest for you but I have to say- the lighter editing videos are very nice in terms of content and length for me. Thank you Aavak!
You are kicking the food situation's ass, and all without smoking meat! I'm genuinely impressed, as smoked meat is basically supporting my entire fledgling clan!
I like this other style more than the older style. And if it means less overall work for you, like you stated in the previous episodes prolougue, then it seems like a win-win!
I really enjoyed this experiment! I think of your style in this game as “intentional” - you have clear reasons for the things you do and seeing more of that is great. And it doesn’t feel like empty spaces of time because there is a plan - so seeing the growth is still something we can follow
If this is easier on you @aavak, i saw we keep it! I think its has been great myself. I love aavak videos that are 40 ish minutes. Makes it easier to sitdown and enjoy! :) (Lunch break video!!)
I think i like the new format better. It is a bit more relaxed and it feels more natural. As to the bowl from a log situation. It could be a pretty massive bowl.^^
Still liking this new episode structure. I think you should take some time and check over the priorities you have set for your kitchen and food storage, I'm not sure but I think they're set so that you can only have two sets of the brose so they make two lots and call it done thus not filling the table in the guest lodge as the closer one is empty. Not entirely sure but worth a quick look over. Enjoying the series, looking forward to the summer.
im loving these more detailed, half season videos, but i think you could try doing half seasons for spring, summer, autumn, but then maybe for winter do the full 10 day season video? either way im watching this series!
I'm definitely appreciating the less edited episodes. Especially so if it means more episodes with more informative content. Most important, though, is that you go with whatever is easier for you. It's no good for you or us if you get burnt out.
I've always preferred as little editing as possible. I understand needing to cut out long periods of inactivity, but for the most part, I like seeing as much of the gameplay as possible.
i dont know why but this concerns me a bit :D Worker: Finally i found the place were i am getting payed well, i have were to live, i am well feed, i am SOOOO HAPPY there! Aavak: oh i see u are happy. Well its time to say good bye! next worker plz.... LOL P.S. love your content @aavak!
I know it’s a copy paste situation but I am just to lazy 🤪 I totally enjoyed the first variation but since I like to play along with your episodes in my own gameplay a little less editing makes it more comparable 😊 Oh and if the new editing means more episodes to watch I am all for it 👍
Man that critter door reminds me of my co workers chicken coop. They didn't remember to close the door that one night and on the next day they found two of their six chickens dead and two missing. 😕
like with several of the games you play (going medieval comes to mind), I'd love to have the time to actually play them myself for hours on end. but, alas, I don't. "riding along" for ~1h every other day in my off-time is all I've got; so, personally, I'd prefer the "extended cut" :) (I've actually bought clanfolk like months ago, and so far managed to play a couple of hours, twice. 🙈)
i do not mind the bigger cuts and longer episodes. the only thing i do like more is more episodes/ uploads in shorter intervals. if the heavy cut and length is to much for more often intervals of uploads, i will do with shorter less edited episodes. :)
wouldn't researching and producing metal tools increase efficiency for the jobs, or is their only advantage that you can repair them? Maybe you could re-arrange the kitchen (room), so a dish rack is between the dish-washer and the kitchen (table) to reduce stuff ending on the floor?
I too enjoy the less compressed style! Also, I do wonder if your tendency to say 'henk' instead of 'hank' has something to do with our good friend Frenk the pilot 😅
Well this style and deeper? in content is nice, and as long as the work is the same or less than regular videos, just keep on doing this? Thoughi also mostly consume on side while reading or playing a game.
as per Aavak protocol i for scienced the whole series to get a good read, i do prefer the half season editing version of the newest two episodes it flows more smoothly and i can follow along better
With respect to making one bowl per log, I remember when people were playing Yonder a while back and I noticed that crafting one board required 4 logs. Sure, making the advanced material out of multiple of the material you find, but how exactly do you combine multiple pieces of wood into a single board?
Another reason I prefer more detail: apparently we''ve reached the point where a new chick is no longer comment worthy, also there were at least two mechanics you commented on as if we knew them, and I at least don't remember hearing about them before. Also, only tangentially related, I am hoping there is a bit more focus on the clan itself soon, I feel like we don't know what is going on with them any more, just the workers and projects. Not saying it is bad, would just be nice with at least a check in on them now and then. ;)
The highly edited episodes were great, btw, because you could see the clan grow quickly, but I am very happy to have multiple episodes per season. Not only is that more clan-time and Aavak delightfulness for me, but for you it's less stress and time sink! I think changing to lighter editing is win-win.
@@grimmsoul3096 : No no no, see, what you do is you carve out the bowl and then you keep nailing the rest of the wood from the log to the rim to make it bigger until you've used all of the wood.
I like hearing the ideas, especially if you're playing a 'difficult' scenario like frostgrave. The whole thought process might be a bit too drawn out for some viewers, please state the dilemmas
I don't really have an opinion on the editing, either is fine by me At 7:30 your clanfolk and workers drank all the water in the guest house, clogged both toilets and then just ran to the main house to sleep! This is the exact reason I gave up on having separate guest houses for now lol Having a pessimist worker isn't too bad if their primary focus is job they enjoy, but pessimist that enjoys care is just guaranteed grump since there are never enough jobs to keep them happy. Pessimistic haulers on the other hand... With 3000+ small stones in storage why not sell some of them? Several traders have offered to buy them
I don't mind edited, but multi-episode seasons could be good if talking through those quieter times isn't too taxing for you. I'm here for the combination of your soothing Welsh tones AND a cool game that interests me. Possibly more discussion about what it takes to make jobbers want to join the family? Can we, and by "we" I mean you, for-science that?
It's actually super simple; maximum satisfaction. If they are fully satisfied, and there's an available family member of marriage age, they'll request to join. It's a shame it's not more involved but there is a quality all its own to simplicity I suppose.
As a pessimist myself or realist given the crappy world we live on which is all out own doing that guy was just been a dick and not a pessimist he should be happy he has a roof above his head and food whenever he's hungry even if the place will stink of animal shit a lot.
I like the long form but the algorithm screws you for it. I would prefer hour long unedited videos with the fafing about character creation included... but meh.
As with the previous episode, I like this more relaxed, less compressed style of episode.
really appreciate you taking the time to offer feedback here in the comments, it's a massive help :)
Agreed😊
I'm really loving having multiple episodes per season. I enjoy watching more of their daily life go by.
I liked the lighter editing. Especially hearing your thoughts as you perform action. Gives an idea. More episodes is just a bonus.
I certainly prefer the less edited down videos! It's nice to see more of the decision making and seeing how the clan grow as well as learning how things work! Thank you so much!
I concur!
Cheers for the feedback :)
Yes this version of editing is a lot better, not only does it allow a peek behind the decision making, it's also less stressful for you in the editing, I believe. Because editing down what could be 2-3 episodes to 1 episode would take a lot more work :)
The flute rack is next to the toilets so your residents can toot while they toot 😂
XD I hate that I laughed at this joke.

I like the less edited episodes, because I like seeing more of the progression of the colony
Heck yes!!! More episodes means more our clan great! I’m all for the new editing change for more content!
Love that you are experimenting with your format. I hope that you aren't having to talk more to compensate for anything - always love your playthroughs 💚
I liked to have two episodes per season. was very relaxing
I enjoy this new editing style. I like when you share your thought process. Keep up the good work!😊
I too am in favor of possibly more frequent episodes and showing more decisions, etc. Love this series!

Definitely loving the 2 episodes per season format. More content yay!!!
Yay part 2. Honestly if it’s easier to break one season in to two parts do that. Love the content!
Love watching and listening to you play clan folk!
I'm happy with whatever is easiest for you but I have to say- the lighter editing videos are very nice in terms of content and length for me. Thank you Aavak!
i do like the idea of having more frequent episodes to watch our great clan, the style of either or works for me though
You are kicking the food situation's ass, and all without smoking meat! I'm genuinely impressed, as smoked meat is basically supporting my entire fledgling clan!
More Aavak, is best Aavak 😊
I can’t wait for all the upgrades!!! Chicken coop, another farm area and a barrack!
i really like these less edited down videos!! but either way thank you very much for always being such a calming and relaxing presence!
The “and I will take this wheel of cheese” at 1:37 made me laugh like a maniac. I has to watch it like 4 times

Less editing means more Aavak. That's a plus in my book.
I’m thrilled to see a new episode! I enjoy this series a lot so I like seeing more of what is going on.

I think I prefer this style of editing! It felt a bit more relaxed
I like what every you post on here because it's all entertaining and enjoy to sit down and watch at home or work
im loving these more detailed, half season videos, but i think you could try doing half seasons for spring, summer, autumn, but then maybe for winter do the full 10 day season video? either way im watching this series!
That might work, as Winter is such a slow season typically, with only a little progress happening. This might be a good compromise.
If lighter editing results in more episodes I'm all for it Aavak; love your content.
I like the chill episodes just as much!
I feel like I learn more watching the longer gameplay. There are small morsels of information I might miss in the shorter versions.
Really enjoyed this edit again. So if you feel like continuing like this, I'm up for it. Same for the 1 season per episode if you prefer that.
My awnser is simple: I like to see more of you with these series. If that means less cuts than i Happily have less cuts.

no prefrence other then Aavak content. 😁
My opinion on editing has always been the same... more Aavak, best Aavak.
Love the content Aavak, was wondering if you are gonna try out the game Norland?
I've been looking at it, time is a bit tight right now though, but it's very much on my radar :)
Man that critter door reminds me of my co workers chicken coop. They didn't remember to close the door that one night and on the next day they found two of their six chickens dead and two missing. 😕

this way seems better

Aavak! I am a big fan and I was wondering why you stopped the 1.5 Stardew Valley Series. It was (and is) the best Let's Play on TH-cam!

Clearly Bentham is just making really, _really_ big bowls. He just refuses to make any bowls unless they can double as small bathtubs.
you could probably make at least four bowls from one log even at max size
or the memes will just remain high eh

LOL XD I believe what you're describing is called a cauldron. And they are usually not made of wood. But leave it to Bentham to find a way!

I like hearing the ideas, especially if you're playing a 'difficult' scenario like frostgrave.
The whole thought process might be a bit too drawn out for some viewers, please state the dilemmas
Thanks for the feedback :)
Are there any enemy raids here?
No. It’s against environment
No, no enemy raiders in this, it's just the environment, so the weather and wildlife.
