- After more than two years in design development and build and a being under wraps for her 1,000 mile road trip from Northamptonshire, UK to Barcelona, the new British AC75 is now out in the open.
She is the fourth of the new AC75s to be revealed.

Given the bow graphics on Britannia, I think “Bubbles” would be a great nickname!
Maybe the "bubble-wrap" will be removed when racing starts? 😁
Spoken like a true anarchist 😉.
Kiwi here - looks good, best of luck!
Sounds like most of the comments are from people of the British media (sunk before she’s sailed). For me she looks good and will play her part in the upcoming event well. Good luck and bring that cup home 👏👏⛵️👍🥇🥂🍾😎
Good luck from Italy!
Pretty looking boat. Time will tell. Good luck challengers
One of the first to go.
...where???
Let's hope that this time they've designed and built something suitable for the prevailing conditions - last time they took a knife to a gunfight !!
I was wondering if the way the long skeg is suddenly cut off before the rudder may cause a low pressure area directly in front of the rudder causing cavitation?
sufficiently different to the others to be of interest to see how they go.
Need to scrape those barnacles off the front of the hull. How did they get there when it was out of the water?
Very much looking fwd to the end of this AC so that they (under the input of the kiwis) go back to boats that make watching racing interesting.
The interest of the races reduces inversely proportionally to the speed of the boats.
Exactly correct. At this rate the keewees will have skates on salt flats run by radio lol
Youd probably like chariot race's, instead of these modern things called car's,what a boring, look back over your shoulders comment, get out of the Middle ages,
Someone has to come last in the cup might as well be the brits ⛳
Thank God shes similar looking to the others..we dont want a repeat of the last designer disaster..and I think shes prettier than Luna Rosa..hats off to ya Brits..
It's not more beautiful ... but the only important factor is speed.
Anyway, it's Luna Rossa, red moon, not Luna Rosa, pink moon
But it IS a radical design. The rudder is well forward of the other boats, and the centre of gravity too. So once again it's a risky strategy that may be well ahead, but may equally crash and burn.
Looks fast.
Hope it's more reliable than the old British cars..What!!
I think that full bow section is an aerodynamic mistake. The boat is built with displacement sailing in mind. The other teams are all about foiling aerodynamics.
Unless they presume the sea state will make foiling near impossible, it seems unlikely that they have done that. Boats have now foiled for the last decade of the AC.
it’s an aero feature, alinghi has something similar
Yep a lot of volume low down ...but are they thinking that it might get them onto the foils faster, if you think about it that volume is almost like a bouyancy aid getting the rest of the hull (wetted area) out of the water .....just a thought
There are some weird hull lines around the foil arm. They don't look as smooth or fast as the other hulls we have seen so far.
realistically those are irrelevant to the boat performance it's just aesthetics
Nice👍🏴
Interesting hull design, I’m not concerned at the fullness below the bow, it emulates a dolphin, whale snout, let’s hope it suits the varied weather conditions when racing, Barcelona is unpredictable. Who skippers ? Is Ben Ainslie still at the forefront ? Isn’t about time we had fresh blood at the Helm. Ben is rapidly becoming sailings version of nearly there Tim in Lawn Tennis.
Front half... make Up Periscope sonarman whale sounds. Lots of complex shapes. Back half "we can't afford computer time so everything has to be flat and straight, like the first stealth planes. Russian jets work this way, everything is spent on the front bits.
hahahaha
I would still say this is the most divergent design so far.
Teens New Zealand shod build the deck on the youte of Canvass
Graphics will scare the fish
Anybody out there betting on Ineos reaching the challenger finals? ......certainly not me, I think they are likely to be first or second to be eliminated 😢😢😢
British Americans cup boat design never working is an under statement.
It looks like a humpback whale to me.. love it
Win is in the bag. Britannia to rule the waves again. (Gulp) :) :/
Get sailing ,, hurry up
Looks like Ineos got 5 year olds to design a car then ended up with this shocker.. again they are behind the pack, wait for Ben to revert to his usual practice of ramming the other boats and shouting at everyone.
Hes gotta catch em first.
Lol
Sir Ben Complainslie
Either Ineos has got it right and the others have it wrong or vice versa. Time will tell.
@@mintoxace5571. At times, yes
Nor has etnz when it has gone for more radical ideas. Even their first foiler resulted in failure, barely.
I think they've got the hang of it now though.
@@listeningto8371 rule one. Don't let the chicken out of the bag too early. Those new foils might be interesting.
It looks like a whale 🐋
Hilarious seeing all the earnest hull analysis on these stilted contraptions that never touch water...
