My husband and I have been married for 25 years and we didn't have two pennies to rub together when we got married. These women will never know how fantastic it is to build a life together from nothing. We aren't wealthy, but I count myself as one of the luckiest women in the world to have a happy marriage to an amazing man and healthy children. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see people from your generation sounding the warning on where this attitude will inevitably lead: more broken marriages, more sad lonely people, and more damaged children.
So true, married for 4 years now and I got blessed with a hard working man. I didn't know it when we first got together (best friends in high school and got together in the end) but when I got pregnant right out of high school we both got straight to work and have been working our asses off to provide for our baby (fingers crossed we get our own little home in the next 5 years! Tough to do in california though!). He's my world and I couldn't be more grateful.
It's also not arrogant if a person with 100k says they make 100k and take pride in it. It's only arrogant if someone exaggerates his self importance. Key word is exaggerate. It will however make others feel inferior, which will likely make them think he's an asshole--especially if he's constantly bringing up how much he makes.
There is nothing wrong with a regular life, regular job, regular career, regular people. Do not let this crazy social media age make you think you always have to strive for high salaries or luxury. You can be just as content with your life as a rich person provided you accept that happiness and peacefulness is not external. Do not let these people make you feel bad about your life.

Like, you said, the problem is the mindset that some people have where they think they can just enter that life of luxury without doing shit. Lmao that's the crazy part. I make 45k a year as well but I'm single. But I started from the bottom, working factory and hard warehouse labour jobs. Like I'll legit have savings at the end of the month and I'm not even the stingy type. It made me realize aba is right, after your able to afford life necessities money becomes meaningless in relation to happiness or fulfillment. I had a very rich father. Owned over 50 properties and he never really provided for me and left my mom when I was very young but seeing how miserable and angry he always was taught me more than anything else. To this day I cringe whenever a friend tells me some ridiculous dream of becoming a billionaire or buying a sports car. I think it's my firsthand experience-simply understanding that happiness is mostly internal.
Man I started watching f&f after a bad breakup and it just made me bitter and insecure. All the talk about wanting a rich man and downing blue collar workers was infuriating to me, but after seeing this video it really put it all in perspective. I really appreciate you guys keep doing your thing

Tbh I think most generations pushed the idea of success so hard that it looked like we can’t be content until every desire is fulfilled in our lives which isn’t good.
I think part of the problem is all dreams are getting similar. Before, we can have "I want to take over my dad's trade shop" or "I want to be a talented artist". Some are unrealistic sure but they are varied. Now, most dreams revolved around "I want to be a TH-camr/streamer/gamer cause those people make a lot of money".
I think the idea of it was cool, but it’s implementation had terrible psychological effects. But then again I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s implementation wasn’t just one big case study to begin with lol

I got a little teary eyed when Aba started talking about childhood. I grew up poor, in shitty places, our home was broken into and burglarized on 3 occasions. But I also had an awesome sister, a hardworking mom who loved us both unconditionally and plenty of friends in my community. Despite the hardships my childhood was full of joy and happiness. I’m 30 now and reflecting on it all made me emotional and grateful for the life I’ve had so far. I love these guys man. Random childhood story, the toys people donate for toy drives, I was the kid who received them. My mom used to take us to a community center where they had a Santa handing out the toys to kids of low income families in the area. The toys were categorized by sex and age. So a boy at between 10-12 years old gets a toy from this pile, a girl between 5-7 gets a toy from that pile. My friends finessed the Santa by lying about their age to get better toys. I was so scared of lying to Santa but they convinced me and it worked. We did it 4 years in a row. Never stopped. 4-0. We had a system, instead of quickly rushing to get in line like everyone else, We would first look at the piles, look at the toys other kids got, ask them how old they were if they had a cool toy. After some investigative work we determined the age range that got the best toys and we would tell Santa that we are in that age range. There was nothing he could do about it lmaoooo I was young but just looking in his eyes I knew that he knew I was lying and that calling me out on it would put him in a really awkward situation so he had to accept it as long as I could hold my poker face and double down on my age. We laughed together about it like maniacs every time we got away with it. One of my fondest childhood memories is finessing the community center volunteer Santa with my friends

Man am I so glad I have come across this channel recently, the amount of reason coming from you guys is honestly inexplicably rare to find during these times. I never thought it'd be able to find anything like this that resonates on so many levels. I’ve been with my wife for 20 years now. I was making about 30k a year when we had our 2 children. That pushed to be a better provider. Joined an union electrical apprenticeship 16 years. For the last 7 years I’ve made about 145k a year. Didn’t have much but was happy. My wife is a gangsta with the finances. She and my kids are my blessings and reward!

My heart broke for my father who is a tax-paying plumber, who put my mother through university so she could become a public school teacher, who together with my mom raised two engineers, two police officers, one university lecturer, and at the moment, working hard to put my two sisters through medical school. When Aba mentioned the disgust coming from these ladies towards men who work blue-collar type of jobs, all those years of listening to my Dad's CCR music while I watched him arrange his tools--all those years--they all came rushing and I felt emotional. I will never be disgusted nor ashamed that my father is who he is. He is not perfect, but my god... my god, did he try.

I met my husband in college and we were BROKE. We’ve been together now 8 years and we now live comfortably, something we built TOGETHER. I wouldn’t change our journey for anything.

This is why I have so much respect for these two and thankful that they speak on issues like this. I’ve put so much unnecessary stress on myself trying to keep up with people who make more than me and choose to spend their money on expensive things and experiences, absolutely nothing wrong with that. But in trying to emulate that in my life, I was so depressed that I wasn’t living the opulent lifestyle that I saw on IG. It wasn’t until I got into a stable relationship with someone and lived with them and really checked my values that the most rewarding experiences weren’t at the club or 5 star hotels and restaurants, but it was with the small, consistent group of people who made ordinary life fun because they were there to enjoy it with me. Nothing wrong with realistic standards and consistency. But I understand how easy it is to get caught up in that idea of luxury and how destructive it can be to your wellbeing.
Most females don't want to work for the rest of their lives, they want to sit home with their kids and do nothing. So the logic is, if the man makes alot of money they can stay home and still live in luxury.

I have a friend who is a plumber. He makes 6 figures a year. He's a good hardworking man. Women look down on him for simply being a plumber because they see it as dirty, and yet will call themselves CEOs because they have only fans.
That's thing I don't get about some people. Being a plumber, electrician, truck driver, computer programmer and among other fields, they make very good money and people can live a comfortable life, if ya live within your means or cheaper. If they're good individuals and have similar end goals as you, then go for it and see how it goes. Yes money is essential but it isn't everything.

I am 24 year old woman, an immigrant. When I came to North America, I had different ideas and views about the world. Since I am highly impressionable, I got sucked in. I started obsessing over my looks ALOT. I got new clothes, makeup, accessories etc. 6 months later my life and my feelings were still the same. I threw out my makeup, donated the clothes. I uninstalled instagram. I realized when I was walking back home alone, nobody stopped and stared at me, nobody cared what I wore, nobody said anything bad at work when I was wearing mediocre clothes. Once I switched off my Internet, life was slow and at a normal pace. I had lesser anxiety, I was more patient and polite. Yesterday, I visited an old student to help with Math. At the end she gave me a hug and her mom made a special bulgarian bread for me. I was smiling the whole day. Its the little things that matter in life. I used my knowledge to help someone and that feeling is greatest.
I’m 29, have two vacation homes, have been making 6 figures for the last couple years, and launching my 4th company in a few months. These women looking for guys like me will not understand that we do not want women like them. First of all, I don’t have time to go on luxury trips or lux brunches every weekend. Until this year, I didn’t take a weekend off since 2016. Second, If I was dropping $150k on a Porsche or luxury things, I wouldn’t be able to afford to launch more businesses. Launching companies and investments is very risky, I will most likely lose that money. I’d rather drive my Prius and know that worst case scenario, if I lose everything, I’ll be fine.

When I dated my husband I was looking for someone who felt like we were family and who took marriage as seriously as I did. We got married at 20 and we earned about $10/hour each and it was such a fun happy time. After a while my earning potential grew more than I ever expected and we’re at $300,000/ year combined now. It’s comfortable but it’s the same stuff that makes us happy. We have the same jokes, the same hobbies and we do the same stuff we always have. Our favorite is BBQ on the weekend and just open the house and friends and family come in and out, very casual. Nothing beats that. The difference now we don’t make ppl bring their own meat 😂😂😂😂 We got this.
That is honestly true happiness right there. My parents and I used to do something similar with our neighbors but instead of bbq it was a seafood boil. I miss those days nothing better than eating good food and being surrounded by the ones you love.
As someone who has experienced and have friends that live "Life on an Instagram Filter"... I can personally tell you that behind closed doors every single one of these individuals are crying themselves to sleep with Sex, Drugs, Alcohol, Flexing, Etc...

I think women mis-interpret arrogance. They think just cause on day 1 he is outwardly 'humble' that this is him. Most of the time its simmering nicely underneath. I grew up poor and black in Germany. I recently moved back after 2 decades abroad and went back to the neighborhood with my daughter on my shoulders. When I heard the ice-cream truck ring, I shed a tear..she asked me why I was shedding tears… I just remembered how amazing my childhood was. No I disagree to an extent you are right but not completely , Our generation has produced weak people. It takes a lot of strength and toughness to come together with another person to build a community a family and raised them right.

This is so awesome. I never went to high school. I was home schooled and then went to tafe. Became an aircraft engineer. Left that and became a electrician. Worked in bars and bouncer for years. Double income. Saved. Met my wife who is a solid 10 when i had nothing. We were friends for several years and started two business together before we had our 1st kiss. We worked hard. Saved. Scrapped by. Worked 2 jobs at a time. Now we own multiple properties around byron. We still work hard. But our lives are alot better than anyone we know. And we did it together. Thats how you do it...
Bro, you are a lucky man. I found my significant other in uni. I got to know her from 1st year but didn’t really kick it until mid way second year. Then we just clicked and we had a shared understanding about life and shared visions, hopes and dreams. That’s when we knew we wanted the same things in life. I made it official by third year and we got married the second year after graduation. We’re know 10 years in happily married life with three kids. Having a ride or die partner that will write your life story with you and you for them is one of life’s greatest joys.
SO I went to an all girls private school that accommodated a lot of low income students. It's the cheapest private HS in the DMV, I'm sure. But sometimes I feel spared from the feeling to keep up with the Joneses that gets implanted in adolescent brains around high school if not middle school. Hearing that you were homeschooled is interesting to me because sometimes people treat others with alternative high school experiences like their aliens. But I believe there is a beautiful humbleness that can develop from those alternative schooling options.

I met a good woman who wanted the build something together. After almost 30 years of marriage, we have two great, hardworking kids, a house, savings, and friends. Sweden is a Social welfare state, you all have a safety net to fall on, USA doesn't have that, you can fall back into poverty and bankruptcy very easily in US. So Sweden had a different culture due to this

I’m from the Netherlands and we are known to be very direct and it’s not uncommon to ask blunt questions to people we don’t know very well but in a romantic setting I have never heard people talking about salary or demand a certain amount of money. It’s just not a thing that people focus on when engaging with each other.
Norwegian here, and I feel the same. Women here are way more comfortable with regular men, however the standard is (as we all know haha) better in Scandinavia XP people are generally better looking on average, humble and insightfull. (janteloven). And like mentioned above; we are more financially secure and therefore not dependent on a rich partner :/

My boyfriend and I have been together for over 6yrs. We're not married because we've both agreed to get to a place where we can live comfortably. He went to school for HVAC and I doubled down working to be able to pay our bills. He now has a great paying job and we've moved somewhere affordable. We were blessed to get a house and now, I'm the one going to school. We've been broke to the point we fed our kids but starved ourselves. I thank God I was blessed to find a man like him who is so committed to building together.
I'm technically poor, yet my family has all our needs met, we owe no one money, and we manage to save up enough for a big trip every summer. It's not about being rich, it's about using what you have to enrich your life beyond monetary gains.
@S A By poor I mean according to the class system, and I never said they were expensive trips. We go camping with an old ass tent my parents used and use the state campground because I'm a vet so it's 10 bucks a night. The entire trip including gas usually costs about 400 bucks. Yes it's a trip, it is by no means a lavish trip and almost everything we use is hand me down so it cost us nothing to get. They're two different metrics but I would definitely say that there is a greater tendency in those with ambition to get their sense of ambition from some sort of arrogance.
The years I've spent building a life with my husband have been the toughest but the most rewarding. I'm grateful. We've both grown as individuals and as a couple. We are not the same people we were when we met. Goals change, haircuts, and the like, but our willingness to stay committed to the long term journey has remained constant. I'm grateful. I got a good one.
It is very important and valuable. I'm a therapist and many grown adults still have issues wanting their parents approval and love. People want to hear they are loved, important, and that their parents are proud of them!

I gained a lot of wisdom and spiritual growth after enduring a near death experience, becoming disabled, car wrecks, long illness, and losing my brother within a couple years. It definitely showed me how fake, shallow, and selfish most people are focused on all the wrong things that don't matter when our lives end. You need someone who is loyal and authentically loves you for you and adds value not subtracts from your life. You're blessed if you only have a couple 2-4 true friends in this lifetime. I promise you the hard times in life will expose a person's true character and their loyalty to you.

The reason why he is able to conduct himself with confidence is that he isn't there looking for sex on a pedestal. The reason why so many melt in front of a gorgeous woman is for the simple fact that he has no self control to put looks to the side & focus on the woman's character. It still amazes me how frowned upon trades are when some of the highest paid people I know didn't even go to college but picked up trades instead.
I did the same and it was the best decision I ever made in my life thus far. I have TH-cam and TikTok which is different. I gain a lot of value from these two platforms, it’s been helping me find my way, heal, and grow. Those other platforms offered no value to me.
Is TH-cam a form of Social Media? Yes, but I think we all can agree that Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook are also used as a profile for ones social standing etc. They're very different. I'm too lazy to try and come up with the right way to say this, but I'm sure most can agree they're all social media, but come in different forms and the way they pact ones life.

I don't typically comment on TH-cam videos but this video hit hard for me. As a 33 yr old electrician whose been single for a few years I live this every day. Nobody cares about us. I am happy with my hobbies and my pets. I am happy with myself. But at the same time it's very lonely. You start to feel forgotten or unwanted. Thank you for this video gentlemen. Ima be honest, I cried, not because of the podcast with the girls, but because of what Aba said. I'm 28, still live with my mom, wich by the way, is the most generous women still with me today. I'm near finishing an IT degree, I will have an internship with the federal government in Ottawa, really grateful cause I've never accomplished anything in my life cause I thought "regular jobs" were nothing and I would aim to make milions, fast forward 10 years in that mentality and nothing has been done. Now I'm like REALLY grateful for my future and think it will be awesome to be an IT and continuing my hobbies. I'm 30s, single, and still live with my mom if it's any consolation. People look down on that, but I don't care. I was her caretaker through cancer, I pay rent, help with chores/errands, cook meals, keep her company, etc. It's not a luxurious life living it up on my own in the city or anything haha. I love it though. Got a good job that took me lots of time to build, got decent amount of free time, and I get to take care of momma 💜 Life is a little slower for some people, and I think that's ok

27 going to be kicked out in February of IT degree in Germany, here means that I am not anymore allowed to study that area in Germany. Now I am moving to another country with my girlfriend (because well she is not an average woman running after yachts) to pursue my dream. My wife and I started out as teenage parents (16/17) in a literal trailer park. We got married at 18/19 where I made 5 bucks an hr. with a 2 year daughter and my teenage wife in nursing school. It took me until I was 27 to find my first good job, we built our first house (got our own construction note) at 28/29 and now 32 years later, she's a middle-aged smoke show (no joke she's hot) :) and we live a very blessed life. Across this entire journey, the most important thing was us. Not money or things. I used to lay in bed at night in a 900 sq ft rent house and say to her, one day we'll live in a big house, we'll make good money but we'll serve the same God and you'll still be the center of what matters. I know in today's world this is a rare thing. It doesn't hurt that she aged so well. ;) Cheers...
My wife and I started with nothing too. We use to sleep on roofs to be able to be together. I got us our first place in a very rough neighbourhood. We now have 2 kids and earn good money (I’m a contractor). I’m planning now to build her a house. I can do most of the work myself (concrete, carpentry, insulation etc) and I look forward to being a grandfather with her by my side. I’m glad it turned out so well for you. We’ve been loyal to each other and don’t let outside forces come between our family. Our children will be raised to value the same things we do.

I screwed up my first marriage, dated around for a couple years and then stumbled into a very unhealthy, 7 year relationship with a single mom (3 kids/2 dads, + body count....yes, smh, just plain bad). I met my husband when he was a stockboy at target. I fell in love soon after, he made me laugh, he was always supportive. We literally had nothing, on food stamps, wic paying for our baby formula. We were happy though. Today, he makes six figures a year as an electrical power lineman and I am a successful hair stylist. We are each other's ride or die we've been together through the worst and the best and I will say the same about him that he will say about me, loyal af. None of these women are loyal, soon as you lose everything they'll leave you..LMy husband knows I have his back no matter what, because of that he puts me up on a pedestal, he knows I don't need those things, all the extras, but, he wants to give them to me for that specific reason. If he lost everything tomorrow, I'd pick him up off the ground, dust off his knees and we'd work it out together, these type of women make me sick. I met my husband, an exterminator, he was driving a 15yr old POS truck and lived in a bad part of town. Well, one thing led to another, we've been married over 20yrs. Little did I know when I married him he was making 6 figures but he was just frugal. We still live under our means because our nest egg is important to both of us. We were just talking the other night and he said, you could have done so much better than me. And I said that's impossible. He said why? I said because you bring me peace. How could i do better than that? And he agreed. Cause we rarely argue. We both value peace and loyalty.
My husband is an electrician and I am so proud of him. He supports our family so I can be home with our tiny kids. We aren't living a "luxurious" life, but we have some investments and we're content. and it doesn't follow trends, he's always going to have work. Trades, any trades are transferable too. You don't only need to work on construction sites. I work on movie sets and our gaffers are mostly electricians. People equal trades sometimes with construction. Some tradesmen get to travel too and can have a lavish lifestyle. You're unionized, got good benefits, unlike instagrammers..
He loves them as his own and provides well for us. We don't have it all but we have enough. We are happy and humble that's all that matters. I wouldn't have it any other way.

In 2015 I traveled to Phuket, Thailand with three of my college friends. One of the most eye opening experiences was how happy everyone was - the waiters and waitresses, souvenir creators, taxi drivers, etc. I was undoubtedly making more money than all of them, yet everyone seemed to be way more fulfilled and satisfied with their lives. It was simultaneously a beautiful and dark moment to absorb
It's because they don't need to show how 'amazing' their life is on facebook/gram/otherbullshit social media. I grew up in social housing in the 80s, but had such fun times!! I worked hard, had to restart in a new career and went back to university to get another degree (and rack up the debt, don't worry about that!) and I now earn plenty over 6 figures, and if I wanted I could go and earn more (. But at what cost? It has gotten silly - you just take on more stress, more hassle, more grief and for what - so you can have a new car every 2 years instead of every 4 years and live in a 4 bed house instead of a 5-6 bed house with 5 star holidays instead of 4 star holidays... Sure, great when you actually make the purchase, but a PITA all the rest of the time! The sooner people realise they have no consequence in the scheme of things, the quicker they'll get on with being happy instead.

Man this video hit differently for me. I am 22 now and my parents and grandparents came form Poland to the US when it was Soviet occupied. I was way too stubborn to learn Polish when I was younger and now I wish my parents were more strict about me learning Polish because my grandpa had heart surgery and it took me this long to see that I have a limited amount of time to speak with him and my other grandparents. On my Grandpas 78th birthday, we talked and he barely new English and I felt horrible because I knew, deep down, that it is so much easier for me to learn my native tongue than it was for my grandparents to learn English. They paved the way for me to have my own life and I was too young and stupid to figure that out til now. This channel helped me to learn that family and community comes first before its too late.
I had the privilege of my parents teaching me Polish since birth, even went to Polish school on Saturdays as a child. 3 of my 4 grandparents died before I could really get to know them, but I still have good memories. I lived in Poland by myself for a few years in my early 20s and, again, had the privilege to have a few conversations with my grandmother who died at the age of 93. Conversations with her helped further root me in my heritage and she passed on great life advice from a "Polish" perspective. I will cherish those conversations till death. If you have the time and the opportunity, maybe pick up Duolingo or Memrise and consume as much Polish media as possible to help you learn the basics (I personally love listening to music). Also, as embarrassing as it may feel, don't feel discouraged. I'm sure your spending time with your grandparents is enough to make them happy and any effort to communicate in Polish is admired. Do so as much as possible, maybe make it a learning experience for the both of you in the form of language exchange :) Serdecznie pozdrawiam
Its never to late. I relearned the language at 26. I wanted to dive in to some of the Polish literature and history, things I missed out on by moving overseas. Best thing I ever did. 👍

Culture is a big part of identity. My maternal grandmother was a polish child abbandoned with her older brother by polish parents in France around WWII (i don't know if it was before or after) My mother gave me nothing but some genes to relate to Poland. Her relation with her parents, brothers and sisters were not good and she moved to my father's familly when she can. My grandmother (french side) even affectionnaly called my mother "ma fille" "my daughter". Now, i'm just a french guy with some genes of Poland just like a lot of people from North of France. Anyway, stays healthy everyone from where ever you came !
Nobody on their death bed says “I wish I made more money” or “I wish I bought a bigger house.” They always say..”I wish I spent more time with my family “ or “I wish I had more kids.” “I wish I spent less time stressing.” “I wish I lived more fearless.” Money wasn’t even on the list.
I have what I consider the least stressful job I could have, and I enjoy it, and I always want to get better at it, and sometimes I worry about how much I make, but then when I look at what I have, I breathe a sigh of relief. Thankfully, every time I stress about it, I can talk to my wife. We talk about making the most of our money, but making more is rarely the focus unless it's to save up for a trip, or, eventually, retirement. So many things are just enjoyed in the moment, especially when you're working for it every day.
When girls say “don’t settle, go after what you want, get a high paid man”.. then when she can’t find that man, and she finds a man making 30k/year, small house in an ok neighborhood, she’ll feel like she settled for less, and will not be happy because she thinks “I’m not supposed to settle, I’m supposed to be taken care of without lifting a finger”
The problem is people want opulence and material things from their partners more than ever before, instead of building something with another person out of love.

Being outside for like 16 hours every day as a kid during each summer was insane. We had fun, the only time we played games was if we was near somebody's spot and it started to rain.
I was one of those kids! We had the best times and learned that happiness came from the ones we were around. We didn’t need validation from strangers. A luxury for me is having a conversation with someone. Really exchanging ideas. My ability to grow is not materialistic based.
One thing I've been struggling with as a young male is trying to cope a society driven by status and wealth. I don't crave money, I don't crave luxury, I just want to live a life where I can help others to the best of my ability. But everywhere I look there's a constant reminder of it whether it be social media, family, friends, you know everyone seems to be striving for this mold and trying to push me towards it. I really appreciate you guys shining light on this because it isn't talked about enough and its humbling knowing I'm not alone. Thanks guys
Right I’ve been with my husband 13 yrs and no lie -> I still wear the fake 10$ ring we got from a secondhand store. Iat this point ’d for real PAY thousands just to get my “fake old” ring back if I lost it.
My husband is blue collar trucking, we don't make a ton of money, but we worked super hard lots of hours early in our relationship so we saved up enough to buy our older vehicles out right and then we had enough to buy our house. I was able to quit my job and be a homemaker and he was able to get a job that had him home every night. We're not in luxury, but we have beautiful kids and I can get up and tend my garden and love my kids, and send my husband off with a packed lunch and a cup of coffee, that is true luxury and deep fulfillment
Congrats. I’m a hardcore introvert and may never marry (for a number of reasons). But I’ve come to recognize that having genuine connections with people I care about is one of the few things in life that is genuinely fulfilling. I’m also a fellow gardener… your “tend my garden” comment reminds me of the closing line of Voltaire’s _Candide_ (highly recommended).
I'm so grateful for this channel. I think part of what makes my generation more selfish and insecure is the negative feedback loop of self centred content and themes in our lives perpetuated by our peers or on social media. Having a channel like this which reminds me that my choices to strive towards being humble have meaning behind them and are valuable, helps me so much with staying on this path and keeping sane. My wife met me when I was early in my career and I didn’t have much I couldn’t even afford a fancy ring but she stood with me. Once I got my electrical license and I started making more I bought her a ring that she deserved and I am helping her through college to be a CPA and she has a goal to make more than me and I will support her the whole way just like she did for me. We are a team and that’s the way we’ve always looked at it. She just finished her associates degree and will be starting her bachelors degree here soon.
I hope it works out that way… but if she starts making more I would watch out….in my experience women don’t treat men with respect once they have power over them.
I personally don't care for luxury. The only reason I want to make a lot of money and perhaps even be rich is that I don't want to live my life stressed about money. I want to live a life free from worries and debt. I don't care really about having expensive yachts and mansions and ugly gucci clothes. I just want to be able to make money so where I don't have to sit around and worry about where my next paycheck will be, and I think that's the mindset people should have nowadays. People should value a stress-free life over luxury.

Honestly, in the last few years I’ve gotten so caught up in the rat race of life that I’ve forgotten where I came from. I’m from a poor family that worked hard to provide what they could for me and my siblings. At times, we didn’t even have food to eat. So true, married for 4 years now and I got blessed with a hard working man. I didn't know it when we first got together (best friends in high school and got together in the end) but when I got pregnant right out of high school we both got straight to work and have been working our asses off to provide for our baby (fingers crossed we get our own little home in the next 5 years! Like I'll legit have savings at the end of the month and I'm not even the stingy type. It made me realize aba is right, after your able to afford life necessities money becomes meaningless in relation to happiness or fulfillment.
I had a very rich father. Owned over 50 properties and he never really provided for me and left my mom when I was very young but seeing how miserable and angry he always was taught me more than anything else. To this day I cringe whenever a friend tells me some ridiculous dream of becoming a billionaire or buying a sports car. I think it's my firsthand experience-simply understanding that happiness is mostly internal.

I got a little teary eyed when Aba started talking about childhood. I grew up poor, in shitty places, our home was broken into and burglarized on 3 occasions.
But I also had an awesome sister, a hardworking mom who loved us both unconditionally and plenty of friends in my community. Despite the hardships my childhood was full of joy and happiness. I’m 30 now and reflecting on it all made me emotional and grateful for the life I’ve had so far. I love these guys man.
Random childhood story, the toys people donate for toy drives, I was the kid who received them. My mom used to take us to a community center where they had a Santa handing out the toys to kids of low income families in the area. The toys were categorized by sex and age. So a boy at between 10-12 years old gets a toy from this pile, a girl between 5-7 gets a toy from that pile. My friends finessed the Santa by lying about their age to get better toys. I was so scared of lying to Santa but they convinced me and it worked. We did it 4 years in a row. Never stopped. 4-0. We had a system, instead of quickly rushing to get in line like everyone else, We would first look at the piles, look at the toys other kids got, ask them how old they were if they had a cool toy. After some investigative work we determined the age range that got the best toys and we would tell Santa that we are in that age range. There was nothing he could do about it lmaoooo I was young but just looking in his eyes I knew that he knew I was lying and that calling me out on it would put him in a really awkward situation so he had to accept it as long as I could hold my poker face and double down on my age. We laughed together about it like maniacs every time we got away with it. One of my fondest childhood memories is finessing the community center volunteer Santa with my friends

This is why I have so much respect for these two and thankful that they speak on issues like this. I’ve put so much unnecessary stress on myself trying to keep up with people who make more than me and choose to spend their money on expensive things and experiences, absolutely nothing wrong with that. But in trying to emulate that in my life, I was so depressed that I wasn’t living the opulent lifestyle that I saw on IG. It wasn’t until I got into a stable relationship with someone and lived with them and really checked my values that the most rewarding experiences weren’t at the club or 5 star hotels and restaurants, but it was with the small, consistent group of people who made ordinary life fun because they were there to enjoy it with me. Nothing wrong with realistic standards and consistency. But I understand how easy it is to get caught up in that idea of luxury and how destructive it can be to your wellbeing.

I am 24 year old woman, an immigrant. When I came to North America, I had different ideas and views about the world. Since I am highly impressionable, I got sucked in. I started obsessing over my looks ALOT. I got new clothes, makeup, accessories etc. 6 months later my life and my feelings were still the same. I threw out my makeup, donated the clothes. I uninstalled instagram.
I realized when I was walking back home alone, nobody stopped and stared at me, nobody cared what I wore, nobody said anything bad at work when I was wearing mediocre clothes. Once I switched off my Internet, life was slow and at a normal pace. I had lesser anxiety, I was more patient and polite.
Yesterday, I visited an old student to help with Math. At the end she gave me a hug and her mom made a special bulgarian bread for me. I was smiling the whole day. Its the little things that matter in life. I used my knowledge to help someone and that feeling is greatest.

I’m 29, have two vacation homes, have been making 6 figures for the last couple years, and launching my 4th company in a few months. These women looking for guys like me will not understand that we do not want women like them. First of all, I don’t have time to go on luxury trips or lux brunches every weekend. Until this year, I didn’t take a weekend off since 2016. Second, If I was dropping $150k on a Porsche or luxury things, I wouldn’t be able to afford to launch more businesses. Launching companies and investments is very risky, I will most likely lose that money. I’d rather drive my Prius and know that worst case scenario, if I lose everything, I’ll be fine.
I mean aside from this topic, that’s pretty sad. You should be able to enjoy yourself and not just work. What’s the point of having money if you aren’t having fun?

When I dated my husband I was looking for someone who felt like we were family and who took marriage as seriously as I did. We got married at 20 and we earned about $10/hour each and it was such a fun happy time. After a while my earning potential grew more than I ever expected and we’re at $300,000/ year combined now. It’s comfortable but it’s the same stuff that makes us happy. We have the same jokes, the same hobbies and we do the same stuff we always have. Our favorite is BBQ on the weekend and just open the house and friends and family come in and out, very casual. Nothing beats that. I think women mis-interpret arrogance. They think just cause on day 1 he is outwardly 'humble' that this is him. Most of the time its simmering nicely underneath. This is so awesome. I never went to high school. I was home schooled and then went to tafe. Became an aircraft engineer. Left that and became a electrician. Worked in bars and bouncer for years. Double income. Saved. Met my wife who is a solid 10 when i had nothing. We were friends for several years and started two business together before we had our 1st kiss. We worked hard. Saved. Scrapped by. Worked 2 jobs at a time. Now we own multiple properties around byron. We still work hard. But our lives are alot better than anyone we know. And we did it together. SO I went to an all girls private school that accommodated a lot of low income students. It's the cheapest private HS in the DMV, I'm sure. But sometimes I feel spared from the feeling to keep up with the Joneses that gets implanted in adolescent brains around high school if not middle school. Hearing that you were homeschooled is interesting to me because sometimes people treat others with alternative high school experiences like their aliens. But I believe there is a beautiful humbleness that can develop from those alternative schooling options.

I’m from the Netherlands and we are known to be very direct and it’s not uncommon to ask blunt questions to people we don’t know very well but in a romantic setting I have never heard people talking about salary or demand a certain amount of money. It’s just not a thing that people focus on when engaging with each other.
Norwegian here, and I feel the same. Women here are way more comfortable with regular men, however the standard is (as we all know haha) better in Scandinavia XP people are generally better looking on average, humble and insightfull. My boyfriend and I have been together for over 6yrs. We're not married because we've both agreed to get to a place where we can live comfortably. He went to school for HVAC and I doubled down working to be able to pay our bills. He now has a great paying job and we've moved somewhere affordable. @S A By poor I mean according to the class system, and I never said they were expensive trips. We go camping with an old ass tent my parents used and use the state campground because I'm a vet so it's 10 bucks a night. The entire trip including gas usually costs about 400 bucks. Yes it's a trip, it is by no means a lavish trip and almost everything we use is hand me down so it cost us nothing to get. Just because my family can pull something fun off once a year doesn't mean we aren't poor, we may not be eating dirt or anything like that but as far as I know under 30k a year is poor in this day and age.

The years I've spent building a life with my husband have been the toughest but the most rewarding. I'm grateful. We've both grown as individuals and as a couple. We are not the same people we were when we met. Goals change, haircuts, and the like, but our willingness to stay committed to the long term journey has remained constant. I'm grateful. I gained a lot of wisdom and spiritual growth after enduring a near death experience, becoming disabled, car wrecks, long illness, and losing my brother within a couple years. It definitely showed me how fake, shallow, and selfish most people are focused on all the wrong things that don't matter when our lives end. You need someone who is loyal and authentically loves you for you and adds value not subtracts from your life. You're blessed if you only have a couple 2-4 true friends in this lifetime. I promise you the hard times in life will expose a person's true character and their loyalty to you.

I'm 30s, single, and still live with my mom if it's any consolation. People look down on that, but I don't care. I was her caretaker through cancer, I pay rent, help with chores/errands, cook meals, keep her company, etc. It's not a luxurious life living it up on my own in the city or anything haha. I love it though. Got a good job that took me lots of time to build, got decent amount of free time, and I get to take care of momma 💜

Now I am moving to another country with my girlfriend (because well she is not an average woman running after yachts) to pursue my dream. The knowledge I got and collected during the last semesters noone will take me that away. I am going to study IT outside of Germany, and since is about ECTS I can transfer my points. Instead of starting from 0.

My wife and I started out as teenage parents (16/17) in a literal trailer park. We got married at 18/19 where I made 5 bucks an hr. with a 2 year daughter and my teenage wife in nursing school. It took me until I was 27 to find my first good job, we built our first house (got our own construction note) at 28/29 and now 32 years later, she's a middle-aged smoke show (no joke she's hot) :) and we live a very blessed life. Across this entire journey, the most important thing was us. Not money or things. I used to lay in bed at night in a 900 sq ft rent house and say to her, one day we'll live in a big house, we'll make good money but we'll serve the same God and you'll still be the center of what matters. I know in today's world this is a rare thing. It doesn't hurt that she aged so well. ;) Cheers...

My wife and I started with nothing too. We use to sleep on roofs to be able to be together. I got us our first place in a very rough neighbourhood. We now have 2 kids and earn good money (I’m a contractor). I’m planning now to build her a house. I can do most of the work myself (concrete, carpentry, insulation etc) and I look forward to being a grandfather with her by my side. I’m glad it turned out so well for you. We’ve been loyal to each other and don’t let outside forces come between our family. Our children will be raised to value the same things we do.

I met my husband when he was a stockboy at target. I fell in love soon after, he made me laugh, he was always supportive. We literally had nothing, on food stamps, wic paying for our baby formula. We were happy though. Today, he makes six figures a year as an electrical power lineman and I am a successful hair stylist. We are each other's ride or die we've been together through the worst and the best and I will say the same about him that he will say about me, loyal af. None of these women are loyal, soon as you lose everything they'll leave you..LMy husband knows I have his back no matter what, because of that he puts me up on a pedestal, he knows I don't need those things, all the extras, but, he wants to give them to me for that specific reason. If he lost everything tomorrow, I'd pick him up off the ground, dust off his knees and we'd work it out together, these type of women make me sick. You are right they will either die alone or be with someone who makes them miserable just so they can have things, material things that we can't take when we die. I'd rather be broke and have someone holding my hand that I love than have a million pretty things and be alone
I met my husband, an exterminator, he was driving a 15yr old POS truck and lived in a bad part of town. Well, one thing led to another, we've been married over 20yrs. Little did I know when I married him he was making 6 figures but he was just frugal. We still live under our means because our nest egg is important to both of us. We were just talking the other night and he said, you could have done so much better than me. And I said that's impossible. He said why? I said because you bring me peace. How could i do better than that? And he agreed. Cause we rarely argue. We both value peace and loyalty.
My husband is an electrician and I am so proud of him. He supports our family so I can be home with our tiny kids. We aren't living a "luxurious" life, but we have some investments and we're content. and it doesn't follow trends, he's always going to have work. Trades, any trades are transferable too. You don't only need to work on construction sites. I work on movie sets and our gaffers are mostly electricians. People equal trades sometimes with construction. Some tradesmen get to travel too and can have a lavish lifestyle. You're unionized, got good benefits, unlike instagrammers..
He loves them as his own and provides well for us. We don't have it all but we have enough. We are happy and humble that's all that matters. I wouldn't have it any other way.

In 2015 I traveled to Phuket, Thailand with three of my college friends. One of the most eye opening experiences was how happy everyone was - the waiters and waitresses, souvenir creators, taxi drivers, etc. I was undoubtedly making more money than all of them, yet everyone seemed to be way more fulfilled and satisfied with their lives. It was simultaneously a beautiful and dark moment to absorb
It's because they don't need to show how 'amazing' their life is on facebook/gram/otherbullshit social media. I grew up in social housing in the 80s, but had such fun times!! I worked hard, had to restart in a new career and went back to university to get another degree (and rack up the debt, don't worry about that!) and I now earn plenty over 6 figures, and if I wanted I could go and earn more (. But at what cost? It has gotten silly - you just take on more stress, more hassle, more grief and for what - so you can have a new car every 2 years instead of every 4 years and live in a 4 bed house instead of a 5-6 bed house with 5 star holidays instead of 4 star holidays... Sure, great when you actually make the purchase, but a PITA all the rest of the time! The sooner people realise they have no consequence in the scheme of things, the quicker they'll get on with being happy instead.

Man this video hit differently for me. I am 22 now and my parents and grandparents came form Poland to the US when it was Soviet occupied. I was way too stubborn to learn Polish when I was younger and now I wish my parents were more strict about me learning Polish because my grandpa had heart surgery and it took me this long to see that I have a limited amount of time to speak with him and my other grandparents. On my Grandpas 78th birthday, we talked and he barely new English and I felt horrible because I knew, deep down, that it is so much easier for me to learn my native tongue than it was for my grandparents to learn English. They paved the way for me to have my own life and I was too young and stupid to figure that out til now. This channel helped me to learn that family and community comes first before its too late.
I had the privilege of my parents teaching me Polish since birth, even went to Polish school on Saturdays as a child.
3 of my 4 grandparents died before I could really get to know them, but I still have good memories.
I lived in Poland by myself for a few years in my early 20s and, again, had the privilege to have a few conversations with my grandmother who died at the age of 93. Conversations with her helped further root me in my heritage and she passed on great life advice from a "Polish" perspective. I will cherish those conversations till death.
If you have the time and the opportunity, maybe pick up Duolingo or Memrise and consume as much Polish media as possible to help you learn the basics (I personally love listening to music).
Also, as embarrassing as it may feel, don't feel discouraged. I'm sure your spending time with your grandparents is enough to make them happy and any effort to communicate in Polish is admired. Do so as much as possible, maybe make it a learning experience for the both of you in the form of language exchange :)

My maternal grandmother was a polish child abbandoned with her older brother by polish parents in France around WWII (i don't know if it was before or after)
My mother gave me nothing but some genes to relate to Poland.
Her relation with her parents, brothers and sisters were not good and she moved to my father's familly when she can.
My grandmother (french side) even affectionnaly called my mother "ma fille" "my daughter".
Now, i'm just a french guy with some genes of Poland just like a lot of people from North of France.

Nobody on their death bed says “I wish I made more money” or “I wish I bought a bigger house.” They always say..”I wish I spent more time with my family “ or “I wish I had more kids.” “I wish I spent less time stressing.” “I wish I lived more fearless.” Money wasn’t even on the list.
I have what I consider the least stressful job I could have, and I enjoy it, and I always want to get better at it, and sometimes I worry about how much I make, but then when I look at what I have, I breathe a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, every time I stress about it, I can talk to my wife. We talk about making the most of our money, but making more is rarely the focus unless it's to save up for a trip, or, eventually, retirement.
So many things are just enjoyed in the moment, especially when you're working for it every day.

My husband is blue collar trucking, we don't make a ton of money, but we worked super hard lots of hours early in our relationship so we saved up enough to buy our older vehicles out right and then we had enough to buy our house. I was able to quit my job and be a homemaker and he was able to get a job that had him home every night. We're not in luxury, but we have beautiful kids and I can get up and tend my garden and love my kids, and send my husband off with a packed lunch and a cup of coffee, that is true luxury and deep fulfillment

Congrats. I’m a hardcore introvert and may never marry (for a number of reasons). But I’ve come to recognize that having genuine connections with people I care about is one of the few things in life that is genuinely fulfilling. I'm so grateful for this channel. I think part of what makes my generation more selfish and insecure is the negative feedback loop of self centred content and themes in our lives perpetuated by our peers or on social media. Having a channel like this which reminds me that my choices to strive towards being humble have meaning behind them and are valuable, helps me so much with staying on this path and keeping sane. My wife met me when I was early in my career and I didn’t have much I couldn’t even afford a fancy ring but she stood with me. Once I got my electrical license and I started making more I bought her a ring that she deserved and I am helping her through college to be a CPA and she has a goal to make more than me and I will support her the whole way just like she did for me. We are a team and that’s the way we’ve always looked at it. She just finished her associates degree and will be starting her bachelors degree here soon.

I personally don't care for luxury. The only reason I want to make a lot of money and perhaps even be rich is that I don't want to live my life stressed about money. I want to live a life free from worries and debt. I don't care really about having expensive yachts and mansions and ugly gucci clothes. I just want to be able to make money so where I don't have to sit around and worry about where my next paycheck will be, and I think that's the mindset people should have nowadays. People should value a stress-free life over luxury.

Honestly, in the last few years I’ve gotten so caught up in the rat race of life that I’ve forgotten where I came from. I’m from a poor family that worked hard to provide what they could for me and my siblings. At times, we didn’t even have food to eat. I’m so glad I watched this video, because thinking back on it, I really was happy. So so much happier than I am now, worrying about how I can make more and more money.
