On question 2, the answer is B which is find. How ever when the visual aid comes up it point to answer A. Had to pause it 3 times because I was confused apart from that. Your traing is always clear and helpful thank you.
You're right it does. On my copy it points to B but on the YT upload it points to A. Strange, and I can think of no reason for that to happen. But thanks for the info. Hope it wasn't too distracting. thanks for the support, Dave.
@@learnelectrics4402 just proves I should listen to what was said and read all the info you provided. Did get a question wrong, might be on another vid. But answered ' minor works cert' ( doesn't exist, it must contain installation )more errors u make the better I get. Cheers for the response and videos. Its been over 20 yrs since I did my regs last. I'm mostly right but keep slipping up. It's a good job basic testing hasn't changed. Can't fault find if you can't test. Cheers
A lot of folk ignore the contents page, it is so very useful. Most questions will follow the sequence through the book, but this cannot be guaranteed, the exam setter can mix and match some of the questions.
hi Dave just wondered if you can advise me on this please. When filling in the new EIC 18th amendment 2 certificate under the test voltage for IR test shall I put 500v in as before or would it be 250v now? Thank you
You should have tested LE, LN, NE at 500V at first fix and then 250V between live conductors and earth bar after putting all the earths in the earth bar and second fix/attaching appliances etc . As you did test at 500V then that's the one to put, it shows it was done. You can always pmake a comment on the certificate that you also tested at 250V if you wish. Its your certificate, write anything useful on it, it often helps somebody else that might follow you on the job or act as a reminder to you when you do a Periodic Inspection in ten years. Hope this helps.
If you have an insulating floor or wall, how many tests must you do. If you look at 643.5.1 as per the suggestion on the next two slides it should be self explanatory. hope this helps. It can come up as an exam question. Dave.
quick question for you Dave, if I can? I served my time as an electrician, went back to Uni, then into management. Twenty five years on I am looking to shift out of management and into a PT then poss. FT electrician. I have always keenly kept my electrical knowledge as up to date as possible but do not have up to date wiring regs. i am booked on a three day course then exam, the five weeks leading up to this have been revision on BS7671:2018, a lot of this with the aid of your Learn Electric short videos, blue and then brown book, a couple of hours a day. Simple question, in your opinion, do I stand a good chance of passing this exam or do you think that i have not allowed enough time and are kidding myself on here? thanks.
If you've been doing that amount of revision/study then you have really put yourself in a very strong position Kev. The exam is not about what you can remember, although you will remember some things. Its about using the book, being able to look at a question and pick out the keywords that guide you to the right part of the book. Using page 3 contents and the parts contents. This will get you to within 2 or 3 pages of the answer and anyone can find the answer in 3 pages. I bet, when you go on your course, you will be well in front of the others, because so many don't bother to do anything until the day. But at least you can tell them which YT channel to go to for help. Feedback I have, most people that follow my videos get between 85% and 90% - a pass is usually 60%. Keep watching, go over the questions in the videos again and GOOD LUCK Dave
95% I found the three day course a distraction after using learn electrics. THANK YOU! The course seemed to be more interested in finding ways to cheat the exam than anything else. Disappointing. @@learnelectrics4402
Just passed my 18th Edition! These videos helped so much! Thanks a lot
Great job Harrie, well done. Pass on the channel details to other students and help them.
And keep learning, its a great trade. Dave.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate your help to get us through the exam, as well as gaining access through the electrical industry.
Glad it helped, that is what the videos were for and congratulations on passing. Its a great trade to be in, keep learning. Dave.

Never thought of using the contents page in that way. Didn’t think that it would be in the order they are undertaken. Seems obvious now I know. Thanks

Thank you too, appreciated.
Question 2 needs the arrow moving from A to B
