I think it's hilarious that the old sci fi writers all thought we'd still be obsessed with smoking way way into the future. I suppose you could switch it out for another destructive yet popularly accepted addiction 😄
Try getting past the finite view of these stories that you have, and actually enjoy the storyline itself. When you obsess on one particular element of tales as these, then you lose the whole content of what the author is telling you. Sure, you may not smoke, but these are made up characters. No, I don't smoke either, but I enjoy the humanisms these characters may have.
The then Surgeon General was still insisting that smoking is not detrimental to your health, does anyone know the name of this mass killer and did he die very wealthy?
NastyLittleBagginses yes it is, Librivox literally has hundreds and hundreds of short sci fi stories. Maybe a listener such as yourself could list the contents rather than throw a fit over your totally free audio recordings.
She sounds a little bit like a stoned or tired Hillary Clinton lol. But I think this narrator doesn't feel well by the timber in her voice. She's a pretty good narrator but I think she's just not at her strongest.

Missing Link is the first that is hard to listen to. A lesson in what not to do when reading an audiobook.

@@mirzamay I was thinking the exact same thing about The Misplaced Battleship, a good lesson for middle-schoolers about how NOT to read an audio book.
