Prequels we’re an absolute master piece… Star Wars is politics “Please your majesty, stay here where it’s safe!” Immediately thereafter dispatches Darth Maul after them 🤣 🤣 🤣
He's a politician who burned half the galaxy down in the pursuit of power. I wouldn't say genius, I'd say he lacks a conscience like any other elected crook in a suit.
The first 30 seconds debunk all the whiny criticism against Jar Jar. Is he a little stupid and annoying? A little. Every comedic character is. But he's also friendly and compassionate. He is afraid for Padmé's people (who are prejudiced against Gungans) as well as his own (who have banished him). He understands the odds to be worried, but also believes the Gungans will fight bravely to avoid that. He even ponders that maybe that's why Nabooians don't trust his people, showing he isn't a complete moron. As for the racism accusations? Frankly, people need to get off their high horses. Who in their right mind watched this the first time and thought "OMG, they're insulting and prejudicing against Jamaicans?". This is literally an alien race from another galaxy. Chill the fuck out! I would pay to see a movie about Jar Jar during the Empire Era over any further content from Disney-Canon and the Sequel Trilogy characters. Aside from the two main characters in this scene (Padmé and Palpatine), the two side-characters present (Jar Jar and Panaka) have more proper, well-written character lore and worldbuilding to them any Rey, Kylo, Finn or any other Disney-Canon character ever had.
I'm glad someone else has said this. I always liked Jar Jar Binks as a kid and still do now. I never found him annoying. I always found him entertaining and definitely added to the movie for me. You're right, the first thirty seconds really show how much more development Jar Jar could have. I would like to see a serious version of Jar Jar, especially since he's a representative in the Senate. I feel terrible for Ahmed Best who played Jar Jar. He received so much hate for this role that it practically drove him to suicide. He's a great man from the interviews he's given. He doesn't deserve any hate.
Jar Jar never bothered me and I find the criticism of him annoying. He wasn't my favorite character, but he did bring a lot to the movie that was overlooked. To me, he was a part of the canvas. He was comic relief in a trilogy that would need it because of what was coming in Episode III. I hear he would have had a larger role in later movies, but Lucas was talked down from it. A shame because I would have liked to have seen what Lucas would have done with him.
Because palpatine is not his true self. Literally any worry you hear in his voice is all feinted. The queen returning to naboo is exactly what he wanted
@@AdeptKing It depends what you mean by rigged. A lot of people owed hego damsk favours and there were of course numerous backroom deals but the senators definitely majority voted for palpatine. It's not like in a rigged electon where ballots are thrown out and false ballots added in to ensure a certain candidate wins.
Im new to the franchise but I’m sure that senator will bring sanity and compasión to the republic.
😂😂
…from a certain point of view…
Stay tuned...
For all his flaws I'm sure he'll reduce corruption on Alderan to zero.
As long as you align to their views
"A surprise to be sure but a welcome one" "I WILL BE Chancellor"
That Senator Palpatine seems to be a nice, stand up guy. Hopefully he’s able to stop all the corruption in the senate.

Check out the smirk he did when the queen left
Pay close attention you'll see it
total mastermind 🤣🤣
You can see Palpatine begin to smirk as the screen fades, very subtle
He is the complete opposite of subtle
Palpatine played everything beautifully
It is absolutelty insane how many strings this one man was pulling
I know Amidala didn't mean it this way, but I have sometimes wondered if, by asking about other nominees, she had doubts about Palpatine.
She had no clue
In fairness, she was said to be "recently elected" as Queen as a 14 year old.
why would she ask then@@lukamilas8648
Love scope and vision of film. Starts with visual stunning sunset. You’re a genius George
Palpatine is a genius!
Reminds me of Merrit Rook from law and order SVU

What a nice man!
@1:56 she's asking him to bring sanity and compassion back to himself! She must've known he was a Sith ALL ALONG.
I actually thought you misheard it at first and then I remembered ☠
Darth plagueis last night 💀🙏
lol he's like: please sign the treaty or I will treat you poorly ;p

Let's not even mention what child Anakin's actor went through.
I think a lot of jarjars side antics in the clone wars did him a disservice, and turned his annoying qualities up to 11.

0:57 Is that Wedge’s father or am I not hearing him correctly?
It could be that Antilles is just a politically prominent family
Could be related to Captain Antilles maybe
