Today we wanted to share how we found our first rental apartment in Amsterdam when we moved here from Canada. We talk about our experience working with a rental agent and finding the perfect little home for our first year in Amsterdam. We also share what we've learned and some tips for you on how you can land your first apartment in Amsterdam as well!

Wow great video! Thanks so much for all the advice! Im actually looking to move there from LA soon! Im currently trying to start my own business there under DAFT (Dutch American Friendship Treaty). Due to covid, I've been getting everything set up remotely. We can't wait to get there. Im looking to stay in Haarlem and just constantly clicking on every video that involves moving to the netherlands and stumbled across yours. Great video!

I work in television right now in LA and beeen taking gigs here and there on my own.. so when my wife and I decided we wanted to move to The Netherlands and found out about DAFt and the freelance market there. It seems like it makes sense for me to finally start my own thing. :)

hey guys so I am trying to find a temporal apartment for june, where are the best places to find one?
am planning to study abroad here and and two other friends are planning to stay for about 5-6 months for a semester, would documents of our income be able to be used to prove we could pay for the apartment
There's a lot of factors here, but generally yes. You will definitely need to show you income statements to prove that you can pay for your rent.
